A Halo release that will be playable on the PS3

The success of the Halo franchise has been incredible. So much so, it was only a matter of time before we'd see a movie. Microsoft plans on releasing a seven-part series spanning from its origins to the game's third installment, titled Halo Legends.

The announcement was made at the 2009 Comic-Con. The series will be available for download via Xbox Live this fall. This will be followed shortly on Blu-ray sometime in 2010, so there will finally be a disc labeled Halo that will play on the PS3 for all the Halo fans.

I can't wait for Halo Legends. I like anime, but I'm not a freak about it. Anything with good action or killing satisfy my needs. Anyway, whoever made this anime short kind of bastardized Master Chief. The Chief would never in a million years do backflips like that, even though he is capable of doing so. He talks with his guns, and if he wants to kick ass bare hands, he doesn't flip around stalling. He just gets the job done in a fast and lethal manner.

On topic ... so what if you can watch Halo on a PS3? You could also play as Master Chief in Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3. I don't see how this is news, but I guess it's something to sit and ponder about. :/

Well, considering the fact that this could be happenning before the events in Halo 1 (from the description), this could be a younger John than what people have seen in the games. In my opinion, he seemed more agile and reckless in the books than in the game, where he barely talks and has a somewhat limited set of moves.

Also, I know they said that because of the drugs and everything they looked slightly weird, but if that's Linda under that armour, she's definately looking more manly than I ever imagined while reading the books...

Also, it's an anime, way more "anime" than I taught it would be actually, I expected it to look more like the average american cartoon, so expect anime-like stuff to happen, including some more impressive moves so it doesn't seem too static.

that is exactly an anime from 1980 and Halo Legend looks not distantly on a different technical level! I've watched many animes in 1990 that look far better than that! this looks too CHEAP for a 21st century anime! they should've at least made it in CGI, which I think will suit the theme better!

I'm 2 use to Uncharted, and resistance and all the other great games like MGS and such... no halo will ever get on my ps3. thats a franchise i think defines the xbox... so keep iot that way.. and as for Cnet.. that's microsoft, so i expect nothing less

Halo 2 will be playable on PS3 soon enough through game streaming sites (like onlive http://www.onlive.com/) they are in BETA right now but the technology is their and one company is porting the technology to PS3 and no doubt the Halo PC catalogue along with Gears 1 will be added to their back catalogue.

It's in favour of both. Sony will make money off of Halo because it's on a optical disc format that they partly own and MS will make money off of Blu-Ray because the media on it is of an IP that they own.

You're absolutely right, but I was thinking more about how this could lead to different things. Like how MS could aquire Blu-Ray for the next Xbox, or how the Halo franchise could come to Sony/multiplat. It just seems odd and ironic that something Halo will be on the PS3. But then again, there are people with just a regular Blu-Ray player, so they're not just targeting the PS3 audience. I know I'm probably wrong, but that just popped into my head.

bull$hit you can already play halo on your PS3 thanks to its superior version of Unreal Tournament III. you can have Masterchief skins and Halo maps like Wizard. the most funny part is Masterchief is rendered in HD for the first time because Unreal is 720p (1080p since update 2.0) while halo 3/ODST are sub-HD 640p. on top of this the XBL is so crappy that you can't have those mods on the Xbox360 version!! :D

Yes he is capable of doing backflips etc. Having said that though, I am not 100% the spartan in the clip is actually MC. again referring to the books there are a number of spartans each kind of speicalise in different things. I can't remember her name now, but it was one of the female spartans that specialized with the sniper.
