tdrules5229d ago

I just bought it off Steam and played it, can not wait to play Heavy Rain

Nambassa5229d ago

It looks absolutely fantastic and I can't wait for it either. It's so unique which makes me want it so much. Im starting to get a bit fed up of shooters...

micro_invader5229d ago

Same, I also bought it off Steam during the sale. Shame it was the censored version though, I laughed when they took showers with their underwear on lol.

Hellsvacancy5229d ago

Its a fab game, i played it by complete mistake (it was 1 of the better mistakes ive made in my life) it will probably look abit dated now but itll give ya a good idea how Hevay Rain will play out

Heres a bubble 4-ya taste

Elven65229d ago

I think Atari released the uncensored version of Fahrenheit in North America a few months ago, it might have been digital only but I can't find the press release anymore!

morganfell5229d ago

The title of the article puts forward a firm prediction of sorts. The game will be hated and attacked by supporters of a different console. Why? Fear. Fear and jealousy will be at the bottom of it.

ikaris5229d ago

@micro

I wish video games could be a bit more adult oriented. Its rather embarrassing, not as bas as Aus I suppose, but come on. You can get away with murder in comparison to movies. I'm not saying movies don't need improvement in that sector either, but yeah I remember reading the developer wouldn't do that to Heavy rain. Heres hoping.

darkmurder5229d ago

Farenheit was good but this will demolish it.

wiggles5229d ago

It's about time we finally got a game that doesn't scream steroid super soldier kills the enemy faction and saves the day. I mean I'm pretty sure that story is the story for what maybe 80% of games today? I am so ready for a change of story.

UltraNova5229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

admit that this article is one of the most rational and well situated ones I've read in a long time! Well done Ironstar.

@morganfell: I have to admit I agree with what you're saying although I'll go down with you in doing so by the same aforementioned group of people.. but what the hell logic and factual acceptance is not so widespread in our days.

ukilnme5229d ago

@ UltraNova

It most likely will be attacked by a few that own a certain console. However, I am certain that fear and jealousy will be what motivates owners of a certain console to attack Halo Reach. I'll go down for saying that too but what the hell logic and factual acceptance is not so widespread in our days.

sikbeta5229d ago

I'm gonna be 1 of the Firsts in the line of battle defending this Game when the other Crew start with the Everyday Bashing

VARIETY > stuck genres

INNOVATION > the every year shooter

QUALITY > teh salez

Greywulf5229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

?!?!?!?

(runs to dl) that should be fun to play before hand. For 3.99 that can't be passed up with a higher META score than most games out now at days ;)

As far as the hate goes, the hate always comes from the same sources. Bitter console owners that only get to pretend playing Rehashed FPS's is gaming.

Ah well.. it only does everything.

morganfell5229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

ukilnme - It won't be me attacking Halo Reach.

I have already said that Halo Reach will be a great game. Now I will parse that by saying it is the only true 360 exclusive that the 360 has on the horizon as many of the other titles certain people are waving around (Splinter Cell, Mass Effect 2) also appear on the PC. That doesn't mean they will not be good also, it simply means they are not 360 exclusives. I am also not convinced we will make it to the end of 2010 without seeing some sign of those titles on the PS3.

But Heavy Rain will have the most ridiculous arrows and slings flung at it. No Co-op, No Multiplayer, whatever. Just pick something that other games get a pass for and prepare to see those items employed as indictments against Heavy Rain. After all no Co-op was used to attack Killzone 2, which was another title which saw negativity based in fear and jealousy.

EDIT: @sikbeta, get ready and keep your powder dry because it will come as surely as death and taxes.

UltraNova5229d ago

Ok in what way is Halo reach a new never before seen videgame experience like heavy rain? From what I know and experienced FPSs are the most overused video games in all time.

How could an FPS fail or heavily criticized? especially a shooter with the Halo name? Halo games even if their utter crap will never fail or negatively criticized due to the amount of blind followers and hype they have (and yes blind followers can also be 'professional reviewers').

