PC version seems to be the way to go.
Although I rather not play games on PC :(
I am a fanboy of Console gaming.

DAO is a spiritual successor to Baulder's Gate, it's a whole experience on PC.

As far as graphics go, the PC version has a definite visual, and frame rate advantage, and that was with a pretty modest gaming rig. You can get a 4870 for $125. For the console versions, the PS3 version snubs the 360 version for the most part. In some of the scenes it didn't even look like the 360 version had dynamic shadows...

tda-danny5304d ago

Congrats? Thats for sharing. You've missing out on the best platform for DA:O with your close minded view.

And before you say anything, I have ps3/xbox/wii/pc - so I really don't care what version people buy, but theres no questions the PC has the best one.

WildArmed5304d ago (Edited 5304d ago )

yes because DO:A on ps3/360 have different story then PC. Do you even listen to yourself?

I buy all my games for consoles with few exceptions (L4D.. pc was the way to go). I dont deny myself of PC exclusives games like crysis. I prefer consoles and thats that.

Is my pc connected to a 60' HDTV? no.. a 7.1 surround system? no.
'you've missing out on the best platform for DA:O'
thats an opinion, guess who is the closed-minded person here?

oh and a corrented statement: I am a fan of console gaming.
4got fanboy has an extreme undertone on N4G

tda-danny5304d ago

I'm closed minded because I looked at the press releases for each version, watched videos and read the multiple reviews that said the PC version > Console versions?

I'm happy that you're PS3 is hooked up to a 60" TV, mine is also hooked up to a 61" Samsung HDTV with surround sound, but thats doesn't make the dumbed down console port of DA:O better than the superior PC version. People have great PC setups also - mine has 5.1 surround on a large screen monitor. Maybe if you were stuck playing on a 17" CTR monitor with crappy Dell factory speakers it would suck, but the game itself is better on the PC.

Like I said, I don't care what version people buy, as I like gaming - not fanboys, but the PC version of DA:O is better, and its proven - not an opinion.

jdktech20105304d ago

PC is the way to go because it can handle more.

There's no radial menu (annoying as anything to me)

More enemies on screen (the same battle that has 3 people on 360 version has 6 or more enemies on PC) and therefore more difficult

The toolset will allow for mods and custom stories (assuming mod community takes off)

Not to mention the graphics are better if you have a decent GPU

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is that if you can run it on PC, it's your best bet value and graphics wise

WildArmed5302d ago

I'm sorry if you fail to see my point.
My Computer IS NOT set up for gaming.. so obviously for me the DA:O PC is not the 'best' option.
You need to stop assuming the world is perfect and everyone has everything. Coz thats not how live works..
I have other priorities then to pimp out my PC rig... so i could care less.
my console version > PC version if I play it with the equipment i have.. FACT.

3sh!tty version looks washed out.

jdktech20105304d ago

Even if that's true, PS3 version looks ancient compared to a PC with a decent graphics card...what's your point?

How'd fallout not make the list. Atleast over cyberpunk, tales , and halo. Fallout been around since what 96 98 and has 5 6 games into it. It's full of lore when you play it. I'd even add star ocean to a point.

robtion500d ago

Agree Fallout should be on there.

MadLad500d ago

And somehow Planescape Torment doesn't even make the list.

Crows90500d ago

Hollow knight surpasses these.

shinoff2183500d ago

In lore? I must be missing something

Crows90500d ago (Edited 500d ago )

Yes in lore. Easily missed... absolutely. Never played a game that had me loving the world and lore behind it as much as that one. Most of course wouldn't be able to experience it since it is a more difficult game.

DarXyde500d ago

I can't speak for all titles on this list, but by the time you get to Dark Souls III, the lore is a bloody tapestry of intricacy

Crows90499d ago

Played them all. Im not saying the games on the list dont have good lore...I just think hollow knight had more lore that is hidden but present and more easily explored and accessed. The souls games have tremendous lore but theyre mostly hidden and stay that way unless you look for it and research it. The lore is not very accessible.

DarXyde499d ago

Crows90,

I think that's a somewhat fair assessment. For me, the Souls games are less upfront about the lore, but it does invite your fascination through NPCs, items, locations, bosses, etc. There's this kind of natural progression where the picture becomes just clear enough by doing the essential tasks, but it really makes you want to explore every inch of the world.

TheColbertinator500d ago

Suikoden and Legend of Heroes also have massive lore setups.

agent13500d ago

narration is more important than lore i'd rather watch the story and characters in a more cinematic way instead of searching for notes and stuff that's why i love sony exclusive games like uncharted and gow and hate from software games

shinoff2183499d ago

The article was top ten lore in video games. I think they did a bad job picking games out. I know what you mean though. I just like a variety of games and genres.
