Dutch Boogie5245d ago (Edited 5245d ago )

I got my eyes on:

GOW3 - hack & slash
GT5 - racing sim
Heavy Rain - action/thriller
ModNations Racers - racing/platform
Agent - open world
Resistance 3/Killzone 3 - Shooter
White Knight Chronicles - rpg

Basically Sony has most genres filled and these are only games we know about.

I know what console will continue to give me my moneys worth in 2010. Now ask yourselves, have you made the wright console choice?

Edit: DISAGREES?! lol guess i hit some fanboy nerves in here.

Edit: @ below

True man i forgot about Dead Rising 2. Thanks for the reminder.

ThanatosDMC5245d ago

You forgot Dead Rising 2 for zombie slaughter fest. I wonder if they'll still have a bench as a weapon that did wonders on zombies.

LeonSKennedy4Life5245d ago

...and EyePet for the ridiculously adorable pet game that girls just can't get enough of genre. : )

mikeslemonade5245d ago

What a blind article? Gran Turismo is clearly better than those 10 games.

raztad5245d ago

I need to agree about GoW3.

My list of highly expected games is pretty short

1) GoW Triogy
2) The Last Guardian
3) Metal Gear Solid:PW

Additionally I'll buy

Heavy Rain (Support innovation/mature storytelling)

MAG (256 players is mind blowing)

R3 (Coop action and chimera story)

All other PS3 exclusives/multiplats would have to wait because I need to catch up with this year multiplats like B:AA, AC2 and some others.

Freak of Nature5245d ago (Edited 5245d ago )

The "Last guardian"....Tops my list.

I am in hopes for news, something concrete one way or the other on the next "Oddworld Inhabitants" game, along with "Beyond good & Evil 2".Both games high up on my list and both in "limbo" unfortunatly for me......

News on "Insomniacs" North Carolina studio's game is also something I look forward to hearing about,(hopefully that act/RPG platformer rumored a few Months ago?)

And anything "Media Molecule",be it that little gem LBP and or a new IP!

cyberwaffles5245d ago

dead nation has my eye. looks like a lot of fun

-Alpha5245d ago

1) Mod Nation Racers-- Can't believe how great this game is turning out to be. I am very excited for it, looks a LOT of fun and thank GOD they have split screen!

2) Bad Company 2-- Looks to be a great game, very different from Modern Warfare 2's style and looks like a fun yet deep shooter

3) God of War 3-- What must be said? It's Pandora's Box on a Blu Ray disc

4) Halo Reach-- Biggest game since Halo 3 for Bungie, and possibly the biggest RELEASE since Modern Warfare 2. Halo with a new engine and the same great multiplayer= win.

5) Heavy Rain-- Not a game, but more set to be a unique experience, Heavy Rain looks to deliver on the thrill that I've been looking for since Resident Evil 4. And of course, it's set to have the emotional level that I absolutely LOVE in video games

6) The Last Guardian-- If Heavy Rain can deliver an emotional response out of gamers then Last Guardian IS set to be much, much more hard-hitting. From the guys that brought me one of my top 5 games of ALL time (SoTC) Team ICO knows how to give something unique. They are like a mature fantasy fairytale come to life.

7) White Knight Chronicles-- Team ICO brought me one of my top 5 games of all time, and so did Level 5 with Dark Cloud 2. Though I am a little disappointed with how WKC resembles a WRPG, I have faith in these guys. I hope they release Dark Cloud 3 soon.

8) Killzone 3-- set to be much, MUCH better than the already fantastic Killzone 2. I am eager for a deeper multiplayer component, a stronger story, and co-op. I am excited to see how much GG improve over K2.

9) Bioshock 2 probably, though I have yet to play Bioshock 1.

10) Reserved spot :)

camachoreloaded88065245d ago (Edited 5245d ago )

what he thinks the gamer audience is anticipating. Not that that's a bad thing, just an observation. Because I know Final Fantasy XIII and Gran Turismo 5 have A LOT more people following them than Bayonetta. Anyways, these are my top 5 anticipated games of 2010.