Putting two out of this world different games (one tried and tested and one new and unknown)in the same context is something I cannot help you with since I doubt you wanted to make a valid point other than unintentionally placing yourself in the aforementioned group of people who would like to see H.R. fail.

Why would anyone want to see a game fail is beyond me. But the truth is that there are a lot of people out there that do.

Now as far as I am concerned kudos to people who go against the stream and innovate rather than taking the safe side. If heavy rain will be a good game it remains to be seen, lets play it first and then decide, some goes for halo reach.

PS: ' I'll go down for saying that too but what the hell logic and factual acceptance is not so widespread in our days.'

Nice try, next time say something your own it will make you sound more credible.

gaffyh5229d ago

When Farenheit was released, I got it for PC and PS2, and recently bought another copy for PS2. Wanted to play it again before Heavy Rain released, truly a great game.

EVILDEAD3605229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

LMAO @ the hypocrisy!

HALO REACH will be the most hated on game of 2010..period! Just like every high profile 360 game and console exclusive that is released.

Edit: LOL..just look at the comments..the hate is in their blood and DNA

When Ninja Blade was released it got SMASHED by the haters and reviewers alike because it used QTE. If this game was a multi-plat you wouldn't hear a peep about it.

In fact, if this were a 360 exclusive I know for a fact the hate on this site for this title would be overwhelming.

The truth about this game is that one year ago every PS3 fan on the net had it at the top of their lists. This was until it was unveiled before E3 and the underwhelming showing tapered off the anticipation.

Since then it's been all nudity scenes that are shown to up the controversy level and promote the game. At the end of the day 'Indigo Prophecy' was a blast and Heavy Rain may easily top that expectation. But if the hype overshadows the final results this title may be in for a uphill battle.

gaffyh5229d ago

@evildead - Speak for yourself dude, that E3 trailer was amazing, and got me hyped for the game even more. Heavy Rain is now my most anticipated game right now, after Mass Effect 2 (obviously because it's coming out earlier).

Also Ninja Blade sucked, the game was just kinda crap. I really don't see why people praise it, when it was basically Ninja Gaiden, but a lot lot worse.

n4gno5229d ago

", I am certain that fear and jealousy will be what motivates owners of a certain console to attack Halo Reach"

don't dream, ps3 owners don't care about anything on 360, if they want one, they can have one, since day one (you can't tell the same thing for X360 haters)

zeeshan5229d ago

Heavy Rain and The Last Guardians are like acquired taste. Classy stuff. I am sure it won't sell like hot cakes but I hope it sells enough so that the developers could get their investment back.

ukilnme5229d ago

@ UltraNova

"Ok in what way is Halo reach a new never before seen videgame experience like heavy rain? From what I know and experienced FPSs are the most overused video games in all time."

I never said that Halo Reach would offer a new experience like Heavy Rain. Who's to say that this "new experience from Heavy Rain will be any good. Not every new experience is great or great for everybody.

"How could an FPS fail or heavily criticized? especially a shooter with the Halo name? Halo games even if their utter crap will never fail or negatively criticized due to the amount of blind followers and hype they have (and yes blind followers can also be 'professional reviewers')."

If Halo fans love Halo and want more Halo because the gameplay has always been top notch, how does that make them blind? Surely the millions that have bought and enjoyed the Halo games can't be wrong about what they like. Surely the hundreds of thousands that play online daily can't be wrong about the gameplay. The blind followers are those that hate on a game because it's not on their console of choice. Most will hate on a game without having played it. I am curious though, which Halo game was utter crap?

"Putting two out of this world different games (one tried and tested and one new and unknown)in the same context is something I cannot help you with since I doubt you wanted to make a valid point other than unintentionally placing yourself in the aforementioned group of people who would like to see H.R. fail."

