Bayonetta Famitsu score is real - 360 40/40, PS3 38/40

SCRAWL: "That perfect score for Bayonetta is no hoax. This week's issue of Famitsu has leaked tonight and the scans prove that Bayonetta did in fact receive a perfect 40/40... on Xbox 360, at least. The PlayStation 3 version of the game wasn't as up to par, according to Famitsu, scoring the game a 38/40."

ZBlacktt5312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

ownage? No son, ownage is you for buying a console with the worst reliability rating in the history of video games. How's it feel to be a sucker? Then it's a old school DVD player? No Wi-Fi? No AAA games? and you pay to play online? For what? Yes, you got owned alright.

Besides, does anyone really care for this game? I mean come on, on the grand scale of things set to release and ones just put out. For the PS3 that is.

O_o Wow! you are like the most hated on waste on the forum, lol... congrats! Your opinion means zero.

Man_of_the_year5312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

I have no problem owning the highest failure rated console. I also had a PS1 which was also the highest rated failing console during its time, i also had a PS2, which was also the highest failure rated console during its time, and yet i loved all the games that were on both consoles, just like i love all the games that i am playing on the 360 and PS3.

Only difference is, with the PS1 and PS2 i had to buy new consoles to replace the broken ones, but with the 360, i have had 3 RROD's and have not paid a cent for repairs or shipping. And i still get to play the best version of multiplat games and the great exclusives the 360 has AND the PS3 have to offer.

ZBlacktt5312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

First off, thanks for you're honesty on all the broken Xboxes you've gone through. As far as PS1 breaking? Here, he is mine from the mid 90's.

http://i29.photobucket.com/...

Infact, here, this a some on my console's. I'm not having a single issue with things breaking. The PS1's and 2's are from the lanuch time. I used to hook the two PS1's together with a link cable to play head to head C&C with friends that you see from pictue one.

http://i29.photobucket.com/...

As far as "best versions" of video games. Get a better TV. I can assure you these side by sides are nothing of real issue. Adjust you're TV settings. Funny though, if a Blu-ray movie looks 80 times better than a DVD movie and exclusive PS3 games look a 100 times better than anything on the Xbox. You think multi console games are much different?

As far as the PS1 and PS2 being high fail rates. I guess selling 125,000,000 PS1's and 138,000,000 PS2's really reflects that bad product well. Look at the Xbox'es record. Look at it's sells chart compared to the PS3. People are waking up to that fact that it is the biggest hardware failure product in the gaming history. I'm a 30+ year gamer. I love games period. But 4 years, 7 console variations later we are still seeing a record fail rate is totally uncalled for. We both have seen consoles come and go in our lifetime of gaming. We both know if the Xbox was made by someone other than MS, say Sega. It would have been dropped in year 2 after the first billion in lost revenue due to the massive repairs. You know this to be a fact.

ZBlacktt5312d ago

To the person that disagreed with my statement about. You should remain hidden. You fail in gaming and a lack the experience in this conversation.

Man_of_the_year5311d ago (Edited 5311d ago )

Just because you didn't have the experience of a system breaking doesn't mean that there wansn't a lot that did. I know guys that have their original Launch 360...you and i both know that they can't say that there isn't a problem with faulty hardware in the 360 just because theirs didn't break.

I too had the Lan cable and played Doom and Red Alert back in the day with my brother's back to mine while we played. Good times.

Also, i own a 48' 1080p LCD Samsung HDTV and a 36' 1080i LCD Samsung HDTV. I can assure you my tv's are some of the best HDTV's on the market for gaming on. It has been proven time and time again that multiplats run and or look better on the 360. I don't need to justify this as you are also a member on N4G and MUST have seen the comparisons. As a matter of fact, there is a comparison right now for Brutal Legend...If you are truely a gaming and are "in the know" then there is no way you can refute the FACT that even though the trend is becoming smaller and smaller, multiplats are still showing better performance on the 360.

Bottom line, the PS1 and PS2 are the highest failure rated consoles for the corresponding generation of consols, and i still bought them and enjoyed them. Remember the days of having to turn your PS1 upsidedown just so that it would read the disc? I had 3 PS1's and 3 PS2's. I own a PS3 AND a 360 because i am a gamer. MS has not charged me a cent for the faulty consoles, however Sony did for theirs.

Im sensing a bad port from Sega. FFS, if you cant get around the PS3 by now, dont even bother.

Dragun6195312d ago

I hope that Sega fixes whatever the issues are by the time it releases here in the states next year, because there isn't really any excuse for a bad port, especially now as most developers are catching on with PS3's architecture.

