Bayonetta demo is live on Japanese PSN

As mentioned just about a week ago, the demo of Platinum Game's 'climax action' title Bayonetta has just gone up on the Japanese PSN. The demo features The Angel Metropolis level. As an added bonus for PS3 owners, the stage featured in the PS3 demo is an extended version of the same level available in the 360 demo. The 360 demo also includes the Clock Tower level, which isn't available in the PS3 demo.

Why are we getting extended versions of the same level from another platform's demo, but they get an extra level?

I'm playing through it right now and it's rather enjoyable.

The music is rather nice to, I'd say everyone should at least give it a go, the battle seems rather fluid (at least for me) even the slow-motion part.

Yeah, the thing I would quickly change though is the camera movement speed. When you first start it's so slow!

Start--> Second Option --> All the way down to the slider (The rest I'm sure people can figure out and when you hit O to go back just hit X).

Once that has been fixed the game is rather nice, I'm still going to be slightly on the fence as to whether or not I will get this though sad to say :/

Yea, I'm on the fence about getting this also. There's alot of "Great" games coming out in the first Quarter of next year. I just don't know if Bayonetta will make my cut.

I haven't played the 360 demo so I'm not sure if it's a PS3 issue or just a general game issue, but they game looks kinda blah. Lots of aliasing issues, shadows popping in, undefined textures, etc.

That being said, the actual gameplay is awesome. I just sat in the training room for like 20 minutes beating people up and learning/having fun with the moves. The bosses are epic as hell, and the whole game just wreaks of that DMC/Hideki Kamiya flair.

The only gripe I had about the demo was the visuals. Slight screen-tearing and low-res textures with a slight blur to everything. I can only imagine the 360 version could be better due to Platinum working on it in-house and not passing the duty off to Sega. Just feels rushed.

As for everything else, the music is beautiful, the presentation and art-style unique, and the action fierce and deep. Splendid design by Kamiya.

Played the demo :

very nice , very fun ...
some bad textures here and there ( BUT THEY ARE ON 360 too ).
the screen tearing is not good ( but they have time to improve it ..and so far it only happen during cutscenes or during exploration ( and i don't care as long as my battles are fluid )

while walking the framerate was shaky, but during fights it was stable...there is some horrible screen tearing on the top of the screen, and the game looks blurry, it seems like this game is running on a sub-HD resolution

I have fairly good vision and it's really hard for me to see screen tearing for some reason. I've seen the sample images but I just don't see it in game. Perhaps I should just be glad that my head don't register them.

the game looked like s**t, it played like s**t. i knew this was going to happen when they ported that crap to the PS3.

Seriously how many times must developers learn to get it into their heads? Lead on PS3 first, or it will play like s**t.

EDIT: i when i said played like S**t, i didnt mean the gameplay, it was solid. what i meant is the frame rate along side the screen tearing and aliasing.

the frame skipping happens when it enters a cut scene.

Highly anticipated game for me, I went to the JPN PSN last night but they only had a new trailer up at the time.

Looking forward to checking the demo out tonight. Before the demo I heard a lot of doom and gloom regarding the PS3 version but I can't wait to check it out for myself. I don't have the option to get this on 360 so I really hope that Sega manage to do something positive with the Sony version.