Don't need your help. It's crystal clear to me. I know the games are entirely different. I for one would like to see Heavy Rain succeed. I'll be supporting it myself. My point is the hate each will receive comes from the same place mentioned and portrayed by morganfail, fear and jealousy. You have to be blind if you can't see the constant hate against the Halo series here on N4G.

"Why would anyone want to see a game fail is beyond me. But the truth is that there are a lot of people out there that do."

I can't understand that myself, gamers should want the industry to thrive. You may just miss out on the best gaming experience in your life if you allow hate for a particular console or company to blind you. Sadly though, N4G is full of haters that should not dare consider themselves gamers.

"Now as far as I am concerned kudos to people who go against the stream and innovate rather than taking the safe side. If heavy rain will be a good game it remains to be seen, lets play it first and then decide, some goes for halo reach."

Totally agree. I'm looking forward to both myself.

"PS: ' I'll go down for saying that too but what the hell logic and factual acceptance is not so widespread in our days.'
Nice try, next time say something your own it will make you sound more credible."

Your words were nicely put. You should have taken my "plagiarism" as a compliment.

jack_burt0n5229d ago

"fear and jealousy".............don t think so.

Low IQ and inability to follow an objective more complex than shoot alien or terrorist.

Most definately :)

bubs 2 u

ukilnme5229d ago

@ jack_burt0n

Yep, you just described 98.7% of the N4G PS3 fanbase.

JBaby3435229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

Why couldn't you have just left it alone? You show your true colors bringing up the arguments you did when it really wasn't necessary. What morganfell said is true because I have already seen 360 fanboys hate on HR when it isn't even out yet. But then you had to come with "PS3 fans do it too." You should have just left it alone but now you insult most PS3 fans by saying 98.7% have a low IQ. Certainly there are fanboys on both sides but you're the one saying nearly everyone who prefers a certain console (PS3) has a low IQ. Which fanboy YOU are is clearly evident. You've gone beyond just preferring the 360, which there's nothing wrong with preferring the 360, to being a fanboy and insulting people who support the PS3.

5229d ago
bjornbear5229d ago

to anything anyone else is talking about here, so give up

this game will be awsum, GoTY contender and I'm certain I will enjoy it =D

In 4 months I'll assure you of all those facts ;)

CWMR5229d ago

-Heavy Rain looks great. I'm not going to bash on it. I just wish the ps3 fans would give the same respect to 360 games so that we can all come here and read news in relative peace. I literally cannot go into a single 360 article without suddenly being inundated by a huge wave of negativity and hate. It actually begins to wear you down.-

EVILDEAD3605229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

'@evildead - Speak for yourself dude, that E3 trailer was amazing, and got me hyped for the game even more. Heavy Rain is now my most anticipated game right now, after Mass Effect 2 (obviously because it's coming out earlier).'

Who's talking about the E3 trailer? I said BEFORE E3 the game was revealed. They world premiered footage and an interview with the developer. They set up and played the garage scene. The level of anticipation completely shifted for the game.

Is Heavy Rain anticipated? Yes

But it you 'dude' who needs to 'speak for yourself' when you say that Heavy Rain is the second most anticipated title behing Mass Effect 2.
In fact you would have to be on Heavy Drugs to believe that Heavy Rain is even close to the anticipation level of God of War 3 or Gran Turismo 5 for the PS3.

'Also Ninja Blade sucked, the game was just kinda crap. I really don't see why people praise it, when it was basically Ninja Gaiden, but a lot lot worse.'

LOL @ people who never played the game pretending that their opinion matters on the subject of said game. I just brought up the fact that it got bashed for the use of QTE. We'll see what issaid about 'Rain' when it drops.

morganfell5229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

Show me a game more unjustly put down than Killzone 2 and let's see a console more ridiculously attacked than the PS3. PS3 supporters have had to endure far worse than any 360 fan...ever.

