I can't wait to download this one!

have you played any of the other Socom games on PSP? They are awesome, great online multiplayer with headset support. Actual community much like on PS3 and even a clan system built into the game! It is alot like killzone's clan system, funny how MW2 doesn't even support real clans.

I never realized actually. Perhaps I'll download one if they are around $20 on the Store. If not, I'll just wait for this one. I am really curious now!

Gosh I so want a PS3 version of SOCOM Single Player. Make it more like S1&2 Single Player. After those the SP became way too noob friendly.

@Chu

Noob friendly == "auto aiming" = more sales;
challenging = "teh lagzzz" = "give me my nuclear bombz!!!"

This game is gonna be awesome, good to see Sony supporting PSP/Go with First Party games, is a real awesome handheld

Sony is really doing a phenomenal job of supporting the PSP and PS3 at the same time. 2010 should be just as good as 2009 was with Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, Valkyria Chronicles 2, and Resident Evil PSP. I can't wait!

what I really was referring to in regards to socom is how they made easy check points. In SOCOM1&2 if you died in a 20min mission when you were close to the end you had to start from the beginning.

That way you made sure you were using your men and moving in tactically. Kinda like Demon Souls is now. However for S3&ca they made these checks points that really cheapened the challenge of the game.

You didn't feel like you were an elite Navy Seal with deadly terrorist anymore but rather just another video game getting from point to point.

I sure do miss the second analogue.
Just imagine a HALO type multiplayer game on PSP.....PURE AWESOMENESSSS !!!!

Darkestbeforedawn5280d ago

if the PSP2 didn't have the second analog stick. I'm sure we'll know more at the next E3 or the one after.

One of the things that fails this entire series is lack of promotion by SCEE, since day 1 socom has had almost 0 advertising in the EU, most people don't even know it exists or think its an FPS.

Ok, why have I never played these games?

They sound right up my alley. The tactics, the stealth, the squad commands.

I'd always thought they were aimed more at online play, I never realised the single player was so substantial.

When the first game came out, Conflict Desert Storm came out too and I was really into it, at least for the first two games. Maybe thats why I never got into them.

Now I'm hoping this will be the next HD remake. To be honest I think the fanbase would go nuts over it if all the online features were intact.

Eurogamer.it: I'm tired of the usual game-based political fiction and marines fucksters able to save the world simply on making massacres massacres.
