Quantum Theory: Screens & Concept Art

Tecmo Koei Europe have released 10 screenshots and 9 pieces of concept art from their upcoming shooter, Quantum Theory.

The new images come with the news that Quantum Theory will be now a multiplatform release on the Xbox 360 along with the originally announced PlayStation 3, scheduled for a spring 2010 release date.

Those pics show something way better than what I was expecting so for shooter fans, this could help pass the summer drought I'd think. Let's see more current gameplay in motion though.

on a serious note, come on dude, there are always rooms for other games on the market and more games being made means more games to be enjoyed by gamers. if you wanna stick with gears and stick with the classic "quantum is gears rip-off" mentality, then fine. but don't drag others who think that they want to move on and enjoy something else!

this is exactly like Dante's inferno to GoW. is it a rip-off? maybe, but in reality, it's just another flavor in the same genre so, why not? it's not like EA is pointing gun to everybody and force people to choose DI over GoW.

Just about every game borrows what works from other titles. Last time I checked Gears didn't revolutionize anything. Everything that it has has been done before. Just because people started gaming when gears came out they think all the sh!t that is done on there is new. Just LOL. Like I said, EVERY game uses ideas from other game titles and from other generations. Doesn't matter is it's Nintendo, Sony, PC, or Microsoft.

Seriously, this game is a Gears of War copycat, I'm a PS3 owner and I played Gears 1 on PC so I know what I'm talking about, Dante's Inferno is a Damn GOW Rip-off and this game is a Gears Rip-off too

Tecmo is making the worst move ever, xbox owners already have the Original Game, so why they will buy this and how they'll encourage PS3 owners to buy this game if they use a new PC-based engine for multiplatform development and that can only means a gimped down PS3 version

I still regard Gears1 as one of the best xbox games(even better than part 2) but still, i gotta say, what did Epic really do that was all that impressive before Gears? UT? Sure, Halo borrowed a lot from UT, but I never thought highly of either game.

All I'm saying is, it would be stupid to rule Tecmo out. Sure, NG2 was kind of a letdown, it felt more like a rehash of the original, which people like to forget was pretty damn groundbreaking in its day, but I still have faith they can make a game that will rival Gears quality. Lets just hope its more Gears1 quality and not Gears2.

I looked info on the PS.Blog and the had an interview with the director of the game on TGS '09 and they never say anything about being exclusive to the PS3. It's weird because if there is something Jeff likes to emphasize on interviews is the exclusivity.

Maybe they announce it only for PS3, before the deal with MS was completed. (Or maybe they announced it exclusive for the PS3 so MS went all HELZ NO!, WE NEEDZ TO TAKE EXCLUSIVITY FROM ZONY!.. maybe they wanted to take the chance to get 50 million from them by making it multiplatform... to cover the costs)

Either way, I think they just announce it first for the PS3 to get it out there.

There is absolutely no hype surrounding this game, it looks visually sub par in every aspect compared to gears2 and it's not even from a developer that has a pedigree of releasing games that sell in the millions.So i ask again, why would Microsoft want to pay for this game?Or could it be that they realize that they can make more money releasing the game on two platforms to a potential 60million user base than to a a user base of just 27million?

Now I must say, Rein seems to be on the right track as for how to implement the motion controls. I like the idea of using Natal, but not losing the gamepad in the process. What do you guys think? Is Epic thinking along the right lines for Natal implementation? Or would avoiding the controller all together be a better choice?

I even went to Gamestop so I could see if it was available for pre-order but they just looked at me with puzzlement. They said they never heard of Quantum Theory and I explained to them Tecmo was making it for the PS3 and how it had a Gears of War feel to it. Well after that, they went on saying how it was going to fail and Tecmo never makes good games. They were even laughing about the whole idea of it even coming out for the PS3 and even going as far as saying "It's a waste of time for them to make it at all and they should just give up and make better games for the 360.".

All I have to say is when it comes out, I hope it shuts them and people like them up if Tecmo makes it right.

Edit: Even being multiplatform now, it still looks like a good game and I am still getting it for the PS3.

No I have not played the game but since it seems to be a complete rip off gears with japanese characters I I think Gears is still be better. I was really hyped about the game until I saw the it in action. Base off what I saw Gears is better. I suppose you think Dante's Inferno will be better than God of War 3
