Kombo writes: "Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is the second and latest release in Nintendo's foray into broad-appeal Olympic videogaming. This second installment features largely the same character lineup from the first game, but with some new big bosses to watch out for along the way. Although, one must wonder what place Sonic the Hedgehog has in a game like this... I mean, we're all used to Mario taking part in everything from saving princesses and playing tennis, to helping children learn to type, but Sonic and the gang? I guess Sonic just has the urge to feature himself in as many mediocre new releases as possible. Oops, did I just ruin the surprise ending of this review?"
Stan at GameSpew: There’s so many Mario sports games out there, but we’ve narrowed them down to the top 10. The Premier League standard of Mario sports games, if you will.
With all of the excitement and national pride surrounding the 2018 Winter Olympics, you may feel compelled to get involved in the action. And unless you intend on following the example of the guy who slid in during the opening ceremony, you'll have to live vicariously through video games.
Not sure which will best capture the spirit of the Games? Check out our list for the closure you need.
Don’t like sports? There’s a whole segment of games you can immediately write off, as far as you’re concerned. Or can you? You don’t have to be a comics fan to like Batman: Arkham City, and the appeal of Mario isn’t just limited to plumbing aficionados. Brad Woodling and Graham Russell are here to help with a list of games you should check out even if they have sports in them, because you’re missing out on a lot of fun.