Traveler5229d ago

Actually, Ninja Blade was a pretty good action game. I liked it more than Ninja Gaiden to tell you the truth. Ninja Gaiden has good mechanics but it lacks in almost everything else. Ninja Blade had character and atmosphere and the gameplay was more diverse. Even the plot made more sense than the plot in Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2.

I don't know, I just feel that it got hated on unfairly. It wasn't great, but it was good. Made by the same studio that made Demon's Souls by the way.

EVILDEAD3605229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

I feel like im the N4G historian. Ninja Blade was and let me repeat that... WAS COMPLETELY F`ing Hyped by 360's. "Zomg epic scale" and all this other nonsense.

LMAO..you must be the historian of an alternate universe. 'Ninja Blade' had an overall hype level of - 1.0. There were barely any articles on the game. Hell, I even thought the initial trailers looked great. But, then came a 'hate' article before the reviews even dropped about the game's heavy use of QTE and that's when the bashing and bandwagon hate began to gain steam.

Then reviewers ripped it to shreds for being a terrible game...

Actually XPlay gave it 4 out of 5 and GamePro gave it a perfect score saying

'Ninja Blade is a game full of awesome moments. It's not incredibly deep and it won't redefine the genre but it's a kick-ass title that will please action junkies looking for an adrenaline kick'

But, with certain harsh reviews from 'certain' reviewers for it's use of QTE it'll be interesting to see if Heavy Rain gets a complete pass.

In fact 1up's review was interstingly harsh giving the game a C- (but it translated to a 42(?) on metacritic.

My favorite quote in the review is:

Over 25 years ago, back in the days of Dragon's Lair, the original QTE game, it was a worthwhile innovation, but it was still a shallow mechanic that shared more in common with simple reflex games like "Simon," than actual "proper" video game controls. To be featured so prominently in Ninja Blade smacks of lazy game design. Have developers faltered to the point where simply pressing a pre-set sequence of buttons during a boss battle is considered better than a more elegant, strategic showdown?

Evildead360 prediction...

Ninja Blade heavy use of QTE? = 'Lazy game design' + C- (42%)
Heavy Rain use of QTE? = 'Innovative game design' + A+ (100%)

Bet's anyone?

In fact, I will again restate that had Heavy Rain been a 360 exclusive the bashing would have been astronomical on this site.

Just a fun example..

Ninja Blade..Xbox 360 exclusive..developer FROM SOFTWARE..

Overall consensus of hate most from people who never played the game. (N4G)

Demon Souls..PS3 exclusive..developer FROM SOFTWARE..

Got only ok scores in japan..but Overall consensus on N4G? Greatest RPG ever! GOTY! As Greywulf would say 'ZOMG epic scale' status..94 the record I love Demon Souls and From Software since the original King's Field)

LOL..I only say this because it's as entertaining to watch year in and year out as it is true. Which is why a preemtive 'hate' strike for Heavy Rain is laughable at best.

It'll definately be interesting to see how it all shakes out this year. But, judging from past recent history..the game will get overwhelming praise and underwhelming sales from PS3 owners. So in my opinion I hope the controversy for the game widens..because maybe it will give the title the exposure 'Indigo Prophecy' wholeheartedly deserved.

Edit @ Morgenfell

'Show me a game more unjustly put down than Killzone 2'

Answer..Easily..Halo 3

Remember the hilarious classic article from Hip Hop gamer that brought 8000 degree of N4G Halo 3 hate when shortly before K2's release the headline read..'Killzone 2 to outperform Halo 3'..

CHAD ROGERS5229d ago

I like it. Starla really wants it. I will do whatever I can to make this game a hit. I only play on a ps3. Winners play on a ps3. The Chad is a high performance PS3. If you love the PS3 then you love the Chad. Say hi to Starla- Starla thinks so too. Heavy Rain is the Chad of Video Games. It is CAKE.

