Unless you're ten or under really can't see why you'd want Eyepet instead of 8 Days: the game is targeted at kids. And now that some reviews are coming in I can see why its getting the scores that it is. Sony should have made it into a full blown Tamagotchi clone. Make it mutate into other forms depending on how it was treated. Give an option where it could die - leaving that up to the parents.

Maybe they'll get it right with Eyepet 2.

Look, you can't fake a kid's reaction to something. If you want a real review, have a 12yr old girl or 10yr old boy review it. I'm not necessarily interested in the opinion of a Fallout/GTA/UC2 player's take on EyePet (even though a gamer with those tastes can co-exist).

That's the idea, maybe for 12 years old kids GTA to COD lovers the game is useless, but kids (-10yr) and parents will love this game

I'm just saying that as good as it promises to be, how much better would it have been if the Eyepet either evolved Pokemon style or became trainable. Not like they couldn't do either.

Its a game for little kids, do you really think they weigh up metascores before tormenting mummy and daddy to buy them a game? Maybe they wait and see what Edge will score it?? Get real, the only reason this game will flop is because of the PS3 older demographic. Games like these wont sell well until the PS3 is at the 199 price point, which is a long way off.

"you can never fully ignore the fact that you're interacting with intangible objects, and the lack of sensory feedback makes finding the right rocking rhythm more hassle than it should be. Your hands float through and behind the object you're trying to "touch", and when it doesn't do what you want, there's no fallback other than to keep gesticulating."

That video is more the oposite, the game seems very precise and it's no slow at all, I don't know what kind of expectation you had for a game like this, but it has so far surpassed mines, this is a "quasi" natal thing, and this will proove that not having real feedback in our hands make games feel shallow. That's the main negative aspect I can see in this game, even if in this you can actually hold a cart in your hands and have some interactivity with it. (feel you're actually doing something instead of just moving air.
All I know is that my son will love this, and not trying to start a console wars but this is why I stick to Sony, they have something for everyone and every tastes, from Killzone2, to Uncharted2, Heavy Rain, Eyepet, Flower, Critter Crunsh, MGS4, GOW3, Flow, .detuned, etc... variety and quality for everyone, not mainly shooters and shooters and gore. Nintendo is doing what they always do and are more similar to Sony than Microsoft, but Nintendo understimated the power of HD and graphical power, only original controls can't make the system as appellative as I wished it was.

That video he linked displays one of the fastest and most precise camera based games yet, at least until the PS Motion controller comes out (true 1:1).

I watched a preview of this which really was a turn off for me.

A guys daughter (about 6) was really excited to play the game but within 10 mins it was apparent that the motion controls in the game were not rock solid, and that it was too complicated for kids.

Plus they missed out on so much oppertunity. Like online features.

I'll skip this game, hopefully other devs can get motion control right.
