R&C - One of the most beloved series that's getting great reviews

Halo Wars - Dumbed down console RTS
Halo ODST - 6 hour expansion with lame firefight. I have all 1,000 gamerscore and Recon armor so I know what I'm talking about.

How the tables have turned! Now us PS3 fans can tell the 360 fanboys how their console doesn't have any AAA exclusives :P

Simple. They already gave Uncharted 2 a 9.5 and Demon's Souls a 9.4 this month. If they wanted to rate this the same or higher than the last one, they'd have to go 9.4 or higher, and they don't want to give out that many 9.4's to PS3 exclusives in this short of a span of time. It has nothing to do with what score the game deserved -- it's political. Also, they don't want to make people think this is on par with Uncharted 2, for whatever reason. But they could have easily mooted that by giving Uncharted 2 the 9.9 or 10 that it deserved. Then if they gave out a 9.4 or 9.5 to this game, it would be the same point difference between the two games as it currently is.

it has little to do with politics and more of how much a fan you are of the franchise. jeff haynes, ign's #1 ratchet fan scored tools of destruction. it was the first ratchet on the new ps platform and it was fresh. this reviewer, ryan is not a harcore ratchet fan. so fan bias goggles aside this review is more on point. while I'd love to see ratchet get higher, its still in the top tirr of gaming excellence and wil further show sony unique and very diverse software catalogs to the ps fanbase. at 299 a ps3 a rachet game with sonys awesome marketing in recent. this ratchet will fill lots of christmas stockings way before christmas. good review. but understand that the ps team at have tastes and its good to know they all agree about a good game. I found that the campaign for both games were about on par(minus the lack of splitscreen for R2), but the addition of the Online Co op missions really made R2 feel like the better game to me. There was something about playing with 7 other people wrecking the Chimera that i really enjoyed. If there was splitscreen for R2 it would be no contest in my opinion.

The list of changes from ToD is very short. Uncharted 1 was a great game while Uncharted 2 is MUCH MUCH better. They could have improved some things in A Crack In Time, such as the insanely low difficulty (especially when weapons power up a bit). I know there is a hard mode but it'll probably be easy. I can't understand why they could have some local or online multiplayer or coop when the PS2 games had it.

In fact if some game deserves to be called AAA is Demons Souls regardless if it gets a 9 in meta.

Why? because gaming those days have turned casual, accessibility is the key word. WiiFits, Halos, CoDs even UCs are the games appealing the masses and reviewers bow to the masses (costumers). I never expected Demons Souls get an AAA status or even a lot of 9+ considering how hard, punishing and hardcore the game is. That is the very statement of Demons Souls quality.

Being 90+ on Metacritic averages shouldn't be the judgment for whether a game is AAA.

AAA is in the eye of the beholder, and according to IGN, this game is AAA.

Even though Demon's Souls is at an 89 on Metacritic, the MAJORITY of its scores are 90+, which means that the MAJORITY of reviewers think it's AAA, and therefore it'd still be fair to call it that based on the Metacritic listing.

Even considering how challenging DS is, 6/10 is waaaaaay off the average, but then gamervision score did an incredible job dropping DS meta down to 89.

For everything Infamous does well there’s a counter-balance of agitating design decisions.

(Infamous was robbed of it's AAA status because of the extreme Sony bias and hate. Just look at the reviews above. Anyone that has played the game knows that it's not in the 60s.)

It had a pretty neat concept, but it really annoyed me at times. Not because of the difficulty (since I beat it on Hard the first time through), but because of the different elements like climbing (being a magnet to every crevice was not a good decision imo), running (sometimes getting stuck on things), etc. Also, no matter how powerful I got, all the powers were extremely basic. They were all just different forms of shooting a lightning bolt, and in the end, you didn't even need them. The basic firing attack was good enough to get you through the game.

It's a solid 8/10 for me, as well.

They give games that shouldn't look good, (Wii/360 games) good scores for graphics because they are actually decent, but the PS3 the have to better than real life.

Grays 2... and Halo 3: Neon... are examples of this. Gears 2 did look good, but not mind blowing, it was hidding behind blacks, grays and browns. Halo: ODST and open world game look nowhere near as good as inFAMOUS... the gameplay is a different matter. But inFAMOUS looks great and has fantastic art direction. It's contrast in colours etc is fantastic.

In the past 3 weeks I bought, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Demon's Souls, and Uncharted 2. That is almost $200 on games. I've got Tekken 6 (with Fight Stick) on reserve, but I'll probably let it go back. I just can't afford to spend any more money on video games.

Sony's game-making machine is GOD-STOMPING right now. Of the 3 games that I just bought the lowest rated is NGS2 and its an 8.5. Now Ratchet & Clank has got two 9.0 reviews right of the bat. I regret it but I must pass. I would say that I'll rent it but I don't have time to play the games that I already have.

By the time I play the games I just bought, it will be GOWIII, Heavy Rain, FFXIII, GT5 time. On top of that, we are starting to hear Resistance 3 and Killzone 3 rumors. God Forbid, if they announce anything new.

Where does the Sony hate come from? I never knew that people hated Sony so much. Why is it that Microsoft and Nintendo get free rides on the review train while Sony games get strip searched before they get on? Ratchet and Clank CIT gets a lower score because it is more of the same? Just imagine how many 9.5 s and above scores would be for many games. Maybe they think it looks bad to give almost perfect scores so often, but we the Gamers know the reality, if the media used the same standards for PS3 as they do for other consoles Metacritic would not be even necessary, there would be too many 9.5s and 10s

IGN gave the first R&C Future a 9.4 and it has an 89 on MetaCritic. So if they gave ACiT a 9.0, it should ened up with an 85 on MetaCritic.

And if IGN reviews are the only reviews that count to determine if a game is AAA, then say hello to Halo 3: ODST, the AAA expansion pack.

This game looks fantastic I have played every Insomniac developed Ratchet game since the first and honestly when I bought Tools of Destruction and popped it in I couldn't play more than 2 hours because I was sick of the formula but for some reason I'm extremely interested in this one maybe it's because I took a break from the series and I'm definitely picking this up soon.
