CSM: The Island of Dr. Frankenstein Review

CSM writes: "The Island of Dr. Frankenstein is a simple and gentle tale of a boy who lives on an island that has been lifted into the sky by fans created by the mysterious Dr. Frankenstein. His primary responsibility is to maintain the machinery that keeps the island afloat, which involves tending to the fans and sucking up the pesky white vapors that slowly gather around them. But, he finds himself doing a lot more than that, including helping villagers with tasks such as procuring candy, chickens, or mechanical parts. There's no violence in the game, making it quite safe for young children, so long as they can read the short text dialogue bubbles that pop up when chatting with non-player characters."

WorthPlaying: The Island of Dr. Frankenstein Review

WorthPlaying writes: "When a Wii game debuts with a $20 price tag, it's either going to be a collection of dull mini-games or it's going to be plain awful. It's an exercise in dull adventuring that all ages would do well to avoid, no matter how tempting you may find the cover art or low price point."

Kombo: The Island of Dr. Frankenstein Review

Kobo writes: "If you are very concerned about even mild cartoon violence (I'm taking Mario stomping on Goomba's heads), Dr. Frankenstein should be an appealing choice. There isn't any killing or violence, just sucking up clouds in a vacuum, fixing broken items and trading items between the townsfolk. The only thing you'll need to worry about is what comes after the kids get done playing a shockingly horrible game that features some of the most disturbingly bad gameplay I haven't seen in a long time."

Diehard GameFAN: The Island of Dr. Frankenstein Review (WII)

The Island of Dr. Frankenstein is immensely likable, funny and charming. Unfortunately, the experience is quite short, and the game offers zero in terms of replay value. It's a shame because, otherwise, this is the best $20 Wii game around.
