It's this level polish and creative assuredness that really make Darksiders such a delight in the end. Wow, talk about sleeper hit of the year. Just when you thought the year was over this game pops up.

Let's see what other critics say though. It looks pretty interesting. God of War meets Zelda. Only people like Gago below can make that sound like a bad thing :P

I've been looking forward to this game for a long time now. I believe the first trailer came out at E3'07. I think the color palette changed a bit. It still looks really good though. First day purchase for me... assuming I can afford it after all the holiday expenses lol.

I heard about it a while back and liked the visual style of it but it wasn't on my radar untill a month ago when I started checking out promotional vids on GameTrailers.

I'm glad I got GoW Collection and Sigma2 out of the way cos now I'll have time to play this :D

More and more RPG elements are getting used in genres that started off with none at all. I think the dungeon element is good next step for hack'n'slash games and I'm really looking forward to seeing how it works out in Darksiders.

I am surprised that there aren't a lot of Zelda clones, not saying that this is not good, but I can't think of other games that barrow this much from Zelda.

This is funny. I said about a year ago that the only multi-plats i will be buying will be Draksiders,Byonetta and DI. Darksiders because i love the concept, Byonettta because of Hediki and the only real competition to GOW and DI because its a GOW clone.

Unfortunatley i am not buying Byonetta anymore because i will never ever support crap ports on the PS3 but i am extremely happy with early reviews of Darksiders. The wait and delay is worth it.

Can't stand these hack and slash games. Splinter Cell & GT5 are my most wanted. Good score for this game if you like that sort of thing.

If the worst of the games you mentioned plus Dantes Inferno had come out last November, or this month, I´d have bought it, now I probably won´t till its cheaper.

Wow, surprised some of you never heard of this one. Been hearing about it for awhile now. It definately looks good, i did see quite a bit of it in action and it does look worth picking up. It is God of War meets Zelda. Looks better than Dantes Inferno, i did not like that game judging from the demo. It is a poor mans rip off of God of War. Its a weak attempt at that. I do think Darksiders will be better. Its a little different. Too many games coming out and still playing too many at the moment.

This game is a definite day 1 buy for me.

I wouldn't rent this because from reading the review this game is something different with elements some gamers that never played GoW or the Zeldas can experience.

Ocarina of Time and getting the Biggoron Sword are great memories if Darksiders can bring that I'm In!

Now a game to rent is Bayonetta...no offense. I'm extremely impressed with its battle system and it is definitely the most creative and robust system compared to any Hack N Slashers for years until topped by maybe DMC5?

What exactly is the difference between an 8.9 and a 9.0? I find it interesting that they use a 100 point scale for the overall score, but they only use half point multiples for the individual categories.

Joe Madureira is an amazing artist. Since Dragonkind and Exarch both got canceled I am so glad he could finally get a game released that he worked on. I pre-ordered Darksiders as soon as it was available...I cannot wait.
