Resistance with KZ2's engine would be awesome! KZ2's engine is so gorgeous! Although, I don't know if I want to see a slimy Chimera thats looks real O_o I wouldn't mind if every game from now on used the KZ2 engine to be honest. If someone finds a way to surpass that this generation, I'll be surprised.

I actually just bought Resistance: Fall of Man again yesterday. I traded in ODST and I used the money to buy Resistance: Fall of Man. R:FoM is still incredibly fun after all the years! I've beat it well over 20 times solo and split-screen co-op and it just never gets old. ODST however, got stale after a week. I got $30 for ODST and bought R: FoM used for $20. I'm not afraid to buy used PS3 games since Blu-Rays never scratch unlike some other discs XD

i hope it isnt resistance 3. i want something new.

Cajun Chicken5328d ago

...Although the cliff hanger in R2 was pretty amazing.

LordMarius5328d ago

Resistance 3 need to have everything from R1 and R2, no cuts
and KZ2 graphics

Ziggi5328d ago

Resistance needs to go back to the Rfom type not R2. Insomniac basically said FU to their fans from rfom and changed everything up to get a bigger audience in. RFOM has sold almost 4mil i think? but whatever that game was a huge success and is still my fav ps3 online experience because it was too epic. R2 was such a disappoint compared to rfom.

R: FoM multiplayer is still my favorite to date! One-Hit Carbines in The Bus Yard, One-Hit Snipers in The Hanger and One-Hit Shotguns in The Subway are the 3 most fun multiplayer games I've ever played! It was great how you still earned XP in custom games and your stats were split into Ranked and Unranked.

Resistance 2 was a little disappointed cus it lost some of the magic R: FoM had. Insomniac admitted that they took a lot of inspiration from CoD4 and R2 showed that. R2 was still great but it took away some of the elements that made R: FoM so magical and made it somewhat more generic feeling. The lack of split-screen campaign co-op pissed off my brother-in-law and I too. He visits once a month and every time we used to play R:FoM co-op campaign for hours on end but you can't do that in R2. R2's standalone co-op missions were fun but it wasn't fun unless you had at least 3 people and we liked just playing with the two of us. He was really into Resistance's story but since we couldn't play R2's campaign co-op, I was stuck explaining everything to him which wasn't much for either of us. I also hated how there was no XP awarded for custom multiplayer games.

Fingers crossed for R3! Hopefully it'll include split-screen co-op for the real campaign and bring back the beloved weapon-wheel.

Personally, I love both games. I can see why big fans of RFOM wouldn't like the changes in R2 because they wanted more of the same but better, and instead they got some of the same, and then a lot of completely new and different stuff. I personally liked that, though, because both games are very, very different, and I think both are extremely good at what they set out to do. I think that the health system in RFOM is unique and cool, but then in R2 it works for what they're doing with the level designs in that game (and the same goes for the weapon wheel in RFOM and 2-weapon system in R2... they are each good and work well for the respective games that they are in). The two games don't even tell their stories in a similar style. So basically the only similarities are the weapons themselves and the characters. Beyond that, the mechanics and designs are totally different. One has a campaign co-op, the other has a Left 4 Dead-ish class-based co-op. Both games are great in their own way, and I'm glad that they're so different, because usually when a sequel comes out it just totally invalidates the former game and eliminates any need to play it because the new game is the same thing but better. But with RFOM and R2, the games are different enough in their style and mechanics that neither game outshines the other and they're both very much worth playing today.

They need to spend 2 years on resistance 3 I reckon, not just 1. The multiplayer in resistance 2 is awesome but the campaign is a bit bland in my opinion.

wxer5328d ago

R3 in killzone2 engine would be epic

Corepred45328d ago

sorry but the multiplayer in R2 was crap. R1 multiplayer was soooo much better.

JustinSaneV25328d ago

Are they supposed to sitting on their rears twiddling their thumbs?
Of course they're working on their next project.

James Bond5328d ago

Devs take a break after they finish a game.

