The Escapist Review: Stoked: Big Air Edition

Every run (or "Session") has its own set of trick challenges - nail a specific sequence of tricks, beat a point total with X class of tricks, race the pro to the bottom of the slope - but they're completely optional, and for the most part you're free to just explore the mountain as you like. Stoked takes the concept of mountain exploration a bit further: After you've bested 50,000 points on each Session, you're given the proverbial keys to the helicopter, and you can fly all around the mountain and jump out wherever you like to find the perfect run for you - or to just find the tallest sheer drop to suicidally soar off of.

PlayDevil: Stoked Big Air Edition Review

Stoked: Big Air edition was released in 2009 in the US- does the game cut it now it has finally been released in Europe?

"There’s plenty to do, and once you get used to the controls, the frustrations lessen a little. Getting 100% is a monumental challenge, and would take a seasoned gamer dozens of hours, so the game presents a great value proposition if you’re up for the challenge and get past the frustrations."

MSXbox - Stoked: Big Air Edition Review

MSXbox - Stoked: Big Air Edition should be entertaining for fans of the genre; as long as they know going in that it's a straight to business snowboarding game without a main hook other than challenges.

For an updated version of a game that came out in 2009, Big Air Edition just doesn't do enough to justify a purchase for those who bought the original Stoked. However, to those who are thinking about buying this game, I would wait as even at the average price of £25 it still feels overpriced for what you get. This title to me is a rent only or a below £15 purchase at most.
