Id say the install base being smaller than it was in the ps2 days but i dont know. Also though in my opinion i think the first R&C game was a huge hit for kids and i think most Ps3 owners around launch and a little after were at least 16 and up because of the high price most parents would of bought their kids 360's or Wii's, this is all just my opinion though.
and like the article mentioned the lack of online play. It kinda makes SOME people wanna wait till the game drops in price to purchase it but then by that time they could of just forgot about it or their could be something better out.

im 27 and I could not wait to play the first release, I just love these old school platforms.
But I do think that this sort of game play is going out now, not forever it will return, but for now guys just seem to wana shoot guns, and do it online
hey hate me for this but id pick god of war collection instead of r and c any day yet i love the series man ps3 has too many good games this year my wallet is crying :(