CHAD ROGERS5229d ago

Again you speak the truth.Again noone can touch your superior grasp of the FUNdamentals of this gaming generation. Morganfell you are cake. Kudos to you sir- Kudos to you. Bravo. The Chad beams.

exnihilonihilfit5229d ago

Fan boys have selective memories. Evil remembers all the hate that Xbox got and Grey remembers all the hate the PS3 got. My memory is selective too though, and only having a PS3, I'm in Grey Wulf's camp, so I'm not going to pretend that I can speak definitively on this matter, but it does appear to me that over the course of it's life time, PS3 and its exclusives have been the subject of much more negative scrutiny by the media than the Xbox 360.

That statement has nothing to do with the comments left here on N4G. I only recently began commenting and reading comments on this site so I can't give you a history like my friends above me claim to be able to do. Really, I don't think the comments section here matters much, as most of the people who post on it already have their minds made. All I can say is that every article on IGN, 1UP, Gamepro, Gamespot, Destructoid, Gametrailers, G4, Eurogamer... basically you name it, that I've ever read about the Xbox itself or a major Xbox exclusive speaks of it glowingly (Even RROD articles would talk about how great MS customer service is and how easy it is to get it fixed), whereas the PS3 and it's games just don't get hyped up by any of the major sites. You can't say any of it's games are over hyped, because they're just not hyped, at least not by anyone other than hardcore PS3 fans and Sony itself (FYI, HHG is not a real journalist and should be filed under PS3 fan, not as member of the press). All the rest of the gaming media talks about Sony games as if they're suspicious and think they're probably not going to be what was promised (and they are not entirely to blame for that, but it's not like MS should be viewed with any less suspicion, and I'm not just talking about Xbox here). Even now with GOW3, GT5 and this game, there's a contingent of fans who rave about it, but take this article for example, it's technically a positive evaluation of the game, but it's title, though meant to be a pun, can be construed as very negative. I mean, have you seen the images of GOW3, have you played the demo!?!?!?! They're amazing!! But one multplat game comes out that performs a little better on Xbox (Bayonetta, which is indeed great) and the next day headline on all the major sites is "GOW is Dead." The demo comes out for another multiplat game, which doesn't even come close to GOW, but suddenly Dante's Inferno, a completely new and untested IP, is giving GOW a run for its money as far as the media is concerned. Seriously? And then, god for bid, if either one of those games sells more units (which wouldn't be hard given that they're on two different consoles as opposed to one), they'll be declared the indisputable victors.

Ninja Blade was not considered a major exclusive, and so reviewers spoke brutally honestly about how they regarded the game, but before it came out, I only ever remember it receiving positive press. People hardly even remember that game, and I find it hard to believe that very many PS3 fans really did talk crap, because I find it hard to believe that they cared. Somebody mentioned a 1UP review, uh... 1UP loves the Xbox, and seriously hates on PS3 all the time. The game wasn't hyped much at all, and no one ever talks about it except for one person trying really hard to come up with an example of the one time an Xbox exclusive got a bad review. If Ninja blade is the best you can do to demonstrate how the Xbox has been the subject of constant hate and persecution, then you're really desperate. Truth is though, I don't see a lot of Xbox hate even on this site, period. Most PS3 fans like Halo, Gears and Mass Effect and I think we can all agree that Alan Wake looks like it will be awesome.

The only time anyone really talks crap about Halo is when they are just frustrated that this whole generation has been over saturated with FPS and TPS games. In that case, I think they are a bit justified, because there really are too many FPS and TPS games, it's a bad trend that the industry has gotten into, and it's a trend that only started because of the unprecedented success of the Halo series. But in my recent recollection, there are really only two Xbox games that got talked down about upon, ODST and L4D2. What everyone say, and what I have said too, is not that they were bad, but that they were overpriced for content that could have just been added in a few DLC packages or been included in the game in the first place. This represents another bad trend that the industry may be gradually slipping into. Anyone who is an OG (Original Gamer) knows what I'm talking about here. Some of the trends set by Valve, IW and Bungie seem to be leading to developers trimming content and development time in order to capitalize on fan bases whom they know will purchase whatever they put out, how ever marginal the difference between the "new" content and what they've already purchased. This is a real concern for all gamers on both consoles, but every time I try to say that on this site, everyone accuses me of hating the games and the system they're on, which isn't true.