5.Splinter Cell: Conviction
4.God of War III
3.Mass Effect 2
2.Heavy Rain
1.Final Fantasy XIII

There's a lot of other great titles that will hopefully come out this year (like The Last Guardian, Agent), but it doesn't feel right to put them on this list unless I've seen gameplay footage.

blackpanther255245d ago

that i would remove bioschock 2 and Bad company 2 from my list and add

MAG
Mass Effect 2

zeeshan5245d ago

Another epic fail article! lol, I mean where is God of War, Gran Turismo 5? Final Fantasy XIII (in the west)? The list is a bad joke!

GWAVE5245d ago

Once again, journalists miss the mark. Where is MGS: Peace Walker? Where is Gran Turismo?

I mean, just take a look at their Top 3: Bayonetta, Red Dead Redemption, and Mass Effect 2. Really? REALLY?

Pyrrhus5244d ago

Where is FFXIII/GT5/GoW3(needs an actual spo)/Modnation Racers?

Why is bayonetta so high?

Rumor5244d ago

kudos for red dead redemption on the list

that game looks legit

N4PS3G5245d ago

Mass Effect 2 @ #1 can't really argue with that.. i'm excited ..it will be Epic

LeonSKennedy4Life5245d ago

No one cares about Bad Company 2.

The only people excited for Bad Company 2 are the people who were slamming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 because it got so popular that it was uncool to play it. Therefore, they supported Bad Company 2 in an effort to seem more L33T!

Understand?

Dutch Boogie5245d ago

What Leon? tell me you are joking. I know many people who are getting Battlefield:BC2 because the gameplay is addictive. Not to mention it is shaping up to be one of the best multiplats of 2010. I know i'm certainly looking forward to it more than Halo:Reach.

Pandamobile5245d ago

Yeah, man. BFBC2 is 2010's awesome multiplayer game.

LeonSKennedy4Life5245d ago (Edited 5245d ago )

1. Heavy Rain
2. The Last Guardian
3. Alan Wake
4. Twisted Metal
5. Bayonetta
6. God of War III
7. EyePet
8. Batman 2
9. Brink
10. Bioshock 2

EDIT: Oh...thank you for disagreeing with me. That's extremely constructive criticism.

LeonSKennedy4Life5245d ago

You're excited for Battlefield: Meh Company 2. Why can't I be excited for a game that does something new?

Pandamobile5245d ago

What are you 10?

Yay virtual pets. Incredible.

jalen2475245d ago

There is nothing wrong with EyePet. Its family fun. I am sure there is an audience for it. One can buy it for their kids, girlfriend, or grandmom. LOL. :)

zeeshan5245d ago

@Pandamobile: It is Leon's opinion. He can be excited about a HAZE relaunch and it shouldn't matter to you for that matter. EYEPET has its audience. People in UK are loving it. It's for the whole family. Btw, how old are you? If you are old enough to have a wife and kids or perhaps little brothers/sisters or nephews that you know are going to love the game, you wouldn't really have been wondering about PandaMobile's age.

Knghtz5244d ago

Someone who truly loves games doesn't judge a book by its cover. Get over yourself. God forbid originality exist anymore...

Kind of a goody story...

On a serious note, that is why I try activating gift cards asap. It's happened to me where the store didnt scan it right where the card was unusuable. Happened at Wally World.

gigoran815d ago

wait, that place is real? national lampoon wasn't kidding?

Tacoboto14d ago

I just bought two of the MonsterVerse Godzilla movies on 4K - both had digital copies expiring in 2023. Both were actually expired.

I'd be surprised but it's WB, of course they'd actually expire them

Knightofelemia15d ago

Usually most of those redemption card have an expiry date on them. If they expired all buyer did was buy recycled paper. And some of those codes are country locked to certain countries. I buy a card from the States I can't use it in Canada.

Chocoburger15d ago

Dumb and silly story. She wasted her money for no reason.

