Why does PS3 continue to receive shoddy ports?

Here we are, three years after the release of the Playstation 3, and multi-platform games are continuing to receive shoddy ports. The answer is not because developers can't make titles better on the Playstation 3, but it is because developers won't put the effort into it.

Because of lazy devs.

Just like with Valve, they don't want to put in the effort. Plus alot of games are still made with the 360 as the lead design, so of course games are slightly better when they are made with that tech in mind. Bayonette did give it's game over to sony to let them help fix problems before the release, so maybe it will be better. There is no question that if devs put the effort into the PS3 they can obtain greatness, just look at what Gurellia games and Naughty Dog, and sucker punch have done with it.

jcgamer5254d ago

that's for DAMN SURE!

lol :)

Shadow Man5254d ago

on the ps3 version if Droids don't buy games?

jcgamer5254d ago

Lime green BOTS buy everything! Shoddy games, shoddy hardware, and shoddy accessories...and Greenturd is your master! Bow down!

lol

PLAYstar5254d ago

The droids don't buy games, yet they're still getting more exclusives each year. Whereby the bots buy games, and wasn't given an option but to stick their rusted metal arse in a single game for a millennium.. Poor thing, poor thing .... poor thing ...

FiftyFourPointTwo5254d ago

@Shadow Woman

Yeah, PS3 owners dont buy games thats why FFXIII in Japan sold at least 1.5 million copies in just one week. Stop owning yourself.

Man_of_the_year5254d ago

Way to go!! You can put that up there with MGS4 sales. Now what about the other 298 games in the PS3 library?

Anyways, it's not about Lazy Dev's. That's just a Sony Fanboy excuse. It's about having a fixed budget. believe it or not, games cost money to make, most Sony Fanboys may not know this since still recieving allowances from their parents, they are unaware of the value of money. Resources equal money, time and employee's. The PS3 is harder to Dev for, and thus makes developers choose to build on a PC, then PORT to 360 then port to PS3. These devs just don't have the time or money to spend years perfecting a 360 port to the PS3. They do the best they can with what resources they have available to them.

wow...Sony fanboys really are the most ignorant fanboys of any console. Just down right dumb as hell.

JasonPC360PS3Wii5254d ago

Portstation 3 it wouldn't have mattered anyway none of you would have bought it even if the port was good.

The Iron Sheik5254d ago (Edited 5254d ago )

As usual you are wrong. I have been keeing an eye on this game since I first saw it over a year ago. I was planning to buy it day 1 but since Platinum games are lazy and didn't bother to make the PS3 version equal. I will either rent it or buy it used when it is cheap.

And you think bots will buy this game? Even with the great reviews, it's Japanese its not a shooter and there is no multiplayer. That usually spells disaster on the 360.

Aquarius5254d ago (Edited 5254d ago )

Man_of_the_year a.k.a TheTruth2009, you just owned yourself MEGAHARD.

What about the other 298 games in the 360 library? Is the average really 5MILL+?

cause people are afraid of what they don't understand,

PS3 is the true next-gen system

4point7BillionLoss5254d ago

it's because devs need much more Time and investment to make a PS3 game look anything as good as an xbox game, and to make it look better they need 10 times more developers and about 2 years longer ...

That's the real reason ... deny it you stupid yellow teeth droids ....

Pumbli5254d ago (Edited 5254d ago )

4point7BillionLoss - What's with you and bad teeth? You think that's a good insult? You really think someone's gonna read your post and go "OMGWTFBBQ!?!? HE SAID I HAVE YELLOW TEETH, NOW I'M SO ANGRY!!!!"?

I doubt it.

Also, Man_of_the_year you are an idiotic bot, and worse then most other bots out there since you try so hard to troll and still you fail at it.

4point7BillionLoss5254d ago

News4PS3Bloggers adverts get loads of hits from you studid droids

Pumbli5253d ago

4point7BillionLoss - Really? That's the best comeback you could come up with? I mean... Wow. My 1 year old uncle has said more insulting things to me.

Now concerning your grammar, I really hope you're not from an English speaking country, if you are I think you're 14 years old at most.

Anyways, about my teeth, last time I knew (which was about 2 weeks ago) they were in perfect condition. You should speak to my dentist if you don't believe me, should I give you his number?

If ur going to make a Ps3 game that doesn't run as good as the 360 counter part, you matter well make it exclusive.

Cold 20005254d ago

Nah that would be radical.

That would turn 98% of multiplats into 360 exclusives.

But in Bayonetta's case, when the port is just pure crap, I agree with you, better just make it a 360 exclusive.

bjornbear5254d ago

98% exclusives? really? =P

you kids make me laugh so hard.

But by all means, go on, have fun =)

raztad5254d ago (Edited 5254d ago )

@Cold

The funny thing is that you need special equipment to distinguish the superior port, so your statement is not accurate in any way.

Regarding Bayonetta, it's Platinum fault (as was Valves with the Orange Box) the crappy port. Considering Platinum is a Japanese developer it would make sense they tried to get, first a foremost, a PS3 game running, because the PS3 is way beyond the xbox over that didnt happen, and the result shows.

They couldnt afford to drop the big japanese market, so a xbox port is out of question.

Cajun Chicken5254d ago

Because Platinum games didn't actually make the PS3 version, it was Sega. Overall, blame Platinum for being so stupid to not making the PS3 version which would actually sell more in it's homeland on this one.

Information Minister5254d ago

In the case of Bayonetta, the PS3 version was clearly rushed and that's why it's a "shoddy port". Platinum Games completed development on the 360 and only then handed the game over to SEGA which had a very limited period of time before the established release date to port the game. I think that most of Bayonetta's issues could have been fixed if it had been delayed on the PS3. But the truth is that even so, the game would probably still be inferior on the PS3, seeing as it was handled by a different team.

Gothdom5254d ago

The more I hear about this game, the more I feel that it was designed to be 360 exclusive, but seeing as it's near-death for the 360 in japan at the moment, they rushed for a ps3 port...

fishd5254d ago

I might end up buying a 360 for Bayonetta.

Cold 20005254d ago (Edited 5254d ago )

Great!! On top of that you'll get to play Mass Effect 2, Conviction, Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Reach and Fable 3 all on your LCD Screen on your comfy couch :)

fishd5254d ago

Nah I will play ME2 and AW on PC,will get Fable3 tho,as for Reach and SC and C2...couldn't care less
