"Sony's hype was right," says Whitehurst, echoing those old, oft-forgotten claims that the architecture of Cell and it's satellite SPU's is ideal for the future of HD gaming"

Hopefully they take advantage of PS3's hardware..

rockleex5339d ago

Of both systems to the best of their ability. None of that lowest common denominator stuff.

Meaning they better use all the SPUs available, and those SPUs should be doing certain GPU tasks too.

pixelsword5339d ago

The only way they can take full advantage of the PS3 is to pack that blu-ray full, use the sixaxis, and have some sort of online play. Everything else should be equivocal in terms of the features they listed already.

I did not murder him5339d ago (Edited 5339d ago )

Sounds like excuse making in advance to me(like GhostBusters, GTA4 and many more)

If I had to guess the devs ran into financial trouble fighting PS3's hardware and made it multi platform again when they knew they could get MSFT support in more ways than one hence the close to 6 to 7 years since I first read about them working on it. Then again it could jibba jabba to keep the PS3 fans happy or interested, they're already turning rabid on the game(bashing it) some even still in denial about the game's plans with platforms.

The more disagrees I get the better I feel. I got 50 disagrees the first time it said this went multi platform and 26 today for saying it again.

When I say 360 versions of multi platform games will look better despite what devs or media trying mislead gamers say and I end up right 99% of the time, I get much more. I think saying MGSR was coming to 360 a month before E3 was the record though. I even lost 5 bubbles with that one.

TheBand1t5339d ago

Yea, and you also were claiming MGSR would remain exclusive to 360 and Lost Planet 2 was also a 360 exclusive....what's your point, asshole?

Unicron5339d ago

Go easy on him Bandit, not only is he mentally unwell, but he has jack sh1t to play.

What's worse is people are arguing over vaporware.

ThatCanadianGuy5339d ago

Hey, why do i have 7 disagrees? Ohh POG, err..i mean..i did not murder him is here..

LOL!

Simon_Brezhnev5339d ago (Edited 5339d ago )

but its sad when u brag about multiplatform games i guess u still think its still 2007

Edit:
I really feel bad about how fúcked up and delusional you are, then again i know you do this on purpose to get people mad so you can laugh.

"That's not the only reason for PS3 becoming WarDevil's lead platform. "Sony's hype was right," says Whitehurst, echoing those old, oft-forgotten claims that the architecture of Cell and it's satellite SPU's is ideal for the future of HD gaming, as opposed to the present, which is ruled by DirectX. "It's advantageous fo our thought process. There's better filtering on 360 but the whole thing comes together better on PS3." With modern deadlines and product cycles, though, few have the luxury of challenging today's wisdom and putting that to the test."

IN OTHER WORDS THEY DON'T HAVE 10 TO 15 YEARS TO WORK ON GAMES AND THEY LOVE BLU-RAY BECAUSE OF CUT-SCENES. SO THEY SAY THIS AS JUSTIFICATION FOR WHAT MENTIONED IN MY OTHER COMMENT ABOVE.

REMINDS ME WHAT JOHN CARMACK SAID...

"What you can say really quite clearly and not get into too much argument about it is that the 360 is much easier to develop for, it's easier to get the performance out of it that it can deliver, and the rasterizer, the GPU side is generally faster than what the PS3 has," Carmack told Eurogamer at QuakeCon.

"You could design a game where the PS3 would be the superior platform, but you'd have to go out of your way to do it. If you're doing a game like people just want to do games now, the 360's the better platform."

"If you were doing a whole lot of simulation, you can in theory get more performance out of the Cell processor than out of the two other dual-thread processors on the 360, but that's a big 'in theory'," he acknowledged."

AND THEN AFTER THE PS3 PRAISE...

"The Xbox 360 and PC versions of id's Rage sport higher framerates than the PlayStation 3 version, the latest issue of Edge magazine reveals.

In a ten-page reveal in its latest issue, Edge writes that the Xbox 360 version of Rage - which uses id's new Tech 5 engine - matches the 60fps framerate of the PC version, while PS3 runs at just "20-30fps".

Update: id Software has responded in the aftermath of the Edge article, saying: "The Edge Magazine article has caused quite a ruckus. We are committed to ensuring that gamers on all platforms have a great RAGE experience," on its official Twitter feed. Update Ends.

It's not mentioned whether the PS3 framerate will be addressed by the game's eventual release.

"The PS3 lags a little bit behind in terms of getting the performance out of it," John Carmack told Edge. "The rasteriser is just a little bit slower - no two ways about that.

"The RSX is slower than what we have in the 360. The CPU is about the same, but the 360 makes it easier to split things off, and that's what a lot of the work has been, splitting it all into jobs on the PS3," he said."

