2010 is going to be a great year for gaming. Got Bayonetta, Mass Effect 2 and Splinter Cell conviction all pre-ordered.

My excitement for this game just shot way up, so long as I don't have to deal with reading stupid fanboy comments comparing this to Metal Gear Solid.

The frame rate is a bit inconsistent, and there's an awful lot of screen tearing, but that runs parallel with the game being early in its development phase. Everything else looks GREAT; this is almost how I envisioned the series going. I'm glad that Ubisoft re-designed the game from its original state, because that wasn't really doing it for me.

I like the branching co-op gameplay. I remember playing Syphon Filter Online with my PS2 and I had always wished that someone would take the co-op espionage / infiltration gameplay to the next level.

The way the device effects like the Sonar play across the world remind me of the scene in "The Dark Knight" where Bruce Wayne sets up the resonant imaging trick to get a layout of the building. Very nice :)

This just moved up from a rent to a possible buy for me. Really digging everything in this video.

I'll wait for final reviews on how the multiplayer is, but I know I want to rent it to complete the campaign.

Def. want to play this, ME2, and Alan Wake on my 360 next year. :)

The co-op looks pretty fun. The graphics don't really look as detailed as I'd hoped, but in this kind of set up, I don't think they matter that much. I'm sure single-player campaign probably plays a little better.

THINGS I LIKE: Being able to climb about everywhere.
THINGS I DON'T LIKE: The 'hiding in the shadows' effect is kinda annoying. But I think you'd get used to it.

If I had a 360, I'd probably pick this game up.

Splinter Cell Conviction is looking good and I can't wait to Prologue it up on Live.

The framerate drops are more of an uploading problem because I've seen this game run smoothly from direct download videos.

That's strange, to be honest. It didn't seem like a video encoding issue, because it appeared as if the frames themselves were causing jankiness. There was also screen-tearing present as well, but as I stated in my earlier post, I'm not worried about any of this. I know that Ubisoft will have everything ironed out by release.

As for LED technology, I know that it is relatively new in terms of HDTV tech, so I can't really say much other than I have seen Samsung sets and they exhibit quite a good color reproduction range and contrast ratio. I actually have a Sony SXRD slim rear projection set, and I really wish that Sony still manufactured them. That thing produces quite possibly one of the nicest-looking HD images I've seen to this day, and my set is 3 years old now.

Meaning the Slim sets out now,[Samsung 8 Series] shine 2 lights on the edge of the set to brighten up the whole panel but the next series from Samsung[ Series 9000] should have LED panels through out the back like today's "LCD" screens which should be more evenly lighted through out the picture. As well, you should be able to dim the lights to offer better contrasts.

Don't listen to all the hype, LED is not new technology like the commercials make it seem. The reason for LED lighting being used now:

1. LED sets delivered higher contrast ratios with finer hue separation between black and white, resulting in better light quality and a more natural picture than LCD sets.

2. LED TVs are also 70-per-cent slimmer than LCD sets and use 40-per-cent less power.

I'm a more bang for your bucks guy, so I wouldn't buy a Sony knowing Samsung make the same or better panels for less. The [Samsung 9000] series will come in 46/55 inches if you can wait.

Wow dude, you sound like a marketing shill for Samsung or something. Did you even read my post? I don't even OWN a flat-panel, let alone plasma or LCD. I just stated I wish that Sony still made them because they were the best modern TV's that Sony produced. BTW, color reproduction and image quality in an SXRD A-Series television is greater than that of a comparably-sized DLP set.

some don't know the difference between an LCD/LED set. The average person does not follow reviews or scour forums about HDTVs. You go to the store and look at the wall[listening to some sales clerk hoopla] and they make a choice or stick with a name brand.

My recommendation for the Samsung was only a recommendation since Sony sets or a bit pricier for no awesome reason. Anyhow N4G is not the place to dabble about HDTVs, go to the AVS forums if you wanna see fanatics.

Them LGs are pretty slick and very thin as well. Man Koreans have stepped up their game the last couple of years. I remember when LG was in he likes of Best Buys [Insignia] brand. Look at them now.

I was going to go and buy one because my aunt has one and it's got a beautiful picture. I like that LG, it's funny you said that about the quality because I found that link on AVS for that TV and the first thing I said was "Hmm LG? I dunno" I'm glad the quality seems to be better. I think I'm shooting for that LG now unless those 9000's come out. Plus the 3D sets, sucks no matter when you buy your always behind.

I personally disagree, a 'true gamer' doesn't need all the consoles. I can't afford all the consoles and games to justify the purchase and I have friends who only play PC who I would consider gamers. Having all the systems is a nice luxury but I don't see it as a necessity.

The only thing was it was too restrictive which I'm told has been fixed in later iterations and more importantly this new one one. Will wait to get this one during a lull in the year. I bought it for a friend as a birthday gift and played it for quite some time. Just like with GT and God of War not much has changed since the PS2 iterations except for the visuals. Apart from even longer cut scenes in MGS4's case.

The only thing I dont like is the screen losing colour when you move into the dark. They didnt want the HUD meter, so I think rather than adding that it would have made more sense to let the player figure it out, if your in the shadows you cant be seen. The changing colour might get annoying

Where was the skill in using a railgun to drop everything in one hit in Metal Gear Solid 4 "Tactical Espionage Action" (If you cant tell, I put parenthesis on it because there's absolutely no stealth or tactics needed for this game, especially when you can purchase ammo straight from your menu).

The mark & execute are rewarded to the players for playing in a stealthy manner. This means they're not just free gifts every time you need it. Also, this is co-op. There's a reason these gadgets exist.

Who actually expected MGS4 to be a proper stealth game? I bought it for the story and epicness. However, I have played all the splinter cells and read the novels, I want a proper stealth experiance like I got with the others. Not seeing through walls or breezing through the game by executing people

I 100% agree with you. The story of MGS4 was top-notch and still tops most games in all of history. However, when a man says that this game looks easy because they give you the option to kill your enemies in a manner that can only be executed by following the game's premise makes me bring up the concept of MGS4 and how it was "meant" to be a good tactical espionage action game but instead was much easier than this.

There is no knocking being done to MGS4, as I own it, and still love every single minute that I played.

To the guy asking about LED HDTV's, They are garbage, right now, the only thing worth gaming on if your going to talk color accuracy is a quality plasma, Think panasonic, pioneer, runco ( if your loaded). LCD and LED's are washed out and very inaccurate.