Reibooi5312d ago

Considering it PS3 version is lower by only 2 points I really don't think it's that big of a deal. From the Demo the game still looked great and I really don't see what the fuse is all about. Granted there were not any points in the demo where the frame dropped which is one thing they have said is a issue with the PS3 version but Sega has time to fix the game a bit before the US release.

gamingisnotacrime5312d ago

strange, the demo was rock solid.

Either way im in a crusade against "profesional" reviews with not set standards except when the franchise is beloved. Once a fellow N4G user questioned my trust on amazon reviews or unknown fellow gamers in N4G. All i have to say is that i have been lucky to chat with some gamers here about game reccommendations and they have been spot on. The gaming media is not trutsworthy (maybe pslifestyle, they deliver quality), and each day i rely more and more on fellow gamers on online retails and some N4G users that dont bash games, for example thx to fellow gamers in N4G i got Shadow of the Colossus and that game is a GEM!
One love to all, i trully love gaming, just like there are sport fans, iam a gaming fan

If you can get your hands on Demons Souls dont hesitate, what an experience

poopface15312d ago

38/40 is still really good, but Ill be playing it on 360 since I have the choice.

Darkstorn5312d ago

Wow, I was not expecting such a high score for this game.

callahan095312d ago

What a joke. I played the PS3 demo, and it ran smoothly, so I don't know where the complaints about the port come from. If two of the reviewers gave it a 10 on both platforms, what the hell was up with the other two who felt like taking a point off of the PS3 version? (Or did different people review the two different versions, and if that's the case, then why would they have different reviewers for the two different versions?)

But all that's besides the point... it just isn't a perfect score worthy game. Of all the dozens of incredible games over the past 10 years that did not get a 40 from Famitsu, they really think that this game is better, and more worthy of a perfect score? The demo isn't the full version, I grant you that, but it had some pretty plain level design, not very exciting boss battles, kind of trite battle mechanics, and just all-in-all it struck me as kind of an average game amongst the likes of Devil May Cry, God of War, Ninja Gaiden, etc.

mal_tez925312d ago

WTF is Bayonetta? Am I the only one to have no idea what this game is?

MikeGdaGod5312d ago

i have never heard of this game!!!

cyberwaffles5312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

i'm curious to know what their review scores are for ninja gaiden 2 and ninja gaiden sigma 2. if the 2 points discrepancy is so prominent between these two versions, surely NGS2 would get a significantly higher score.

EDIT: is anyone having a hard time logging in on PSN? i want to play MAG dammit.

kaya5312d ago

never heard of it either o.0

Foliage5312d ago

Famitsu has for some time used different reviewers for a game on both platforms. If you swap the games between the reviewers you'd probably be seeing a 38/40 for the 360 version.

This is like comparing a review from two different websites.

But fanboys like to over-embellish everything, so go nuts.

rockleex5312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

Hopefully.

I don't think 1-2 framerate drops are enough to lower one full point from 2 of the reviewers, unless it is horrendously choppy framerates that distract from the game.

sunnygrg5312d ago

This still wont change the fact that the PS3 version will downright outsell the 360 version in Japan. Just saying though, and yes I have played both the versions and yes the 360 version does indeed run smoother.

The 15312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

I just won't believe people are surprised by this, the differences were pointed out at TGS and by all the comparison people since then. This has nothing to do with Sega and everything to do with PS3. Just because PS3 has a few games with 5 or 6 year development times with super developer teams doesn't mean it is the more capable console. With two different teams the 360 version was not held back so they can match it with the PS3 version, simple.

sirbigam5312d ago

Lol this game is suspect.....

rockleex5312d ago

Just like how The Orange Box PS3 version's problems had nothing to do with EA porting instead of Valve?

Right.

ABizzel15312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

What do you guys mean only 2 points less. There should be no difference at all, it's inexcusable to have a bad port at this point of time.

Tekken 6 scores surprised me. 33/40

andron5312d ago

If the difference is only 2 points then it can't be that bad a port.

But I will play the demo before deciding if I'm getting this one. Would really hope Sega could optimize it before release in the west next year, but that probably won't happen...

redsquad5312d ago

I've heard of it, but just never cared about it. Everything I saw looked underwhelming and to be honest, I'm still not convinced.

Syronicus5312d ago

Poor ports get no money from me. If you have not figured out how to port a game by now, maybe you should look into some other career... Like underwater basket weaving?

frostypants5312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

Bayo-whatta? Who cares? Have 360 fanboys really been reduced to putting all their hope into this?

BLuKhaos5312d ago

PS3 outselling all the other consoles in the US, Japanese reviewers scoring the 360 versions of games higher?

