Console Monster: Left 4 Dead - Crash Course Review

Console Monster writes: "With Left 4 Dead 2 around the corner with zombie clowns and frying pans galore, Valve showed their faith to the original Left 4 Dead with a new piece of DLC for the fantastic zombie slaughtering game, which was released last year. Many Left 4 Dead fans were sceptical when footage of Left 4 Dead 2 was shown at E3 09, not even a year after the originals release. They worried for Valve's commitment to the first game when the second would be released. Well, they should fear no more because Crash Course is exactly the thing to prove them wrong.

Crash Course contains a new campaign level as well as a Versus map and two Survival arenas. The events of Crash Course take place after the escape from the hospital in No Mercy. The helicopter pilot turned out to be a zombie and crashed the helicopter near a truck depot. Well, if I didn;t already have Crash Course, I'd definitaly pick it up for 320 MS Points. Not too bothered about The Maw though, to be honest.

The Maw is a great game.

It is pretty short with little replay value, though, so I would only recommend buying it when it goes on sale.

I got it for $5 a while back and it was totally worth it.
A nice change of pace from the games that I usually play.

Valve's Chet Faliszek talks Left 4 Dead, The Orange Box and PS3...

So Left 4 Dead 2 will be on PS3 from the sounds of it.
Great news, Maybe they can do a proper game pack like Orange Box, with new titles on it properly ported. I would love to get both L4D 1 and 2 on 1 disc.

Dude I have the original Left 4 dead on my 360. But Left 4 dead 2 sucks. Which was a damn shame because I really wanted to like the sequel

Vicophine5177d ago

Sounds like L4D/2 on PS3 this Fall is confirmed.

LtSkittles5177d ago

Yeah, he confirms it "This all gets back to something we've been trying to clarify. So people know we were going to come out this Fall [with Left 4 Dead] on the PS3. We mean it - I wasn't lying."

Biggest5177d ago

So Valve plans to grace us idiots with an old game for full price? Why thank you!

redsquad5177d ago

Not interested in L4D 1 or 2 - The next Half Life episode, on the other hand.... Make it happen please!

A Survivor's Last Memoirs: L4D Add-on Campaigns

A piece showcasing the best custom Left 4 Dead campaigns interspersed with humorous sections in the character of the Vietnam War veteran Bill: "When they broke the news that we were deploying to Vienna, I didn't expect the damn 3 hour tour. I mean, it's the apocalypse – not some damn skirmish on hamburger hill, and all Zoey could think about was shopping at some fancy foreign department store."
