Gamervision: EyePet Delay Official

Gamervision reports: "Apparently Gamestop and Amazon had a reason to move the launch date of EyePet back. Gamervision has confirmed with Sony that the title will, indeed, miss the holiday release in North America. Here's Sony's official response:

"The North American territory has decided to take additional time to focus on the EyePet product and can confirm it will not be available this holiday. EyePet is an innovative and exciting new IP to the PS3 platform and SCEA marketing will spend additional time to continue educating consumers and retail channels, setting the table for a successful product launch. We will provide more details on an updated launch timeframe very soon"

i dont think so, two things that cant be compared, for instance, i stopped playing wii sports cause i felt that i was swinging my arms around and just watching different layouts of the same game (the swing ur arms around game) this game is profound, offers customization, and diff levels of interaction with ur pet, goals, trophies and more, so... yeah.

anyone else think its strange that the excuse is so that they can give it a marketing push? And they need 4 -6 months to do this. Qore members got there first in-depth taste last week. with they could have put together a hot ad campaign using what they have on video right now and what was left on the cutting room floor. Then they could have had a December release date for a BIG title family interactive title.

to bundle it with the Playstation Motion controller? they've already said it will be motion controller compatible.

there could be 3 flavors:

1) EyePet with Playstation Eye
2) EyePet with Motion Controller
3) EyePet stand alone

makes sense to me.

it would be a fully fleshed out application to launch with the motion controller, instead of the usual sports type mini-game collections you normally see.

it may suck to lose it for the holiday season on a business level, but it will just add to the debut of the PS Motion controller.
