But if a videogame's worth can be measured by how much of it stays with you after you've put the pad down, then even the most indignant will have few complaints if this hugely anticipated sequel ends up delivering as much as the original did two years ago.

Perhaps the most impressive thing about the original Modern Warfare was the fact that most people didn't put the pad down, devoting untold hours to mastering its thrilling online component long after they'd come down from its monumentally brilliant, if brief, single player campaign. Having mastered such a winning formula, the last thing you expect are radical changes, and so it proves."

A review for once that actually speaks the truth:

"There are also question marks over whether the gameplay remains rather too scripted at times for its own good. As fantastic an illusion as it often is, on the odd occasions that it breaks it provides an awkward reminder of the smoke and mirrors at work here, and how little room for experimentation there really is. It’s also pertinent to mention – as ever – the issues over the single player campaign length. With most players reporting a 6 to 7 hour run through on first completion on Normal difficulty, it’s hard not to feel that Infinity Ward could have easily beefed up the campaign by a couple of hours to justify that price tag just a tiny bit more."

It seems reviewers are either too scared or too full of the money Activision sent them. MW2 will score high even if it has many flaws and DOES NOT INNOVATE AT ALL. That is just really low. If a game like MW2, basically a rehash, can score all these high numbers, how come better games such as KZ2 and Bad company Not get the same? They're much better yet it's the lesser game that gets the best treatment. Sales is not equal to quality.

It's true from an artistic and technical standpoint. The game looks brill and runs smoother than butter. The odd blurry texture still surely exists however.

Not saying you're retarded or anything...but you need to realize the way the REVIEWERS work...

There are games (ps3 exclusives mainly) that get points removed for "No innovation, too much variety, could have been better" remarks...

It's really sad.

1. If u know ur not buying the game, why do you keep looking at reviews?

2. Have u played the game to know what flaws it does or does not have?

3. How many people who purchase Modern Warfare 2 do thk depended on reviews to make a decision for them?

Many of you point out all these negatives yet people are spending 10 hours straight on this game having the time of their lives as we speak. Saaking why do so many gamers want such a blatantly flawed product??? What makes ur opinion on the game better than theirs?

Yeah ok mate. Tell that to the fanbrats who ripped apart Killzone 2 even though it brought some innovative things. First cover system in a FPS and many others.

The campaign is short because of DVD9 and xbox360. The thing fills dvd9 to the max.... and yes, I'm being realistic.

Well, actually that should be high praise from such a site because they only review FPS games so they are comparing this against other FPSs. If they give all FPSs high scores, what does that leave to get low scores?

The gameplay and lastability must really compensate for its average graphics,short campaign and no originality.

Ive just got my copy today and I am half way through. the game so far is good but to much the same as the first one. to me its just a generic shooter with some good aspects in it.
