They made 1 or 2 games for the DS and Donkey Kong Country for gba. Why can't they make Donkey Kong Country 4 for the DS? :(

oh ya how did I forget about the jungle climber games those were actually really good from a gameplay perspective but they should of just left the story out of them cause it was really really lame.
they weren't made by Rare though

Jungle Climber is developed by "Paon". Rare made Viva Pinata for DS, they can develop for the DS without problems, I don't know why they won't make a new Donkey Kong Country. :(

Donkey Kong is a Nintendo IP, obviously Rare won't be able to remake it!

It would be impossible as Nintendo own everything DK related,be it diddy,the coconut rap,everything.Nintendo licence companies the franchise as they did with the Snes and N64 versions,but it remans only on Nintendo products.
For Rare to just make DK would be likeNintendo making Halo for Wii,or Sony making Mario Ps3 only.

The reason VP was on DS because Msoft made it a multi-plat title.

I'm hoping that MS and Nintendo can come to some agreement for a DS Donkey Kong made by Rare, similar to the case of Diddy Kong Racing. Probably not going to happen though.

Wow! This site really doesn't know what they are talking about. First the "MS making Sony sweat" article, then that thing about Gears exclusivity (which I posted a comment on that got strangely deleted), and now this article that assumes that Rare owns the Donkey Kong IP.

And...didn't DKC get released by Nintendo for the GBA?

Just that they were the ones who developed the game, and without a doubt would love to be able to do something with it for Xbox 360. But we all know it won't happen.

As I said, gamers will game, everyone else will hate..... The latter is stressful.... I don't want that in my life.

And judging from the comment , the content is silly as well ... why hope they'd do something with it on 360 ? Why not just hope rare get allowed to touch it on Wii instead ?

it's not even as if rare didnt get banjo kazooie too , and other chances to do platform games such as Kameo 2 ....

Anyway my personal opinion on the matter is , even if it was possible , i'd rather not live on some really outdated nostalgia just because once upon a time their Dk and banjo were excellent ... there are a few better platform games studios now than Rare , i'd rather see those take a stab at it .

I said that the title was misleading and flamebaitish because it highlights that something that isn't possible (that Rare would be able, at ALL, to port DKC to the 360) actually IS as if it was a proven fact. Nintendo owns the IP, and therefore, unless Nintendo says so, no one can do anything about it. And guess what: they AREN'T! I think everyone here has realized this.

rtonaey, however, said that they probably didn't mean it like that, and just said that they would want to do something with it, but can't. That makes absolutely no sense, because if they know they do not, then why even bring it up? He's also defending a flamebait headline as one that wasn't. Besides, the site since changed the headline (which proves that they were wrong in the first place). You're now criticizing me for telling him he failed and pointing out the headline again when all you have to do is TO read the headline that was posted to assure yourself that it was a headline that was trying to draw attention to the article to get hits.

And about your comment below, about why my comment was deleted (since your obsessed with me, apparently), I talked about how this same site tried to disprove that Gears of War to PS3 rumor with only the author's word that it wouldn't happen and not delivering any real proof (just rehashing the quote Cliffy made), and asking if we're really supposed to say that the rumor was killed because that author said so. That's what got deleted (for whatever reason I don't know about). But thanks for assuming that I said something stupid. I love when people make assumptions about things they don't know anything about.

And what did I not agree with that wasn't wrong in this article? I'm confused as to what you're criticizing me over there. I think I made my point clear that it is a FACT that Nintendo owns the DKC IP (you're basically criticizing EVERYONE if you're trying to dispute THAT), and I think I made things clear about how sensational that headline was, and how few ways it would've been interpreted.

Donkey Kong franchise is owned by Nintnedo i doubt it will show up on another console unless Nintendo took the route Sega took by developing games. Rare could have made another Donkey Kong game if Nintendo bought them instead of Microsoft.

The video was obviously meant to be taken in a light-hearted, fun sort of way yet a lot of you seem to be bashing it for being exactly that. The video is a review/look back at the game..NOTHING more then that. Enjoy it for what it is! And to DarkPower, just because you don't agree with something, doesn't make it wrong. i still have an snes with dkc. also an nes with dk and dk jr on one cartridge. those games were fun. the best thing about consoles, is not having to put quarters in the damn thing. don't forget the pause feature (not in demon's souls).

I really don't like having to say this because I hate when people just loosely throw it around but, this article is kind of worthless and redundant because of the writer's lack of information, if that being the fact of where the lack really is.