OF COURSE THEY REALLY WON'T MATCH THE PS3 VERSION IN THE END AVERAGE GAMES DON'T EVEN DO THAT.

poopsack5339d ago (Edited 5339d ago )

bow down to the mighty wall-o-text, i hate to be "that guy" who brings up a game for no reason but really, when we see games like Uncharted 2 and Killzone 2 running perfectly on the PS3, is it really still time to argue against the technical capabilities of the machine? Or even if we ARE talking about 3rd party dificulties, no, look at Burnout Paradise as a well done example, if that is what ur arguing about, really idk anymore..

ReviewsArePolitics5339d ago

"You could design a game where the PS3 would be the superior platform, but you'd have to go out of your way to do it."

Out of the way? That's what 1st party exclusives do, it seems that carmack wants to have an excuse when their RAGE ends up looking like another mediocre port.

"If you're doing a game like people just want to do games now, the 360's the better platform."

Excuses for their lack of resources? And by resources it could be anything, even know-how. Carmack is just too used to develop for PC-like environments.

"If you were doing a whole lot of simulation, you can in theory get more performance out of the Cell processor than out of the two other dual-thread processors on the 360, but that's a big 'in theory'," he acknowledged."

That's not really "in Theory", that's being done RIGHT NOW on ps3 exclusives. And that's it, even he acknowledged PS3 is the most powerful platform out there.

Thanks for rendering all your other comments invalid, Why dis.

"in theory" like the kind of "in theory" that tells scientists how Dinosaurs moved, looked like and sounded like lol.

Why did you repost what I posted? the point was the actual game vs the PR rhetoric hence the last quotes in my post lol.

LOL I gave my opinion and you guys flip out with personal emotional rage lol. You guys are mentally, socially and emotionally troubled to say the least. It's like you're sitting here waiting for somebody to say something wrong as if you're enjoying patrolling this site all week and all weekend long just waiting for the wrong console fan to comment lol.

Just look at how personal it is with you guys, that's mental sickness. I put people on ignore when they bug me, you don't and you know why? You have some mental and social disorders. It's not even about gaming anymore, what you are doing is attacking me at the meer sight of my username hunting for me.

It's always the same 6 or 7 members doing this assuming they're different people(Nasim/xhi).

Angry because the game wen't multi platform and what I said was seen as negating your attempt at damage control? plus the usual mental disorders?

rockleex5339d ago (Edited 5339d ago )

If the Cell only had theoretical power, hospitals wouldn't be replacing their super computers with PS3s in order to render their CAT scans in 3D 15 times faster.

But that wasn't enough proof of the Cell's power to the media. They wanted to see its power in an actual video game.

Then Uncharted 1 came out. A year later Gears 2 couldn't even match up to it.

Everyone already knows the truth. Some are just trying to keep themselves sane by relying on multiplatform comparisons.

pixelsword5339d ago (Edited 5339d ago )

because it's supposed to be revealed this month, so I think we'll see enough to know what the deal is really soon.

ReviewsArePolitics5339d ago (Edited 5339d ago )

" ReviewsArePolitics"

Didn't you say that you had me on ignore? lmao, so much for that.

""in theory" like the kind of "in theory" that tells scientists how Dinosaurs moved, looked like and sounded like lol."

And? First, as respected as he is, Carmack is not the end all be all of game development. Second, you're mocking theories made by individuals that have published dozens of dozens of papers in the most respected scientific journals when you'd struggle to publish a single *article* on a tabloid paper. Get real.

"Why did you repost what I posted? the point was the actual game vs the PR rhetoric hence the last quotes in my post lol."

OK, I didn't repost what you posted, I selected the paragraphs that didn't get through your thick skull.

"LOL I gave my opinion and you guys flip out with personal emotional rage lol. You guys are mentally, socially and emotionally troubled to say the least. It's like you're sitting here waiting for somebody to say something wrong as if you're enjoying patrolling this site all week and all weekend long just waiting for the wrong console fan to comment lol."

LMAO, are you projecting yourself? As I've said dozens of times, I couldn't care less what you think. I'm only making fun of you.

"Just look at how personal it is with you guys, that's mental sickness. I put people on ignore when they bug me, you don't and you know why? You have some mental and social disorders. It's not even about gaming anymore, what you are doing is attacking me at the meer sight of my username hunting for me."

I don't because I don't give a sh1t, plain and simple. What's sick is that even if you have me on ignore, you have to click "Show" because you have to try and give a dumbass rebuttal with more gospel from the church you belong to.

"It's always the same 6 or 7 members doing this assuming they're different people(Nasim/xhi)."

More paranoid crap.

"Angry because the game wen't multi platform and what I said was seen as negating your attempt at damage control? plus the usual mental disorders?"

Here's your basic vocabulary: "smear campaigns", "complex gameplay", writing "lol" after every sentence, "personal attacks", "emotional problems", yeah you're basically criticizing everything you do. Hypocrite much? You have to get something clear:

*******Nobody cares**********

As we said before, you're simply an annoying little brat that everyone enjoys making fun off. Nobody hates you, nobody cares about you, you're just good old fashioned entertainment.

Ninji5339d ago

I bet you're feelin' pretty good right now.

