GamersInfo Review - Nancy Drew: The Haunting of Castle Malloy

GI.net: " Dear Nancy: It's about time someone developed a game worthy of your literary acclaim. Reading your books as a child, I never thought I would someday be solving your mysteries from a computer screen instead of a paper page. You age well, and The Haunting of Castle Malloy stands as one of the best Nancy Drew games I've played in my short career of reviewing.

When you asked me to come to Castle Malloy with you, I was thrilled. I was ready to don my favorite kilt and learn the musical language of the Bohran, but then, surprises of surprises, there was a mystery waiting for us on the castle grounds. It seems your friend Kyler can't keep a man in the house. Her groom Matt up and disappeared, leaving you, the maid of honor, and me, your clumsy sidekick, on the case of the cold-footed fiancé."

Nancy Drew Outsells Far Cry 2 in October PC Sales

October was a big month for PC gamers because, unlike previous months where Blizzard and Maxis have owned the charts, there were several high profile PC-centric games releasing, including Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, and Crysis: Warhead.

Not really surprising actually, PC sales has always been like this. Even when Spore was released, Nancy Drew was right on Spore's tail in sales.

What a mad world we live in...

Probably because Far Cry 2 SUCKS. Well, that is my opinion of it anyway. Wish I never wasted my money on it.

But games like Nancy Drew always sell MILLIONS of copies on the PC.

What's wrong with the world? XD

And the PS3 has no good games.

Seriously, don't be stupid.

But but... sales are ALL that matter!

Nancy Drew > FarCry confirmed I guess.

Nancy Drew...GOTY confirmed?

I was really disappointed in Far Cry 2 though. I guess I got on the hype train and about half way through it got derailed. It wasn't exactly what the reviews made it out to be. I guess its just another case of hype influencing scores.

It was a great technical achievment and the missions were fun (before they became repetitive), but the world was just annoying.
