Capcom is just not innovated anymore, they're suck.

SinnedNogara5296d ago

The real reason why Capcom put this game on rails. LAZINESS.

mastiffchild5296d ago

No not just laziness-it's just cheaper to do. They can also gloss up the looks more while the gameplay makes so little processing demands. It's a disgrace the way Capcom have teated us Wii gamers this gen. After RE4 was so great they just stopped caring and the excellent OKami port aside their output has been insulting, imo. Not even any SF love for the Wii either? Capcom have relly let their Wii games suffer and apart from MH3 where they hoped to make a killing online(but proved they CAN make us great looking games with ACTUAL gameplay too for the Wii-so why DC Capcom?)it's been all downhill.

Rail shooters offer no value to the gamer and are only worth a rental unless priced cheaply-and this won't be.

"They can also gloss up the looks more while the gameplay makes so little processing demands"

I dont entirely agree on this. Looking at RE:DSC, you can clearly see that the camera moves back and forth in several levels. Usual onrail shooters just have the camera focused on whats infront of you, so everything behind you can be disposed from the memory.
Same goes for DEADSPACE:E.

I do think they could have given the player free-movement.

But as much as i want to agree, i still disagree with the fact peole say its "lazy". Every idea or concept needs time(including trial and error) to give an atleast good/fun experience. In our eyes it seems lazy, but do keep in mind that an onrail doenst offer much, so you better come up with some good stuff to actually make it good.

"Rail shooters offer no value to the gamer "
Actually rail shooters are all about highscore, its a main thing of gaming "gamers" are after.

i though they did it to push the gfx(cause i read it somewhere)

infamous_275296d ago

For me it tightens the experience. Kinda like an action packed movie.

kaveti66165296d ago

They don't need to explain. We understand the Wii. We know that its major competition in hardware performance is the DS.

Ayn Rand is what is wrong with the world.
John Galt is an asshole.

DrRobotnik5296d ago

You have the power. You have the technology. Just build a damn good Resident Evil already. And bring it back to its roots.

DevastationEve5296d ago

Well I personally liked where they've been heading. You have to let go of what RE used to be and realize that it changed. Capcom adapted to the times and the hardware. Think of the standards that Xbox Live and PSN have brought to gamers. Games today are such an awesome experience online.

RE 5 is one great game.

mastiffchild5296d ago

No, it's the worst RE game ever made and a disgrace to the series. If you have a crappy internet connection or no online it's worthless, imo. Sheva is awful, fails to work as an AI partner in SO many ways that it's more of a cacysitting sim in SP than a survival horror game. Even the co-op, which is OK, is only any hood ONCE and even then doesn't feel like suvival horror at all. You have a mate FFS! And don't start me on the joke of the Vs mode!

Massive let down for me and another rail shooter for Wii is just as poor. Capcoms games this gen just don't measure up to their stellar efforts of the past. focus moves wreck SF4 making it weaker as a game than SF2THDR, DMC4 is a joke compared to DMC3 and RE4 is a million times the game that RE5 is. Not that their PS360 games bad but they're not as good as the older ones. Nowhere near.

DrRobotnik5296d ago

When I mean "bring it back to it's roots" I mean that I would like for to be what the title says it's suppose to be. "Resident Evil" Not "Out in the open action shoot-em up". It lost it's sense of direction some were. I'm not saying that their recent games were bad. But that they need to stop calling it resident evil, because it's not any more.

AWBrawler5296d ago

My all time fave was 0. I like 4 and even bought both the cube and Wii one, but i saw there that they were straying from what it use to be. More action and less puzzles. I loved the suspense, horror, and puzzles of the old ones. i even liked the crazy camera angles and odd walking method. it hightened the fear factor.

DatBoiDrew5295d ago

Can you imagine what a new HD version of Resident Evil in the style of 1-3 would be like??? AMAZING

Code veronica
the most difficult RE ever

2pacalypsenow1932d ago

Hell yeah it is.

That tyrant on the plane bit is a pain.

ButchKween1932d ago

That was my 1st entry into the series and yes it's very hard but so rewarding. If you don't play it right you can't actually progress If you're low on ammo 4 boss fight on plane or final boss. or if u don't leave ammo for the 2nd character later in the game in item box. I found that out the hard way. Just FYI even though Claire's the main character you play Chris for the final boss fight you better make sure there's enough items for him in the Box or you are fu@#$d

2pacalypsenow1932d ago

Fun fact, Code Veronica is actually the sequel to 2 and RE3 is a spin-off

IRetrouk1932d ago

Originally yes, it was going to be a spin off with a different lead, they changed it to Jill to tie it into the series and made it a companion title to 2 instead, cv is a sequel to both lol

House of the Dead 3 and 4 should be on the list. I still play Overkill on a regular basis, worth buying a move just for that game alone. The Cabela games that support move are fun too.

sypher3358d ago

Is Rambo, Move compatible? And there is also Child Of Light which is sort of a shooting game.

from the beach3358d ago

Rambo is indeed Move compatible. Child of EDEN is too - I've only got the Kinect version but it's the best Kinect game and probably the best Move game.

No idea how this site missed HOTD 4.. and it remains a great shame more of Sega's gun games from that era didn't make it across to PS3 via Move.

sypher3357d ago

Ah yeh sorry, meant Child Of Eden :p the mizuguchi game. Got the names mixed up lol

Ahmay3357d ago

i wish they also made light guns like the arcade ones. they r faster at aiming and more accurate..