Bodyboarder_VGamer5328d ago

Insomniac release new games every year.

Charlie_Shene5327d ago

Insomniac is a large developer they have 2 teams in California and another somewhere out east maybe new york(cant remember). So they can have many games on the devolepment chain at once thats how they have a new PS3 game every year.

i_i_n5328d ago

bring back the weapon wheel!

that is all.

i loved R:FoM and R2 a lot, the MP in R2 was beastly if you ask me. i spent many of hours entertained by it. both games were solid, and a 3rd one would be great to see.

Microsoft once tried to nab LittleBigPlanet from Sony after a few drinks

Microsoft had a good idea but fumbled it again.

Project Spark idea was decent but they quickly gave up ..
LBP was wonderful

ApocalypseShadow3d ago

Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.

They're scum.

Zachmo1822d ago

Microsoft didn't force MLB on Xbox. MLB gave Sony 2 options either go multiplat or risk losing the license.

Rynxie2d ago

And why do you think MLB said that? I believe Ms approached MLB.

ApocalypseShadow2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Totally ridiculous comment.

The only exclusivity Sony had was to their own creation of The Show. Microsoft could have paid the MLB for the license just like Sony did and made their own baseball game.

Microsoft instead, groomed MLB for years in trying to poach Sony's game and bring it to Xbox. They're worth 3 TRILLION dollars. You think that's not enough money to make their own baseball game? Don't be delusional.

Microsoft spun it like they always do and told the media that they had to trust Sony with their hardware. After they put Sony in that position of not having a choice. Either go multiplatform or stop making one of their successful games. That's a no win scenario.

And what did Microsoft do? They didn't try to sell the game to the Xbox community. They put it on game pass to hurt Sony. Pushing the idea of why buy games that are $70 when you can play them in their cheap service for $10. It was a dirty tactic.

You fell for the Kool aid drink Microsoft served you instead of spitting it out. Hope it tasted good because you were fooled by Phil and the gang.

Xbox executive Sara Bond has told Axios that Microsoft spent a number of years trying to get MLB The Show onto Xbox consoles. And when it finally succeeded in breaking off PlayStation’s long-held exclusivity, the company had to “trust” Sony with pre-release Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Bond revealed that MLB The Show “always came up” in conversations between Microsoft and the Major League Baseball organization. “We always said, ‘We love this game. It would be a huge opportunity to bring it to Xbox.'” she recalled. However, when Microsoft’s efforts materialized, it put the company in an awkward situation where it had to send in pre-release consoles to a rival company.

Lying to yourself is unbecoming.

Article link tells you all you need to know in Sarah Bond's own words.

Hereandthere1d 22h ago

They were too cheap/inept/lazy to develop their own mlb game, so they port begged for years and bribed the mlb to make the show multiplatform. Like i said many times, xbox brought nothing to the table their 24 years, ZERO.

ApocalypseShadow1d 8h ago

At least you and others get it. Note drank the Kool aid and asked for seconds thinking it was refreshing.

Most don't even know how it all played out but it's there in black and white for all to see. Microsoft brought it up for years until the MLB forced Sony's hand. It was a win win for Microsoft. Kill one reason to buy a PlayStation or kill the game by dropping it in a cheap service to kill Sony's sales numbers on PlayStation.

"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."

Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.

Cockney1d 3h ago

They chose well, Sony gave them the backing to pursue their dreams with no restrictions even tho their games especially dreams have very niche appeal. Media molecule and Sony deserve respect for this in an age of risk averse publishing.

RNTody2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.

But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?

Inverno2d ago

Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.

Inverno2d ago

They shut down the servers, that's millions of user created levels gone. That and dead are pretty much the same, it's also been years since 3 and they cancelled HUB soooo.

2d ago
fsfsxii2d ago

They shutdown the servers because no one was playing, no one in the community cared about the user created levels so why keep them up? Wtf you guys would never succeed in running a business.

Inverno2d ago

Yea dood no one was playing so they shut off the servers. Cause people with enough common sense can't just Google why they were actually shut of, right?
