Assassin's Creed 2 Graphic Comparison to Show Bad Textures in Xbox 360 Version

Videogameszone created another screenshot comparison of Assassin's Creed 2 between Xbox 360 and PS3 version. In one cut scene you'll see differences in hair and beard texture of one of the character models. On the arms and hands of this character from 360 version wrist bands are missing. Videogameszone recognized that both version have a tearing effect and differences in camera position.

I thought it looked abit crossed eyed, oh well means nothin 2-me ive got the Black Edition cummin 4 me Ps3 (its the 1st special edition ive ever bought 4 a game)

socomnick5283d ago

Why does this site keep trying to pass off ps3 shots as 360 and 360 shots as ps3.

Its obvious that this is just cynamite.de

Pennywise5283d ago

How is denial treating you Nick?

socomnick5283d ago

http://www.gameswire.net/co...

real comparison from a legit website not this doctored crap.

wxer5283d ago

i didn't believe it at the beginning but
after i saw the buttons at the top right

i knew that the PS3 is getting the superior version :)

Darkeyes5283d ago (Edited 5283d ago )

I don't know why people are fighting over this, they look nearly the same!!!! The little edge goes to PS3 as I like the lighting (I prefer lighter washed out colors to dark... But PS3 always has the RGB feature for those you want it a little more darker) and obviously the exclusive PSP content makes the deal for me, but even if you get the 360 version you ain't getting a bastard child.

@Nick... don;t say that the versions are swapped... I can see the buttons in their right place.. http://www.videogameszone.d...

UltimateIdiot9115283d ago

Remember, admitting you have a problem is the first step to getting better.

Anyway, the lightning looks a lot better on the PS3. For me, it destroys a lot of the graphic when all the lighting and shadows are off or missing, way more than color or textures. It's just one of those things I notice.

HDgamer5283d ago

It's a conspiracy, somebody call the WAMBULANCE! Seriously, you should get some help because these conspiracies do not exist. If you strongly believe that then do your own comparison with the 360 with HDMI vs the 360 with Component because you don't own a ps3.

I want to thank you for knocking a few points off my IQ every time I read anything you write.

Information Minister5283d ago (Edited 5283d ago )

Some parts of the game look better on the 360 and others on the PS3. So what? That's expected when you have the same game running on two very different systems. Do we really need to go trough this fanboy crap once more?

The differences are barely noticeable and the game plays exactly the same on both systems. Isn't that what matters?

Megan Fox5283d ago

"The PS3 version also suffers from a lower texture resolution, which affects everything from facial details (you can see freckles and pores on the 360, but faces, lips and hair looks almost universally blurry on PS3), to wall and ground textures, leaves and particle and debris effects.

I know it's almost passé to rag on the differences, but it really does surprise us how large the gap between the two versions is. It does begin to affect the gameplay too when the PS3's juttering and screen tearing starts to rattle the frame during action sequences involving multiple characters. Hopefully Ubisoft can address some of these concerns with a patch as soon as possible, but at this stage, the PS3's version once again lacks polish. "

I think the only thing all these comparison sites are proving is that we shouldn't take any of them seriously as with a little tweak to settings here and there are you will have completely different results. Just get for the system you want to get it on. Both have screen tears, which sucks!

Edit: To all these sites, if the difference in graphics were that big of a deal to gamers then why isn't everyone just buying games on the PC? This is a waste of their and our time. I'd rather they spent their energy on providing comprehensive, unbiased, intelligent reviews.

Greywulf5283d ago (Edited 5283d ago )

the unreal engine is still amazing. But i mean, bloom is amazing right? At the end of the day they always just hide behind gameplay > graphics. Well Most agree, and on the PS3 you gets graphics + gameplay > gameplay.

dragunrising5283d ago (Edited 5283d ago )

Apparently everyone already forgot about the Lens of Truth article from yesterday.

For a quick summary: Graphics of the PS3 and 360 version were on par. Screen tearing on the PS3 version were 3X worse than its counterpart. Also, the 360 version loaded faster even without an install like the PS3 version.

People can spin the graphics issue all they want, or they can be objective and acknowledge the truth.

Here is my source: http://www.lensoftruth.com/...

@ Greywulf- You can believe whatever you want. Doesn't mean your right. It won't make the PS3 version look any better, believe me. One website claiming superiority of the PS3 version doesn't make it right. IGN AU, and Lens of Truth both say otherwise. You can have your screen tearing...and eat it too.

Ghostsmoker5283d ago

Many real gaming magazines and sites confirmed that the Xbox 360 Version looks noticeable better.

HolyOrangeCows5283d ago (Edited 5283d ago )

When you actually turn on the best settings.

Turn on full RGB and Super White, darn it.

MGSR THE HD VERSION5282d ago (Edited 5282d ago )

nope.

lens of truth and gameswire already showed proof.

.....and what is this?

who wrote this?

where does it say that?
http://www.videogameszone.d...

and by the way, this capture of 360's shot
http://i45.tinypic.com/2m62...
from this page, http://www.gameswire.net/co...

beats all of.........this...i don't know pick one
http://www.videogameszone.d...

anyways, that poorly captured crap. i think they intentionally dumbed down the game cause even the ps3 shots look horrid.

HappyGilmore23005282d ago (Edited 5282d ago )

this is dumb... who cares which system it looks better on, because its prolly the same either way. if you search any game on any consloe you will find these things all over. tomorrow there will be another stupid article with the exact opposite bs.

articles like this are just for pathetic fanboys who think they have to prove how good of a system the play.

just play the damn game and shut up

the AC 2 comparison over at gameswire isn't insightful... can't see any differences there. this videogameszone comparison is more detailed.

socomnick5283d ago

MORE doctored huh.

These guys = cynamite.de garbage website that doctors photos go to Lense of truth they provide the best comparisons and they give in depth details and more importantly screen tearing percentages and frame rate.

coolcole935283d ago

I think he needs a lobotomy.

Ju5283d ago

That just shows, which "details" LOT constantly ignores, recently. Not the first time. ("bu...but teh screenteer").

Parapraxis5283d ago

coolcole93, I'm pretty sure he's already had a lobotomy...a botched one.

better graphics on PS3, it's that obvious.

@socomnick: what's your problem? check the link, it's not the website your talking about. It's also easy to spot which version is which by looking at the buttons. calm down, dude.
