CasualGamerChick - NOV 04 Nancy Drew: Warnings at Waverly Academy Review

CGC writes: "Nancy Drew: Warnings at Waverly Academy is an adventure/puzzle game for the PC. The goal of the game is to figure out who has been leaving the threatening notes to the students attending Waverly Academy. Nancy goes undercover as a student at Waverly Academy and quickly finds out only Valedictorians are getting the letters from the "Black Cat".

Players take on the role of Nancy Drew and have to find out the identity of the Black Cat. Nancy finds herself back at school and interacting with students all over again. Pieces of the story line are revealed as Nancy meets the other girls on her floor and starts to ask questions. The questions lead to other questions and answers are revealed if you ask the right questions. There are, usually, multiple questions to ask until the player has asked all of the questions."

Although the setting and character types are sure to be appealing to the girls HER Interactive is targeting, after a few conversations with your dorm-mates it becomes painfully clear that this game was not written by someone who has much contact with teenage girls. Nance's roommate announces that something is "hinky." To put this in context for you, I had to ask my fifty year-old father what that word meant."
