If they do this, than there should be a mode where all of the cities are accessible with whatever character you choose, just by flying by plane. And in this mode the latest GTA3 physics will be in effect(cause it would suck for your plane to crash as soon as you reach Liberty and you can't jump out or swim)

I would want San Andreas remake. Not the whole 720p whatever thing but upgraded to GTA4 graphics and physics. CJ by far was the best character in all of GTA.

Anyway, besides that... i wish we were able to buy psn stuff as "gifts". Those that have steam should understand what i mean. That something we should tell Sony we want on one of the updates.

having skipped last generation, briefly playing the odd game on my brothers ps2 and xbox, ive missed out on some fantastic games. I would love to play the ratchet series, metal gear solids 2-4, ico jak and daxter. San Andreas is already on Xbox live and has been since sometime in 2008, sony must be getting a huge list of ps2 titles ready for download and then releasing them all at once(since they haven't done it yet), then add more (less important) ones down the line.

I personally would LOVE rockstar even more then i do now if they done a GoW style remastering of San Andreas (rest pale in comparison) it would put GTA4 to shame.

im sure most will get it if it did. i only plaed gta vice city on pc and i must say it lookt so good with everything on high or the highest settings. in 15 yeats gta4 will get the same treatment,imagine playn gta4 with no jaggies and the draw distance is better and 120fps lol

guys, don't get too excited. At best I'd expect them to be merely releasing 3, VC & SA just as they were on PS2 only now exclusive to PSN. Can't see HD graphics, integrated trophies or anything like that. Sony are just going to push PS2 titles on PSN instead of giving us an emulator. We shouldn't have to be buying these titles again.

An all purpose emulator is impossible. PS2's architecture is far too different to emulate on ps3 via software only. a separate emulator would have to be written for each game (and that's how they plan on doing the psn ps2 games, simply rewriting them to run on ps3).

And it won't just be gta 3-SA. i know our source also mentioned liberty and vice city stories also.

I doubt Rockstar are going to focus time away from Agent and GTA V to remaster their old games, they're just not one of those developers.

At least, I hope not, get cracking on with new games and leave me to play the PS2 GTAs on my PS2 :), or at least only do a direct port, don't put your time into remastering them.

Remastered, no. We're not saying they'll add new textures and such, but instead will just code anti aliasing and higher resolution textures (like the ones from the PC versions) into the game. doesn't take much time at all to do that when you have to write an emulator to run the game anyway.
