They don't even comment on the graphics of 360/PS3 comparatively.

Montrealien5305d ago

bah, another useless article. I played it on the 360 yesterday at work an brought it home on my PS3, all that matters is that this is a very solid game. Diablo as a fps, I am in?!?

A little off topic, the more I play this game, the more I think this was the Halo Project Gearbox was making, any thought?

Jsynn75305d ago (Edited 5305d ago )

They're the same. Why did they even bother? Why do people keep doing this? What does it matter? I don't care if one game is darker than the other or if the other game is more colorful. If it's an awesome game and it plays well, I'll play it no matter what it looks like. These are for the people who really judge books by their covers. If you care about this kinda stuff, grow up. The media just tries to fuel the fires of the fanboy wars by doing this. It's sad really. The only way this stuff will go away is if you ignore but there are the great some who actually give in to this. To this I say once again, grow up.

Natsu X FairyTail5305d ago

yo Montrealien where do you work?

JsonHenry5305d ago

I already have it bought and paid for through STEAM on my PC.

Kiroe5305d ago

Seriously, what a useless comparison. Really? PC looks better? Naw, really?!?!?! Couldn't have guessed that one.:D He never mention one visual difference on the PS3/Xbox 360, let alone performance.

I will be waiting for Lens of Truth and Eurogamers analysis before I make my purchase.

Christopher5305d ago

1. No HD, in depth view of the games on any platform. Pretty much shrunk down resolutions where they all look the same.

2. We don't care about you talking to us about which is better, we want to be shown proof, visually, that one is better than the other.

3. Again, not even an HD YouTube video version?

4. No comments at all on the differences between the PS3 and 360. Framerate? Tearing percentage? Quantity of pop-ins? Load times? Give us something.

Montrealien5305d ago

I manage a Microplay here in Montreal Natsu.

edgeofblade5305d ago

And da winner is? I say the PC. I prefer to play games on a console, but I really think the PC version looks like it handles better.

dreamcast5305d ago

"A little off topic, the more I play this game, the more I think this was the Halo Project Gearbox was making, any thought?"

I never thought Gearbox was actually working on a new Halo, but that'd definitely be interesting. I'll have to play it today before I make an opinion either way, but I'm glad you're liking the game.. I've been looking forward to it for a while.

likedamaster5305d ago

@Tall

Didn't notice a difference either. They're just trying to puch the PC version, in my opinion.

Poopface the 2nd5305d ago

thatnks guy for telling me the PC version can look better. Funny how he says that and doesnt mention what kind of comp he was playing on. I really wanted to know what console version was better as I got ps3/360/PC. Not sure if my PC can handle it so Id like to know about the console versions. Putting a pc game in the comparison is pointless as it wont be the same for everyone, and most people know that the pc versions always have more potential.

IaMs125304d ago

Dude this is like Diablo but with Guns! lol sweet i def have to look into this

IRetrouk5305d ago

how do you work that one out?

thereapersson5305d ago

How did it get "owned", when both version are identical? I don't even know why I bothered responding to your tripe...

champ215305d ago

360 got owned as well.. whats your point?

the taxfree(pc) version beat both of them ;-)

15usd cheaper... and it owned both the boxes.

imo id drop the fanboyism.. and be careful about sony and micro till they corrected their pricing.

Pennywise5305d ago

As dumb as MGR? Its a 99% chance they are the same idiot.

Man_of_the_year5305d ago (Edited 5305d ago )

Both the PS3 and 360 versions look IDENTICAL in that video comparison. Also i didn't see much or if any difference between the PC/360/PS3 versions. They all looked the same. 2K did a great job at making the games all look the same.

LukaX235305d ago

I think it's because Gearbox actually made the game nearly identical on both consoles.

I'm sold! Thanks, IGN.

divideby05305d ago

bargain bin after the holidays..

Pennywise5305d ago

You think it will make it that far?

Montrealien5305d ago

its 39.99 here in Canada at Walmart Future shop and Best buy, that's one hell of a bargain right there.

champ215305d ago (Edited 5305d ago )

"pc version is also the best looking... console version also stutters" :P

though you only need a mid range pc to play this to max.

a 150usd gpu is enough ;-)

@ below

oh sure a 8800gt is about 2x the power of any console.. its more then enough to play this game. also you save paying a tax ;-) 10usd saved for another game :) 15usd if you bought it over steam.

thereapersson5305d ago

I'm sure my 8800GT will be more than adequate enough to play this game

Montrealien5305d ago

My 42" and couch on my PS3 will also be more then adequate to play this game. Don;t get me wrong, the PC version will be the better looking one, but lets face it, nothing beats playing a console game in the comfort of your living room.

t8505305d ago (Edited 5305d ago )

i got my pc connected to my hdtv.. its awesome ;-)

btw i got it @ 33usd with ma friends ;-) best deal every from steam.

presto7175305d ago

You're 100% right. Thats why I quit pc gaming altogether and moved over to ps3. It was just too much of an inconvenience always having to plug my pc to my hdtv, and playing with a keyboard and mouse while looking at a tv just feels weird.

Now I feel like I just wasted money beefing up my pc.

Shucks.

STK0265305d ago

yeah, because we all know PCs can't use controllers right?

Sarcasm5305d ago

Ah the old arguement. Sure you could play the PC version in 232030434x243503450345 with 2345x anti aliasing. But working folks like me would rather sit on my couch leaning back to enjoy some gaming. Not come home from the office chair to sit on another office chair.

