The gameplay of Harvest Moon: Animal Parade is an acquired taste, but the satisfaction of building up a successful farm and managing your character's life at your own pace is certainly admirable. Unfortunately, Animal Parade is lacking in the graphical department and suffers from frequent framerate stutters when your character is outdoors. More importantly, chores can often grow tiresome, thanks to overly simplistic mechanics for farming (Press A to water your plants... forever!), but gamers interested in something different can sink an absurd amount of time into Animal Parade. Despite its problems, Harvest Moon: Animal Parade is still worth checking out.

Hardcore Gamer: Natsume, best known as the developers of the Harvest Moon series, have a special fondness for plush animals. Whenever a new game comes out, they always make sure to pair it with one of their adorable plushes as a pre-order bonus.
There are no actual parades. Sorry to disappoint. Go watch the Putt-Putt video, there’s a parade in that one.
