Good. I'm loving that reviews are knocking a few pegs off of the PC version. 8.5 would be a much more realistic score for a game like MW2. Brings absolutely nothing new to the table. No originality, or innovation. Not to mention the gimped multiplayer.

Agree. MW2 has less multiplayer features than MW1 and cost $10 more. As the reviewer says:
"Paying more and getting less is abhorrent to consumers, and this deterrent, along with the online restrictions, make Modern Warfare 2 much less appealing from a multiplayer perspective"

Pity they don't have the balls to knock off the console version for the things they usually slam -

- Poor textures
- Unremarkable visuals
- Short campaign
- Linear
- No innovation
- Too much variety

Wow, they actually did it. At least they even have the balls to give MW2 an honest review for PC.

ya the console versions should also be just as low or lower activisions clearly reached in to their pockets to come up with some of those scores honestly a 10 for graphics from IGN's just ridiculous and no one in the right mind would say its up there with the best graphically.

It's not worse, matchmaking is a better system for consoles than a long, long server list with a lot of options. Dedicated servers were to us like Xbox Live or the PSN for console players.

No-- there are different standards for PC games and console games. There are expectations for PC games to be standard price. MW2 is not. There are expectations for PC games to support mods. MW2 does not.
There are expectations for PC games to have dedicated servers. MW2 does not.

What is essentially happening is IW/Activision is trying to net more out of PC gamers because they know they already make extra profit out of console gamers, who are used to much lower standards as overpriced maps, paying for skins, etc.

PC gamers will not stand for it and will not let guys like Activision introduce this trend that is popular on consoles.

The PC community are a strong, calm bunch for the most part, but when you anger them, they attack in a collective manner. They are like suicide bombers... except PC gamers sit on their computers and give mass 1-star ratings on websites like Amazon, Gamespot, Metacritic, IGN etc.

You think your safe from them, but visit Gamespot, and see the ridiculous suicide of hundreds of PC gamers throwing away their precious votes to punish IW.

Now, I'm pretty sure MW2 doesn't deserve a 5.5 on PC like the average score on GS indicates for user scores, but I think that this is the best way to try and stop this poison Activision introduced, because if people are going to submit to Activision, then a lot of other devs will jump ship.

What's funny is that DICE is sitting back and picking up the broken pieces. They are promising to support the PC community with the standards of PC gaming, and they now have an opportunistic attempt to totally dominate MW on PC. BF is one of those classic PC games like the first CODs, so this is working out all too well for them.

Now, I'm a worthless, peasant, console gamer. I am used to the standards of no dedicated servers, etc. so I am happy PC gamers are fighting back.

There's no doubt that BFBC2 will dominate MW2 on PC. If BFBC2 was coming out this season, most PC gamers that actually bought MW2 wouldn't even think about getting MW2 over BC2. (unless they're mentally challenged)

Battlefield has ALWAYS been the better franchise. It's been around longer, and has always pushed the bar in terms of technology and gameplay. Whereas COD has remained almost completely unchanged between Call of Duty and Modern Warfare 2.

pc versions are always better, but when you take out the sole reasons pc gaming is more fun than console gaming, you have a less than stellar game.

i mean seriously, they defy all odds by making the game $60... then no mods = not worth the extra cash IMO

First review of MW2 that actually takes the PC version as it is, compared to other PC games or just CoD4:MW. Pretty much every other review gives the same score to all versions for the home consoles and PC.

Gimped. So sad to let down the community that brought them up. No way GoTY if they failed this bad on the PC dept., its just unnaccaptable.