Is it really that hard to go to Steam or GOG. She spent $240, when its currently 70% off on GOG, and only costs $4.49.

Gee, I wonder, should I spend $240 on eBay, or $4.49 on GOG? 🙄

Rynxie15d ago

Most likely she wanted to resell a few or most of them. However, it was a too good to be true situation.

15d ago
Profchaos15d ago

So in short she paid $240.00 assuming usd for a bunch on unactivated game codes.

I still don't understand why I guess cause there's not a physical version and she wanted something for a collection or art project.

Rynxie15d ago

No, most likely to resell. However, she ended up getting screwed.

Asplundh15d ago

This is Alan Wake 1, it had physical copies.

You left out The Darkness games bring those back

fan_of_gaming19d ago

The head of Nightdive Studios has posted that The Darkness is on their list of games they want to do, so hopefully something comes from that

Yi-Long19d ago

Little Big Planet 1 and 2 deserve a mention, IMO.

Good call on Motorstorm, a game released 2 gens ago but still looks and feels so good. Motorstorm 2 and Motorstorm RC were gems as well. They followed up the Motorstorm games with the brilliant Driveclub, which still manages to put modern racing games to shame. Imagine closing down a studio as talented as that ... (!) Incredible.

A little 'arcade-gem' back then was The Last Guy, a top down 'follow the leader' snake-like game where you had to find and lead survivors to safety during an alien invasion, on terrible looking 'Google-earth' maps. Graphics were poor, even back then, but would love that same gameplay with modern maps and graphics.

Street Fighter 4, once it finally had a full roster, was quite good, but it was always an ugly game, sadly. Imagine bringing that back while using the current SF6 engine.

fan_of_gaming19d ago

Good suggestions, I'd be in for
LittleBigPlanet
LittleBigPlanet 2
Motorstorm: Pacific Rift
Motorstorm: RC

purple10119d ago

God damn I love motorstorm so much

At the time I had a low-mid range sony 40” tv, The latency to the controller was waaaay too high, would to play a modern version

In saying that later I got a 3d lg tv and playing the 3d motorstorm in my bedroom with the environment crumbling around the track, was something special, specially compared to what others were playing at the time, will always remember that

Skuletor19d ago

Some good choices here and Resistance: Fall of Man is my most wanted PS3 remaster/remake. Not sure about their claim it was Sony's answer to Gears of War though.

CrimsonWing6919d ago

I’d rather have sequels than remakes. Look at Dead Space 1 Remake. Would’ve been cooler if we got a new entry and it failed with sales sealing the fate of a sequel rather than just replay the same game and it fail in sales and we never get a new entry.

Remakes are great for things like PS2 and earlier games to really get a crazy new graphical coat, but I think we should ease up on all these remakes and actually do sequels.

fan_of_gaming19d ago

Yeah for sure, sequels would be ideal. But in the current market environment where many big publishers are risk-averse, I'd rather get a remaster or remake that a developer can do on a budget that will be approved, rather than nothing for an IP.

Inverno19d ago

I rather they remaster and port over to PC and current gen all the games permanently stuck on PS360. Those games don't need remakes, they need to be given a chance to live again outside of their confined consoles and then give a few proper sequels. Like Sleeping Dogs, Motor Storm, LA Noir, should get another entry.

fan_of_gaming19d ago

Yeah I'd be fine with remasters of PS3 games too, they don't have to be remakes.

The 7 Best Western RPGs: Immersive Adventures

RPGs are often huge, sprawling endeavours. With limited playtime, we have to choose wisely, so here's the best western RPGs available today.

SimpleSlave25d ago

"I started playing games yesterday" the List... Meh!

How about a few RPGs that deserve some love instead?
1 - Alpha Protocol - Now on GOG
2 - else Heart.Break()
3 - Shadowrun Trilogy
4 - Wasteland 2
5 - UnderRail
6 - Tyranny
7 - Torment: Tides of Numenera

And for a bonus game that flew under the radar:
8 - Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

DustMan25d ago

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave25d ago (Edited 25d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.
