First Look: Video and Article of Microsoft Surfacing Computing

Larry Larsen from on10.net recently did a more in depth article on Microsoft's new product.

Here is some of what he said,

"About a year ago I gave a presentation to a group of journalists about gadgets of the future and showed a video about a theoretical multi-touch computing system. When asked when we would see something like that in the wild, I optimistically ballparked 5-7 years. You can imagine my surprise when I walked into a room at Microsoft and found a fully functioning Microsoft Surface Computer (more than one, actually.)"

make sure you watch the video.

Though I'm not totally for the zune, the way they use it with this surface computer is very cool.

If the video doesn't work(it didn't with me), you can download it.

But i do hope you can use a stylus or something, because i don't want to put my fingerprints over something so expensive.

Clearly Microsoft engineers have watched enough futuristic movies to make our hearts desire such a device. I know this is going commercial first but I'm curious what sizes are the surface computers available in? Also what depth size are we looking at? Wouldn't it be cool to have a table that's like a Kitchen/Dinning room table size (4 by 6 feet) or even a coffee table that I can read CNN or MSNBC while my kids are working on a school project? Imaging multiple virtual keyboards popping up for the users to interact with one project. I can definitely see some positive things coming out of this. But I can see some negatives as well like the fact you have to lean over the table. That could become uncomfortable if you’re working for long periods of time (say 2 hours or more.)

That has to be the biggest upgrade in "user friendly" computing I think I've seen.

I believe someone posted about this tech by MS a month or two back. Search for it.

but i know the video is definetly new.

If you watch the Movie "The Island" and watch the extras alot of the tech in this movies as far high-tech consumer divices go; it was stated alot of those gadgits were not to far off in the near future and were real concepts on MS's drawing boards although the Xbox-(10, lol) in the movie is alittle out of reach the touch screen tables were already in the movie The Island". LOL

3 more years and we'll probably see it reach the billion mark. Question is, will it be fully released by then?

Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica Remakes are reportedly in the works, not Resident Evil 1

Industry insider Dusk Golem reveals that there is no Resident Evil 1 Remake in the works. Instead, Capcom are reportedly in active development of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica.

RE Zero would be better to do first over RE1 because they can tie the story into RE1 more.

The original RE Remake was weird because Rebecca never mentioned anything about what happened in Zero and it felt so disjointed because Zero was developed during the Remake and they clearly didn't share any notes with one another.