Don't get me wrong, I have a decent computer with a 8800GTS, but the only PC game I'm going to play on it is Starcraft II or counter strike.

Fishy Fingers5305d ago

Ah the old sofa shout. Weak at best. It as easy to link a pc to your tv as it is a console, plus you can choose which controller you want if you don't like k/b and mouse. Why not just say, I'll be playing on X because that's what you have or prefer, there is no need to try and justify it.

thor5305d ago

If a PC came with a specific "gaming" operating system (or you could probably mock one up yourself), it could be as easy and as comfortable as:

-Turning the computer on
-Picking up your controller and turning it on
-Lay back on the settee
-Pick the game you want to play (don't even have to insert a disk if you bought everything off steam)
-Play & Enjoy

The only thing holding back PC gaming as compared to consoles is the lack of party games/split-screen play (though console games are eschewing this as well). In fact I'm very tempted to get a setup like this. The other thing is that people want to use their PC for non-gaming purposes as well, so it can't be in the living room.

After all, what do all those arcade machines, quiz boxes etc run on? That's right, a windows PC.

Jdoki5305d ago

I guess for some people the PC vs couch/sofa argument is relevant.

Luckily I have my PC and consoles going through DVI/HDMI in to an amp and then in to my HDTV. Coupled with a wireless 360 adpater for the PC it's perfect for gaming either at my desk or sofa.

Montrealien5305d ago

You know Fishy, the Irony here is that I infact have a PC conected to my TV. And the (Old Couch shout) is subjective, I just prefer keeping my console gaming in the living room sitting on my couch. And thats not to say I don`t play many games on my great PC in my computer room also, Its all a matter of choice, you do understand that right? And with the choice we have these days, its pretty hard to have a wrong one.

presto7175305d ago

I got a gaming pc first this gen because people always say games look better on pc. I got the pc version of gears, which would crash on me like 5 secs after the game started. Oblivion wouldnt even finish launching before it crashed. My DMC4 did not even install because "one of the CAB files was corrupt". Granted COD4 and UT3 were excellent with a keyboard and mouse, I just got tired of all the issue associated with pc gaming. I got a logitech controller for my pc, but the damn thing would reset the buttons every time I launched a game.

What more can I say?

ps3ftwin5305d ago

i been a console gamer till this point.. now i only buy exclusives for my ps3.

pc just is cheaper for gaming.

@above

i dunno how you are getting so many problems... all i have is steam.. point and click on the game.

it updates and patches everything.. no hassles for me.

my gaming has been cheaper & superior ever since i made the switch.

thor5305d ago

Actually I'm finding that console games crash as often as PC games nowadays... only problems I have are if I'm running it at too high settings, or it's just a REALLY BADLY coded game (*cough* Empire: Total War), most games aren't like this.

t8505305d ago

well consoles have become dumped down pcs this gen...

if things crash on a console.. you cant really do anything until micro or sony get it fixed.

on the pc on the other hand there more likly is a fix. this is because companies can get patches out faster on the pc they dont have to wait for microsofts or sonys approval.

Ju5305d ago (Edited 5305d ago )

"The only thing holding back PC gaming as compared to consoles" is

- no dedicated game operating interface (you still need to boot a desktop)
- no unified online system (Windows Live, Steam, GameSpy, etc).
- and thus no unified online community
- high maintenance effort to keep your PC up to date.

It's not a console. As long its running a full fledged Windows OS it will never be. Either someone strips it down and makes it a OS which hides its general purpose interface it'll never compete against consoles for Joe Couchpotato. MS will never do that (competition for the 360) and other will fail (see why Windows Live! is not supported across all games).

For performance geeks, this can be a solution, but for mainstream it will never work.

BTW: Consoles crash. Don't even get started. No, they don't.

STK0265305d ago

what's the point with a unified online community? PCs can run messenger, AIM or similar programs, aswell as Skype, TS or Vent, if you meet someone in one given game and want to communicate with them afterwards in other games, just use one of these. Also, most games these days are seeing a Steam release, which is probably the most console-like experience you can get on a PC.

And yes, consoles do crash, even on the dashboard (or XMB). Games freeze, both on PC and consoles.

My point is, a PC can pretty much do anything a console can, it just requires a bit more work (I assume pretty much anyone can install skype on its PC...) and more cash. Also, please don't give me the "PCs can't play UC2" argument, I know it can't, the game is a PS3 exclusive, it's about as relevant as saying that my PS3 can't run Dawn of War II or that my X360 can't play Crisis Core...

Poopface the 2nd5305d ago

I got a 512mb 9600gso, but only a single core 2.4 athlon 64 and only 1 gig of ram. Maybe they will have a demo for pc that I can try before I decide on getting one of the console versions.

evrfighter5305d ago

Man my HDTV, My couch, Native 1080p, Max AA, 60fps minimum, my wireless 360 controller

Yup PC version is definately the must have version.

If a pc gamer really wanted to have a couch, HDTV setup. He would have it. Except it would be 10x better.

Ju5305d ago

"it just requires a bit more work" this is exactly my point.

And I don't care about cross game chat. I want to get into a game, select "online", plug in my headset and go. Instead of asking myself, which account do I sign in today ? Did I configure my headset right ? And all that crap.

That's why I said: "For performance geeks, this can be a solution, but for mainstream it will never work. "

So, if you want to go that route, fine, enjoy. I wouldn't want to trade what I have and works with it, though (even though I play a couple of games on the PC these days).

Borderlands' Opening Scene Is Still An All-Time Great
