Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. (SCEA) has announced the release of SingStar Latino for Latin America, the latest installment in the multi-million selling SingStar franchise, available for both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 consoles.
Stephanie "Tigresa" Palermo of Spawn Kill takes on SingStar Latino for PS3:
"Well, what makes or break any music game is the end-all be-all: the track list. That is where I teeter back and forth really with SingStar Latino. Being titled "Latino" I expected and hoped for artists such as Juanes, Shakira, Elvis Crespo or Aventura. You know, every Hispanic party "must-haves!" When I booted up the game on my own, I found myself familiar with only around three or four songs total."
I would imagine that seeing the videos (ie a closeup of the actual singer singing) while playing the game would be a distraction.
Well once you know or learn the lyrics it's actually really nice to have something entertaining to look at when singing.
I love La Oreja de Van Gogh, but I think you're probably right that "SingStar Espanol" would have been a better title for this game.
BeefJack writes: "A 'Party Picks' Track Pack is set to hit for SingStar to round off the New Year featuring such numbers as "Relax" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood and "You Sexy Thing" by Hot Chocolate. In addition, there's a couple of standalone tracks for play such as the long awaited inclusion of "I Would Do Anything For Love" by Meat Loaf officially making my personal collection complete."
