Borderlands - Final Review (PlanetXbox360)

From the PlanetXbox360.com feature review:

"Set in a Madmax-like, furturistic world, Borderlands is attempting to merge the line between first person shooter and RPG (and actually does it quite successfully). Borderlands has taken standard features from RPG games (think Fallout 3), like leveling up, collecting items, and completing quests - and mixed it with a fast paced first-person shooter experience. There are 160+ quests, with around 30 of them essential to the story; and the game has been designed to make you want to complete them all. You will also be able to repeat side quests to gain more valuable skill points if leveling-up (grinding) is needed. The action takes place on Pandora, a planet on the edge of the galaxy said to hold massive quantities of mineral resources; but as the colonists find out, there is little of anything to go around. Anyone with money leaves the planet, but those who are left, struggle to survive in a world that has devolved into anarchy. Several years into colonization, a change in season occurs, bringing with it, the awakening of all manner of horrific creatures."

Put 30+ hours into this game, loved it (sometimes hated it) but overall it is definitely worth this score - nice review!

How/where did you get your copy so early since it is just being released tomorrow?

I'm curious why this game doesn't seem to be getting much buzz on the ol internets? Are people not excited about it because of how busy November is with new games, not appealing? What is it?

Probably due to each platform having their own exclusives out/coming out. The FPS crowd are probably also mainly focused on COD, I must admit I am, but I'll be picking this up during my next game lull.

Although, wait till the first comparison shows up, all of a sudden even will care about it.

because last week i bought Uncharted 2, next week i'm buying forza 3, in 4 weeks i'm getting modern warfare 2, and in 5 weeks i'm getting assassin's creed 2 and left 4 dead 2.

this game has my interest, but not nearly as much as all those other games. truth be told, a game like demon's souls is the game that i'm looking at longingly on the sidelines, but some things need to wait.

I think its getting over looked thanks to Modern Warfare 2, Forza3 and Brutal Legend. Mainly MW2 tho.

Its definately top of my list and a few others i know are getting it at midnight tonight.

With such a wide variety of enemies, weapons and landscapes, i just dont know how people couldnt like it!

Borderlands' Opening Scene Is Still An All-Time Great

TheGamer Writes "I don't think my most controversial video game take should be that controversial, but it is. I'm a video game journalist, so you know I have some bad takes in this broken down serotonin factory I call a brain, but here's one opinion that receives universal pushback: I don't like video game music."
