Borderlands "selling out everywhere"

It's just the guy trying to hype up his game. At least in NY it isn't selling out. I went to several gamestops and they all were selling to nonpreorders. And toysrus had plenty also.

But it doesn't matter cause I picked it up free with the toysrus 3 for 2 sale. Woohoo!

it sold for $40 CAD (for 24hrs only) at Walmart, Bestbuy & Futureshop!! Gamestop/EBGames wouldn't do price matching like they did will Batman AA.

From what the Walmart clerk told me, all the Walmarts only received about 20 copies (10-PS3 & 10-360)... I believe this was the reason for 95% of the Walmarts being sold out. Bestbuy stores apparently had line ups before their stores opened this morning.

I got mine... just like when Batman hit the shelves, I wasn't going to pass up a brand new decent game for $40.

Incidentlly, when I went to EBGames the clerk there told me that I can trade the game in for $40 if I finish it and don't want any longer. So, I can actually buy the game finish it and get my money back! WOW! I don't typically trade games in, only if it's a real sh!tty game... I've only ever traded one game in for my PS3 and was R6V2... what a piece of sh!t that was!

yeah, I got a copy from walmart as well for $40... and honestly, I wasn't even planning on buying this game until I saw the one day price tag! hopefully this becomes more of a trend.

I wasn't planning on buying either... it was going to be put on the "wait until it hits the bargin bin" category!

Same thing with Batman... BUT holy smackers, Batman turned out to be an awesome game even though it used the overused Unreal Engine 3 and the characters looked like they all bathed in vaseline!

Borderlands actually look very good on the other hand... maybe from here on in, games that use the UE3 should all use the cell shading style.

They had a million copies at my gamestop. But three people standing in front of me bought it when I picked up my copy. I like the game so far, but the world seems kinda "empty" so far.

i'm not sure if its cuz my parents always corrected me when i was younger, or if it's because of my english profs but i cant stand certain gramatcial errors.

also, disagrees? sooo am i wrong? plz enlighten me! I seriously want to know why im wrong because i am under the impression that when one says
"doing good" that refers to a certain subject causing good to happen in the world aka a do-gooder ( as in what the old school tv show/cartoon villains would refer to the heroes as... damn those meddling do-gooders.) On the otherhand, doing well, well(or poor in the opposite case) describes the immediate status of the subject.

On topic... I cant WAIT to play Borderlands!

Well, you just committed a whole mess of grammatical errors yourself in that paragraph. So... I don't know what you're getting at. I think a lot of us on these comment boards know how to write correctly, but that doesn't mean we're going to take the time to do it, because we're not getting graded on it. If grammatical mistakes get to you so much, then I'm amazed you can even tolerate surfing the internet.

Borderlands is what Fallout 3 with better FPS controls would be. Except that it's co-op! IF you like Fallout 3, you'll love Borderlands! Just don't expect a gripping story.

A FPS game with RPG elements, with 4p co-op and LOTS to do. What's not to like?!

I hope so. The one thing about Fallout 3 that really surprised me is the amount of dialogue available. I snuck into that police station full of super mutants and thought I'd listen in on their conversation. I cannot believe the amount of dedication the developers had to the dialogue. Or also, sometimes while I was walking past a city area, I could hear and sometimes see fights breaking out in the cities and explosions occurring. There was this one explosion I will never forget, where a vehicle must have blown up in the city during a fight, and as I stood in the middle of the desert part of the wasteland, a piece of the car (the door I think) flew all the way from the city and landed at my feet. I'm not sure if it was scripted to happen that way, but I was so impressed by it.

I hope Borderlands has moments like these. It seems to me that only Bethesda could deliver that kind of experience.

If you liked Fallout 3 because of the story and the atmosphere, you'll hate Borderlands.

But if you more into shooting and coop and don't care much about story and characters, you'll most likely prefer Borderlands.

The game looks great, but I'm mad that IGN didn't give it a higher score, despite the fact that in the video review I hear mostly praises and the only cons to the game is that it's not for people who don't like loot hunting. I don't get why it had to be an 8.8 when it could have been a 9.0 or 9.2. I don't want to rely solely on reviews, but I'm a budget gamer. I don't like taking risks with games.

It may or may not be a marketing ploy.

They create a false sense of demand exceeding supply and that since it's sold out everywhere, it must be something you really, really have to get as soon as possible.

Guess we'll see when NPDs or sales reports come out, but this game seems to me to only be on the radar of SOME hardcore gamers.

I don't think it has mass market appeal. (most regular gamers are looking towards COD4, nobody I know personally has even heard of Borderlands)

Again, well wait and see, but It really sounds like intentional under-shipping to me. (Unlike a game like Demon's Souls, which the publishers really didn't think would have as much demand).

Also, with the suspected viral marketing (which really seemed to have been happening) I would not be at all surprised if T2 attempted this squeezed pipeline approach as well.

This game has sleeper hit with big sales written all over it. I could see millions selling. I think this and Dragon Age will push good numbers. on both 360 and PS3.

I am a level 15 soldier right now and am loving this game to death. My friends are picking it up this week so i am looking forward to playing this with them. I can understand this game selling out. This is one of my top 5 games of 09.

I love the single player very much, i can only imagine how much of a greater experience this game will be with 3 other friends.
