Infectious Mode For Modern Warfare 2

Joystick Radio Writes: "We were exploring in Spectator Mode on the map Rust on Modern Warfare 2 and came across an interesting sight. We found three barrels, on the back porch of a house, completely out of view from the map so they weren't for decoration. The barrels had a little rhombus-shaped tag on them that said, "Infectious Substance" with some more text at the bottom that we couldn't make out. The tags also had a six at the bottom of each corner, and there were three barrels (666). Infinity Ward must be hinting at something, so we came up with a few theories."

I vaguely remember a staff member of Infinity Ward brushing off Nazi Zombie mode as unimportant in a interview. In the same interview he commented about how 4 player co-op would be dumb for MW2 since it would ruin the 'single player experience'. I think it would of been funny to see 4 people moving slower than frozen molasses during the "No Russian" level if they did have 4 player co-op. :)

Lol this is not a hint at anything... I've explored spectator mode on every single map, the only interesting thing I found was some random office supplies on a building out in the distance on Highrise, and some developer's name (on pretty much every map). I know the houses they are talking about on rust, and I guarantee that IW wouldn't randomly drop a 'hint' on a barrel out there. Thats just stupid.

Infectious Mode is already ON in Xbox 360... you play a Match, and you get infectec with a lot of Bugs, Glitches, Hacks, Exploits... even a STATS RESET

IW is one of the WORST WORST WORST devlopers ever, COD4 was and always will be a one hit wonder,MW2 just f-ed it up, sold MW2 Dec 17th 2009 :), WHY are they the worst devs? well easy.... "We have a team working on mutiplayer since day one and we have people come in and test out the game so there is no need for a BETA", yea and you see what happened IW, glitches bugs and hacks and some thing called STAT resets? wow IW, Treyarch can do better, at least they didnt make it so PLAYERS and reset OTHER PEOPLES RANKS!!!! IW SUCKS!

Can't really blame IW for hacks because it's something that normal people don't have access to. Glitches and bugs can be put on IW though.
Though it sucks that you can get infected easily with the hacks on 360 :(

what about the other call of duty games they have made and the millions upon millions of copies they sold there?

infinity ward is better than most developers in terms of talent, the real problem lies in the fact they have made a game so popular that it is being targeted by hackers trying to get noticed

the problems showing up with this game aren't coming from bugs, they are coming from people actively and illegally reverse engineering and modifying the actually game files and even the disc image itself on the 360, other methods are being used on ps3

actually infinity ward has been proactive in attacking the source of these problems by using server side hot fixes and other methods that thwart the hacks

people who know a thing ot two about how this is happening don't trash infinity ward, the clueless, those who jump on the hatewagon, and the modders/hackers themselves trash infinity ward

what is happening on this game could not be prevented by any sort of public beta, these are not bugs, they are not glitches

people need to learn the actuality of the situation

You can do something like checking for negative numbers before you apply the changes to the online database.

But it's impossible to know what crackers might come up with.

IW didn't need those checks at first because no one is suppose to have access to the disc files. So you can't blame them for the hacks that wasn't suppose to happen in the first place. They will probably patch it and it will take while for it to go thru certification, but at least IW is going to be doing something about it.

well from what i read they was searching in spectator far away from the actual map and stumbled upon these barrels. Why would IW put something outside the map like this not to be found and not to be thought of as if something was a little odd?

the maps extend far beyond view and are littered with scenes and objects so that things like killcams and the view from air support aren't staring into nothing

they are nothing more than set pieces, every map has tons of this set well outside the limits of the players view

so this could sound crazy, but like since these barrels were discovered "far" off the rust map, maybe they just did a poor job making the map and these barrels are from the singleplayer game where the map is originally taken from. our ya, they could have thrown this in there as a hint of things to come....

anyway, we will find out in a month or 2 when we have to buy dlc

But it's probably more related to the infected tag you can earn in game by getting stabbed by someone with said tag. I'm truly hoping for Modern Warfare Zombies (it's the reason MW2 went from a day one day to a "Oh I guess I get it since my buddies do and I'd have a team to play with") but I'm not sure it's likely.

not enough evidence IMO, you find these in all games, i think its just a one off thing, and doesn't lead to any infectious mode or the link..

also on another note, IW hate taking ideas from tryach, they even say so in their videos basically. they work independently, and have no communication with them what so ever. at one point they where even going "whats world at war, sorry don't know that game"

they just don't like Activision giving their franchise to another company to work with... spec ops was their answer to zombies, and i doubt they will introduce a zombie mode...

but Infinity Ward has stated they would not be taking the same ideas from them. Must be pride or their hate for Treyarch, but still, a zombie like mode would be nice.
