Halo 3 Single Player Missions Revealed

Hacking skullduggery around the Halo 3 beta has revealed some new tidbits of information, including some of the single-player missions that may make it into the final game.

More specifically, a list of Achievements has been uncovered. In among the Achievements are what appear to be level names. Included in the list are: Jungle, Base, Outskirts, Voi, FloodVoi, Wasteland, Citadel, High Charity and a level on Halo itself.

Also included in the list of Achievements are the tough to find skulls, which in Halo 2 altered a level's gameplay.

The list of Achievements is unlikely to be final, since one of those listed bears the title "placeholder" suggesting there's still work to be done.

Highcharity and Outskirts are Halo 2 missions, also the first mission would msot likely take place on the Forerunner ship that the Prophet of Truth is one rather than a Jungle.

... the story will likely have progressed substantially from the end of H2. So much in fact that Bungie and Marvel are releasing 4 comic books starting in July to bridge the gap.

Its Bungies tradition for all Halo games to start on a spaceship of sort:

Halo 1: Started on the Pillar Of Autmn.

Halo 2: Started on Cairo Station.

Halo 3: Will most likely start on the Prophet Of Truths Forerunner ship.

Also it is tradition that the second mission starts with a crash landing of some sort:

Halo 1: Escape Pod crashes on Halo (Installation 004/Alpha Halo).

Halo 2: Pelican Dropship crashes in Old Mombasa after taking enemy fire from a Covenant Scarab.

Halo 3: ????

Also those comics will msot likely fill in the gaps between Halo 2 and Halo 3, but there are not all focused on the Chief himself, there is atleast a two week gab between the destruction of New Mombasa in Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Just like there is over a month gab between Halo 1 and Halo 2.

... Halo 2 starts on High Charity, and then moves to Cairo Station, at least as actual setting in the game go.

Bungie has already said that Halo 3 will start many months after the end of Halo 2, and it will feature a “thoroughly conquered” Earth.

I think that these comics will serve as much purpose as “First Strike” the novel did in the Halo Universe explaining many things that are critically important, such as how Johnson survived, etc.

Halo 3 may start on a space platform of some kind, but I doubt it will be the Forerunner ship.

Whore boy the story sells Halo have you been paying attention to angry Halo fans when the story isn't done right. Many millions buy it for the story only getting into multi player later on. Hell i talk to plenty of people that hate Halo multi player but do want to finish the fight.

I loved the single player in 1 and 2 more than the multiplayer. I love the multiplayer too, but the campaign is why I buy.
