After the fanfare of the opening cinematic, promises of an improved and reinvigorated gaming experiences ringing in our ears post-Gamescom, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games positioned itself pretty well out of the starting gate. After all, winter sports like snowboarding, skiing and, erm, skeleton, exude cool and make for typically fun sim-sports to play.
The good news is, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games is a better game than the original.
...but is that really saying much?

Seriously it actually takes place in Canada. Many of the games on your list just have a level in Canada and aren't actually set there.