On topic: as far as I'm concerned, I've been wanting heavy rain since I saw that first tech demo before the PS3 was even out yet. My interest has never wained, and I couldn't be happier with the way it has progressed.

starchild5228d ago

Nobody should hate Heavy Rain, it looks really exciting. It is games like this that make me glad I own both consoles.
This and Alan Wake are two of the games I want the most this year.

UltraNova5228d ago (Edited 5228d ago )

'I never said that Halo Reach would offer a new experience like Heavy Rain. Who's to say that this "new experience from Heavy Rain will be any good. Not every new experience is great or great for everybody.'

When did I accused you of saying that? I was actually asking you! And yes I agree with what you said.

'If Halo fans love Halo and want more Halo because the gameplay has always been top notch, how does that make them blind? Surely the millions that have bought and enjoyed the Halo games can't be wrong about what they like. Surely the hundreds of thousands that play online daily can't be wrong about the gameplay. The blind followers are those that hate on a game because it's not on their console of choice. Most will hate on a game without having played it. I am curious though, which Halo game was utter crap? '

To like a game is fine but to think of it as the be all end all of gaming is wrong (saying its game play its top notch is a bit of a stretch and strictly opinion based, ask Killzone and Modern warfare supporters ;p), its called blind fanboyism (if theres such a word :p). This goes for any game or console for that matter. Now how many Halo guys would you allocate in the aforementioned group? You dont have to answer just something for you to think about but keep in mind hype and hype alone does wonders on a persons ability to un-biasly criticize!

I never said a halo game was crap (even though Halo 3 was a backtrack on an otherwise great series) I was talking in the case of 'if and when' a halo game WILL be crap(if this makes sense :p), people will still hale it as the second coming as in any halo release.

BTW I am on my 2 360 now... I have 2 ps3's one in my room and one in the living room. Never owned a Wii, probably never will. Had to watch the halo 3 ending on you tube due to the delight-full disk scratching habit of my first 360..

'Don't need your help. It's crystal clear to me. I know the games are entirely different. I for one would like to see Heavy Rain succeed. I'll be supporting it myself. My point is the hate each will receive comes from the same place mentioned and portrayed by morganfail, fear and jealousy. You have to be blind if you can't see the constant hate against the Halo series here on N4G.'

Glad you dont need my help as I said I cant help you :). No I am not blind I do see the hate but not only on the Halo series but in all fronts. This is something that will be here well after you and me are long gone. In a way this hate has merged withing the structure of this site and it is what makes people come back for more. I dont like it you might not like it I dont know, but its not going to change any time soon.

'Your words were nicely put. You should have taken my "plagiarism" as a compliment.'

Thanks and sorry for coming down hard on you like that :).

The truth is and a don't give a rats ass if anybody believes me I've stopped being a fanboy a long time ago. I've learned that neither MS nor Sony would come an pat me on the back for supporting them! If I want to play a game I can I have both consoles and a gaming pc thats surely contributing in global warming :P

PS: Do you remember when the ps3 had no games and the 360 had them in shi+loads? (2007) Remember the hate on ps3 owners? Now (2008 until today)why do you think ps3 supporters are more lets say... 'vocal'? Dont you thing its their turn now?

Something else for you to think about.. :)

I am so glad I own a PS3, the line up this year is the best ever for any console!!

Bring on Heavy Rain!!!

