Boomtown Review: Elven Legacy: Ranger, Elven Legacy: Siege

Boomtown writes: "Ranger and Siege add 35 missions, five heroes, new artefacts, spells and armies. While this sounds like a lot the vast majority of the expansions remain completely unchanged. Both games feel like the developer has done a copy and paste job. This means that if you only flirted with the original you will find very little to sink your teeth into. Also, if you were looking for a continuation of the original story then you might be disappointed to learn that Ranger and Siege depart from this. Ranger focuses on a human ranger named Cornelius while Siege, set several months after Ranger, follows the invasion of the human lands by Saggitel and his elves. Both stories don't really draw you in as it is very clichéd and plays out like a very low budget Lord of the Rings."

GDN: Elven legacy: Magic Review

GDN writes: "In Magic, the Elven Legacy trilogy of expansions, we find that there has been an unyielding magic that has spread over the lands and reached the city of Sylent. This magic taunts and heckles the mages in the city so that they lose their mind causing mayhem and disorder. It is here you are introduced to your new character within the game arch mage supreme Alfred Brennock as he is the only one trained in arcane arts he is the only one who can save the world from the scourge."

GDN: Elven Legacy: Siege Review

GDN writes: "I recently reviewed the first of the three Elven Legacy expansions, Ranger, and this month and I have been playing the second to be released in the series, Siege. One of the first things to capture my eye about this game, even since the very first Elven Legacy was the level of difficulty and getting through the different stages of the game. In each scenario you are confronted with what can seem unachievable goals. but if you are of a tactical mind, or you just like doing things for a second, third or fourth time until you get it right, then this leaves nothing short of what you expect from the masterminds at 1c company & Paradox Interactive."
