Diablo 3: Auras Return... to the Monk?

Diii.net has posted the second part of their exclusive interview with Diablo III Game Director Jay Wilson, and this batch of questions focus entirely on the newly-revealed Monk character. Jay talks about the Monk's unrevealed skills, his lore and design, and drops the first word that the party-boosting Auras will return in Diablo 3, most likely as Monk skills.

Some very juicy stuff this time, with the first word of Auras in D3, and new info about the other monk skills as well.

Thanks so much for this update Flux :)

Surprising to say the least. I thought they said that aura's where going to be excluded? It is going to be interesting how they plan to implement this.

to the Paladin in D2. I used to play Paladin with my colleagues many years ago after office hours. I can't wait to see what the monk can do in a team campaign.

Cogo5331d ago

@ Dorjan: Sarcastic much?

Maticus5331d ago

I suppose auras and holy fighters go hand in hand.

SCFreelancer5331d ago

It seems so. Although I am still surprised because they said they didn't like aura's because they are not really an "active gameplay element". I wonder if they are going to be implemented in the on/off style like before.

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein103d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.

Diablo III - Still a Huge Draw in the Face of Diablo IV

Diablo III still works on modern PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and remains hugely playable a decade after initial release.

Palitera412d ago

Are you comparing a continuously improved 10+ years old masterpiece with the... beta of an unreleased game?

kevco33411d ago

Heh, yeah. There's no comparison in here! Its a commentary on how III is still very playable over a decade later.