Marquis_de_Sade5229d ago

I'm glad I own both a 360 and PS3, as 2010 looks spectacular all round (unless you happen to own just a Wii)

Ninji5229d ago

I'm sure the Wii's lineup will be great as well as the PS3 lineup. 2010 looks good all around unless you only own a 360. PS3 & Wii has a strong lineup with all of their first party titles & that's what the 360 is lacking.

Marquis_de_Sade5229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

Ugh, yes, of course. Let's pretend Halo Reach, Fable III, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2 and no doubt more are on the way for the 360. I had enough of the Wii and Nintendo by the middle of 2008 and traded it in towards a PS3, haven't looked back since. I consider myself a fan of games rather than consoles, can't see the sense behind unwavering loyalty to a box of wires and silicon and huge corporations that are only interested in the contents of my wallet.

- Edit: A quick browse through your comments confirms my initial suspicion.

RedDragan5229d ago

@ 3.2

Yeah I heard it is great year for any console, including the Wii.

Even PC is getting huge exclusives, not sure if the StarCraft remake is this year or last year, but if someone says it is already out, it is time for me to visit Overclockers.co.uk and start building my new PC!!

Marquis_de_Sade5229d ago (Edited 5229d ago )

Starcraft II has not yet been released.

Ah, disagree says otherwise, can you please link me to a site where I can buy then?

#3.3

Yeah, 360 DOES have games coming to it.

I'm sure we'll also see some nice stuff at E3 from MS as well. Probably before that too.

Marquis_de_Sade5229d ago

In the process of editing my comment I accidentally messed up the phrase about the exclusives, it was meant to read:

"Let's pretend Halo Reach, Fable III, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2 and no doubt more AREN'T on the way for the 360 this year"

My bad.

Please stop comparing video games to movies

"Many video games catch not only great commercial attention but remarkable critical attention as well. We have seen games like Heavy Rain, The Last of Us Part II, and even entries in the Metal Gear series described as fantastic interactive experiences, even heralded in the same way as Hollywood's greatest films.

I would suggest that not only is this an unfair comparison but also a harmful one. Video games, by their very nature, are an intricately different medium and should be weighed against one another rather than another form of media," Phillip writes for GF365.

Yes, please stop. They're better than most hollywood drivel nowadays.

I think Hollywood films will becoming increasingly more like video games in the future, especially as the world embraces the "new normal" from the pandemic. It makes sense, as games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales showcase just how realistically we're reaching in graphical capabilities, as well as showcase extreme action sequences in spectacular ways. And as time goes by, it'll get easier and cheaper to produce such "art", as well as create new star "actors" that never age, never die, never complain, never gets involved in scandals, etc. Technology is amazing and we're only just getting a taste of what it'll eventually be.

No. Some games are like movies.

No. For the money spent, a quality game provides far more entertainment value than a quality movie. Especially when looking at what is going on in the world, and how a studio can attempt to pilfer from consumers by charging 30 dollars for Mulan via streaming. Ridiculous. There is no comparison....games all day.

Have you played Detroit? While it’s my personal favorite, I fully understand many preferring Heavy Rain more. I’m glad you enjoyed Heavy Rain too.

def. one of my top 3 best experiences on PS3

bouzebbal

That’s awesome to hear! What’re the other 2 best experiences?

akaFullMetal1416d ago

Great game, need to get started on Detroit soon.

ClayRules20121416d ago

Glad you enjoyed the game! Yes, Detroit is a masterpiece of a game, and their best work to date “in my opinion”

Wow, 10 years...and yet, still one of the best/most emotional/thrilling gaming experiences I’ve ever had.

So grateful to Sony for believing in Quantic Dream’s vision for this game, and giving them a chance. I’ll never forget David Cage saying “We want to challenge the player, but not with the controller, but mentally, with their decisions of “How far would you go to save someone you love” Well, they broke my emotional gamer heart lol.

My teenage son refuses to play this game, because I’ve told him in little detail the emotional impact it had on me all those years ago. Maybe one day he will.
