Holy screen tearing batman! I really hope that Double Fine gets the PlayStation 3 version polished up before shipping. Other than performance, looks close visually.

ArthurLee5330d ago

I hope it does too but chances are, that's the game...unfortunately. Oh well.

Unless the demo is the final build of the game, and you know it to be the final build of the game - what's the point? So users know what system is slightly better to play the demo on?

Edit below: But that proves nothing. They did this with Resident Evil, and it was skewed because the PS3 build of the demo wasn't as far along compared to the 360. That's why I said, unless this is the final build of the game - it's meaningless. LOT even says in the comparison that the PS3 might have this fixed up in the final build. So what's the point?

"So users know what system is slightly better to play the demo on?"

No, so they know which version should be the superior one when released. Kind of a heads up, if you will.

leyego5330d ago

tbh i might get this instead of uncharted 2.
hm... or get them both. i dunno yet

badz1495330d ago

this, even if it's good, will remain a "future possible buy" for me at the moment! and for the record, both look closely identical! nothing too much of a different to warrant a winner!

So I don't think it will be a big issue. We'll see when the game releases...

I haven't noticed much of anything of the sort on either demo if I'm, honest. I wasn't studying for it, mind, but does anyone when they just play the game?

Also most demos aren't the polished and final build of the game and as such comparing them isn't really saying anything about the final game on either playform.

Most importantly, however, if I didn't notice anyhing one either demo when I wasn't looking how many will? If there's a difference in the game similare to this it certainly wouldn't be enough to stop someone buying for their console of choice anyway. I'm starting to think that LoT and DF should only really bother when there's something that WOULD make a difference(i.e noticable by anyone)to your gaming or which console you'd choose to get a game for-and those occasions are very rare indeed these days.

This game looks like allot of fun. Hopefully for PS3 fans the demo is not the final code and the screen tearing can be fixed.

It's been 3 years, I'd like to see some equal-looking vsynced multiplats please. 2nd and 1st-party Sony devs, help out these 3rd-party studios...please!

This game...holy heck. Makes me feel old.

gamer7804766d ago

I loved that game. Unlocked every song

MadLad766d ago

Liked the aesthetic, tone, humor, and action combat.
Didn't care for the RTS elements.

Never cared to finish it.

porkChop766d ago

Yeah they marketed the game like it was a Heavy Metal GTA-ish adventure. And at the beginning of the game that's what it was. The game fell apart when the half-baked RTS stuff came in. I'd be interested in a reboot or sequel, but just go full action adventure and ditch the RTS. There really is something there with the Heavy Metal theme.

Ryushaa766d ago

I feel you. I just hacked the game to have infinite life/RTS resources

PS360 gen was special, then again it was still the mid 2000s. Everything went to shite in the teens

mastershredder766d ago

I think that was the breaker for Doublefine's creative ambitions and their mixing of genres (which was getting kinda stale). It was a nice to look at but it was more of a tribute to the many things Tim loves, was influenced by and has great admiration for....but the forced RTS stuff was like a drinking buddy's "great idea" that never should have come to light. The game seemed a lot more vast, but it ended pretty quickly too. And Jack Black. As much as I don't care for him as an actor (annoying and requires constant attention), this was absolutely made with him in mind and it worked. I mean come on, Tenacious D? For as Metal as this game was trying to be, even comically, it did little more than meow.
