NSMB Wii first week sales in Japan revealed

The first week sales data for New Super Mario Bros. Wii in Japan has been revealed.

However given the hype i wont be surprised if it sells 2.5m the first week alone
ofcourse, unlike NSMB ff13 will be a huge console mover for ps3 in Japan and row
i am waiting for HW numbers but i am quite sure NMSB didnt move that many HW like the previous one

@2.1: Sure, but FF13 is going to be extremely frontloaded and around 70% of the total sales are going to happen first week (with 2m first week F13 is going to reach 3m total sales). FF has always been very frontloaded. In the long run NSMB is going to sell much more than FF13. If you don't believe then just check NSMB DS sales. It had 850k start and has sold 6m in Japan. Japanese just love 2D Mario.

as for questions of whether being frontloaded --no it wont be the case. FF13 will also have longer legs than NMSB.

NMSB flopped in reviews and this is why it wont have long legs . FF13 will easily score over 90 at meta

DS games and wii games are not same . NMSB will reach around 2m lifetime in Japan . FF13 will do between 2.5m -3m

yes this is the most hyped FF13 and with a 4m ps3 base in Japan there is a high chance that it will be the highest selling fF13 in japan as well

also expect huge boost in PS3 HW sales when FF13 is launched. However expect around 70k wii for NMSB week

4 player Mario has nothing going for it?

NSMB DS sold 20 mil+. Find me any FF that compares.

Obviously NSMB wii won't sell as many consoles - everyone who loves nintendo games has a wii. The wii has such high market penetration that it doesn't need to.

FF is overwhelmingly played by men. Girls love mario. You just ignored most of the expanded audience the wii aimed for (probably because you don't talk to many women). You think my gf and her friends like playing mario more or watching me go through FF?

No one cares about ff13. It's all about dragon quest which is on the wii now. Dq has always out sold ff games in japan. Another thing is I don't expEct too much out of ff since most hd gamers have shown their true colors with mw2. You guys are pc fps gamers too cheap to get a pc. If most of you hated gears of war then ff is at the other spectrum of the hate with being too girlie yet not appealing to women.

Ill be glad when it does come out so fanboys can move on to the next game that is going to make the ps3 this gens winner out of no where.

A real game wins out over your realism and mpg quick time event games every time. Hd gaming is no more than a gimmick, bring on the real console games. The pc evny is shamful.

It's easily the best multiplayer game I've ever played - destroys LBP (I own both). Everyone who plays with me agrees, though they also love LBP. I'm big on FPS and own a PS3 yet this is by far my favorite game ever, barely beating SMG.

Doesn't surprise me. Its a fantastic game. Its very accessible. I like 2d mario better than 3d mario games.

One is an RPG the other a Platformer.

Well whatever, but I don't get it, you could add any 3 FF's Life Time to Date sales and they wont add up to any of the 2d Mario's Life Time to Date sales.

A single FF title has never even sold 1/2 of what a 2d Mario has sold, even the recent one on the DS is nearing 20 million sold.

Oh well.

when I'm right, I'm right. This goes to show when i called it from day one that Wii will be the dominant console, i was right, and i was also right when i said Mario kart will outsell all games that aren't pack-ins. So again, I know my stuff and don't get my props. I don't care. Life is good, so good when you know how to predict the future. LOL
