WorthPlaying: 0D Beat Drop Review

Despite the negative aspects pointed out in this review, 0D Beat Drop really is a solid puzzle game. The mechanics and the gimmick make it a good alternative for puzzle fanatics who are looking for something different from their routine. It's just too bad that the implementation of some of those mechanics wasn't as polished as one would have hoped. Those curious should try the demo first before putting down the points for the game since there are other, much more polished and popular puzzle games available for the service.

Most puzzle games are simple enough for the youngest of gamers. But the music component of the gameplay, challenging CPU opponents (even on Easy Mode), and the confusing Beat-O-Matic might frustrate and discourage younger gamers and they may need some help from an older player. The many multiplayer modes for up to four players are great for families, though.

Matt writes "I think the most accurate metaphor would be to say that combining the two genres is like making a peanut butter and pudding sandwich. While some might appreciate the unique and somewhat tasty flavor, more then likely most people would chose to avoid that combination all together. 0D Beat Drop has a lot of things going for it but unfortunately the implementation of them is what makes the game fall a bit short."