Either way the PS3 demo was pretty good. The game ran at a silky smooth 60fps during battles at all times. So I guess the Sega Port won't be a bad one like the Orange Box.

4Sh0w5312d ago

This game looks like major fun on either system, but of course fanboys will just like to analyze the small differences.

Consoldtobots5312d ago

this is a situation that wont change until both GT5 and GOW3 release and sell nillions of units. Right now there is no incentive to create a separate budget, team and development process for a Ps3 version of a multiplat. The rationale is that there is little payoff for the effort to maximise a title for the Ps3. Of course I disagree and know the real reason is fear of pissing off the 360 fanbase.

MEsoJD5312d ago

convinced me not to get the game. That's fine, the only game I might

get now after demons souls and uncharted 2 is Ratchet and Clank.

Ldubbz5312d ago

I have been saying how epic this game is since I played it at E3, and this score serves to validate that. I doubt it will necessarily get perfect scores from everyone else, but I expect them to be high.

People on here masquerading as gamers...you people do know that this is Kamiya making this game, right? RE2? Viewtiful Joe? DMC? Okami? If this game wasnt on radar at all, and you like action games, then you are no gamer. I found DMC4 to be sorta boring, but Bayonetta was instantly much better right from the get go.

And where is this nonsense coming from with some people saying that Batman AA looked better on PS3? From the IGN review:

"If you want to start a flame war, the graphics tend to be sharper on the Xbox 360 when compared to the PS3, which packs a 1.2 GB install that lasts for three minutes"

Seriously, why do people reach for something thats not there?

The 15312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

EA has nothing to do with this. This is happening with almost every game from plenty of developers. It's also getting worse and the only thing that explains the differences getting worse again is these new games are getting more impressive technically, showing PS3s weakness even more. If developers don't deliberately scale back their games because of PS3 being the lowest common denominator we will see more gaps like we see in Bayonetta, Operation Flashpoint 2, Dirt 2 and so on.

The 360 has a faster GPU, Better Graphics Card and more memory also unified. The lead platform doesn't matter the 360 will come out on top or on par every time and that's just the visuals I won't even get into the way these games run on each console. Borderlands is showing some differences now.

Persistantthug5312d ago

The PS3's GPU (550 MHz) is actually "faster" than the one in the XBOX 360's (500 MHz).

However,The XBOX 360 has some extra features. Some of those features can be complemented if done by the CELL PROCESSOR, and that's where the problem is. Some Developers aren't programming for the CELL and are trying to stick with what they've always known with linear operations instead of programming with parallel programing techniques.
There's no question that if done so, the results can be astonishing...Graphics that rival some of the best PC games. Uncharted 2 is the latest shining example as it is the current CROWING POINT ACHIEVEMENT for all console graphics technology.

pixelsword5312d ago

...I'm sure the magazine is excellent for the audience they cater to, but they score things not according on how I like to play games; so it's great for the 360 version of Bayonetta, but not necessarily good for me.

Who cares if the ps3 version is missing a pixel or two, we have games like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2, enough said. Troll.

Dude Raider and Sh1tzone 2? No thanks

Saaking5312d ago

That the best you can do? Dude raider? haha, lmao at you. I played the demo on the PS3 and it was great.

ZBlacktt5312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

chrisulloa,

So Halo is a wannabe Boba Fett? Been a boring year for that console hasn't it, lol. While you keep seeing all these GOTY titles over on the PS3 come out, lol... then the epic reviews. Do people laugh when you say Halo as in a hardcore gamer? Just wondering.

wth? Your liked here, lol.

Blame Sega for the bad PS3 port, too bad.

WIIIS15312d ago

Thought you were going to blame 360 for holding back PS3, but I guess some people do understand that it is the console with the inferior game that is doing the holding back.

Syronicus5312d ago

You wish bud, you wish. The future of gaming is found in the greater hardware and while the PS3 will continue to see great games come out with better graphics exclusively, the only thing you and the rest of the 360 fans have to hold onto is a few better looking multiplatform games. Keep holding on to the dream and the rest of us will continue playing games like Uncharted 2 and looking forward to games that obliterate anything found ont he 360, even the mighty multiplats... lol

oohWii5312d ago (Edited 5312d ago )

haha, looking at your avatar and then reading your comment, it's pretty funny they actually match. That comment sounds exactly like something that would be said by the guy in the avatar pic.

Quite interesting...lol

One more thing, when the PS3 gets an inferior multiplat, it's "the lazy developers fault". However, when the 360 gets an inferior port (Although very rare) it's "The power of the PS3". Haha, do you guys realize how much you sound like little spoiled girls.