Montrealien5339d ago (Edited 5339d ago )

Is this a gaming site or a Mexican soap opera? I vote for Soap opera. Cause all I see here are ******* slapping each other in the face while arguing why one rich man is 5% more powerful then the other rich man. We know one of them is more powerful, and we also know it does not matter cause they will both make sweet sweet love to you in the same way.

Get it together people! They are both rich! They both want to make money! And they both want you to play great games, no matter how much you try to polarize this crap.

gaffyh5339d ago

@murder - Uncharted 2, Killzone 2. Enough said.

Stop feeding the troll guys.

When you give him food, he wins, and is able to survive longer under that bridge to torment more young children.

Join the Cause! Don't Feed The Trolls!

i3eyond the Circle5339d ago

In order to "stop feeding the trolls"

We would need every contributor to stop contributing any 360 or 360 game related topics.

andron5339d ago

But we should be proud to keep the troll on N4G, and keep him from annoying people in real life.

Think how bad it must be to be stuck with a troll all day in real life. And I feel a little better knowing I can help the troll out by pressing disagree. Enjoy troll.

StanLee5338d ago (Edited 5338d ago )

I'm very surprised the game will be released on the XBox 360. I never know how to feel when an exclusive game goes multiplatform, especially a PS3 exclusive. I literally have 6 games for the PS3. I prefer to buy multiplatform games on the XBox 360. Not because of any minute graphic advantages of lack there off but XBL offers party chat and I've grown very accustomed to the controller.

MGS_fanatico_5339d ago

I hope to see what they showed to people at TGS!
I mean...It sounds incredible doesn't it? They claim that in 05' their engine had something comparable to Id software's Rage running on the original Xbox...That's quite a statement! =P
But then again, so is running CGI visuals in real-time!
Oh man...Now I'm getting hyped again, this time around I REALLY hope to be floored by these guys!

Pixel_Addict5339d ago

You don't make a company out of thin air then produce Rage like graphics like it's just the easiest thing to do. If the studio had anything tangible to reveal it would have been done long ago. But now that the game has gone multi-platform, all the fanboys are coming out and saying its the greatest thing since Star Wars. It takes years, if not decades to form a team that can push hardware that far. Name on company that just came out of nowhere and just REVOLUTIONIZE software programming.

lowcarb5339d ago

The guys behind Project Offset.

pixelsword5339d ago (Edited 5339d ago )

While I do agree that pushing the hardware probably isn't the easiest thing to do, I must disagree that a company couldn't make an advancement in one game. It all depends on the abilities of the programmers: some will take to it like a fish to water even though they made mediocre games in the past, others with the reputation of making fantastic games will not possess the abilities to make a competent game on the PS3. If you look at Ninja Theory's Heavenly sword you wouldn't realize that Ninja Theory was that capable in respect to the games they made in the past.

Furthermore, looking at Free Radical's past by Time Splitter's game engine (arguably ran just as good as a PC game in it's time) PLUS the incredible Star Wars Battlefront III game they were making didn't give them the ability to make an overall successful game when HAZE came out; although I would have put Free Radical's programmers in a higher group in terms of ability than Ninja Theory's.

DJ5339d ago

Wherever their game is...

kaveti66165339d ago

Well, not sound like a fanboy, but one company that came out of nowhere and revolutionized software programming was Microsoft. In the short space of 2 decades, the Windows operating system has penetrated the computer infrastructure of nearly every country in the world.

Also, I think with enough talent, ingenuity and creativity, a single individual can make everyone rethink how everything works. It happens all the time. Some people are always thinking outside of the box, while the rest of us try to do so, but never really realize that everything that inspires us is stuff that already exists in the form we want it to exist in.

Bigbangbing5339d ago

@lowcarb

totally agree, I hope my pc could handle it :(

@pixelsword

NT <3

I want a sequel :(

mfwahwah5338d ago (Edited 5338d ago )

Do I have to name one company? What if Digi Guys IS that one company?

They've been at it for five years. Their whole team sounds like CG artists. They're trying something *different*. It all adds up to progression in my eyes. I mean, I'm not saying they're actually doing something amazing. I haven't seen the game. Neither have you, though, so I don't understand the harsh judgements.

You and I should BOTH wait before we complain or praise. I mean... Ico took 4 years to make from a new team. That game completely redefined "atmosphere" and "emotion" in a video game to me.

War Devil could very well redefine graphics. Or it could redefine "broken promises." See how I try to keep an open mind like that? Helps me out a lot. Sure beats being a pessimistic critic in my eyes haha.

bla bla bla.. until I see actual gameplay, I'm gonna consider this game as NOTHING. 5 years of hype without any 1080p mega\CG quality\like no others\better than id tech engine gameplay vids is too much to believe.

RockmanII75339d ago

Didn't it take 10 years too make Too Human? Just sayin time doesn't always make a game great.

Bigbangbing5339d ago

ok.. and who said I'm expecting WD to be a great game? :P

yeah it could be the next TH or maybe it'll end up being "canceled" and no one will ever see their mega CG like 1080p game.
