ODST campaign is fantastic.Graphics are okay but the gameplay is great with a good storyline and firefight is a lot of fun.So do i think it is worth the price when you consider a new campaign,firefight,reach beta and all Halo 3 mp maps, then my answer is YES.But if you have all the multiplayer maps already then my answer will be NO.

IMO Microsoft should have released 2 sku's for ODST.ODST,firefight,reach beta = $40,ODST,firefight,reach beta and halo 3 multiplayer = $60.This would have been much better because not everyone plays Halo 3 multiplayer like me but would buy a halo game for the continuation of the story,firefight and access to Reach beta.

EDIT:Anyway over here in the UK it is £29.99 online.£10 less than other new games and £25 less that Modern Warfare 2.So price was not really an issue here at all.

I do own a 360 LOL. Why are you so ridiculously upset? It's quite amusing. I don't agree with Microsoft's corporate practices, including releasing GOTY editions of games that never won GOTY!

I bought and played ODST through my local Gamestop. Microsoft could have lowered its price from the get-go, but didn't. Yes I do complain that the game was too expensive. And I do complain about the price drop within one week after release. It has nothing to do with contradicting between a high price to a low price. It's about giving zero incentive for charging something so ridiculously high that shouldn't be that expensive to begin with, and then screwing over the most loyal fans that pre-ordered it by lowering its price within one week.

ODST was the worst Halo out of the franchise. And I actually do love Halo for what it did to gaming (bringing the mass market to FPS on consoles), esp the first one. If there's one franchise that makes me keep my 360, it's HALO. And I am waiting for Reach.

Heavenly Sword for the PS3 is:

a. a bit short
b. two years old
c. Still 50 - 60 bucks

Why does this game and other 1st party PS3 titles get a free pass while we continue to whine about ODST. If your argument is that ODST was meant to be DLC, the makes my arguement even stronger. OSDT at least added all of the Halo 3 maps, and other goodies.

Heavenly sword to me was just an over priced button masher.

@chaosatom (Below) - Good point I can see how some people would feel cheated when having to buy the maps again. And I agree with the guy above that stated that MS/Bungie should have release it as two Skus.

It should have been like the release of warhawk, where there was a DL version and a disk version, the disc version could have the halo 3 maps and cost more while the DL version could have been the ODST part along which probably would have made everyone happy.

I got luck and needed the Halo 3 maps.

And yeah I agree also that HS should be about 30 bucks or even 20 by now being it released sep 2007.

But seriously, the problem with Halo ODST is that it contains the Halo 3 DLC map pack. And it's basically the same game. Those who bought those DLC feel ripped off. Those who don't want map packs, but just the campaign also feel ripped off.

It really doesn't make sense to market it as a whole new retail game out of it and price it as a new game.

Now Heavenly Sword is a new IP and that's why they sell it at a $60 when it first came. Idk why they haven't dropped to $30 yet.

And I think MS knows that people will buy halo regardless of price, so it's like taking advantage of people and making them $60.

I think the real argument isn't just the SP length of ODST. But a real lack of a unique Multiplayer for the ODST realm. I mean, that's where people continue to play.

If you load up the second disc, you're just loading up "Halo 3" with all the maps.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm having a blast with the MP. But it sure would have been nice if ODST had it's own MP. Completely different maps, modes, etc. etc. would have been awesome.

liked it, but it didnt give me that halo feel, that i love, and come to expect from halos, my favorite thing in halo is the art direction, walking through beautiful vistas, with awesome forerunner architecture, while listening to Marty o'donnels awesome music, earth is just to boring and bland for me i guess. It was refreshing to see a city environment with phone booths, signs, stop lights, etc. But, I think that the HUD has its drawbacks. I agree that ODST lacked the shimmery architectural details of previous Halo games.

Firefight alone is worth the 60.00. That has some serious replay value. It is is even getting some of my friends back into halo. Mainly becuase of the non competitive firefight mode.

If this were just the campaign I would I agree with the 'just dlc' thing. With the addition of firefight and the Halo maps on a second disk it is well worth the 60.00.

I have warhawk and that is an online ONLY game. No campaign. No free maps. Just online muliplayer. Yet no one says that was overpriced at 60.00. And warhawk has nothing on any of the Halo games.

And for the record all of ODST is on one disk. Multiplayer firefight and the campaign. The second disk is Halo 3 multiplayer with all of the maps. Get it right when you bash at least.

My point is so many are bashing ODST and somehow forget to reference other games that have released from Sony that had a similar price for less content and options.

I was a little disapointed when it all ended(you never want a Halo game to end) but my time with legendary has shown me how much more fun playing this one is than any other Halo game so far - concerning the intense combat that is

i have a ps3, and im not even interested in this game. but my brother is a halo geek. just wondering for educational purposes, if he has halo 3, does he get to paly agains people with ODST? or are all the regular halo 3 people playing against each other, and all the ODST people playing against ODST people. i realize most halo kids will buy ODST anyway, but for the ones that dont want to upgrade are they getting left out to dry? or are they getting a better multiplayer experience with all the new palyers?

Halo ODST is a 2 disc game. Disc 1 has the Halo ODST campaign, Halo ODST Firefight, and in the near future the Halo Reach Beta. Disc 2 has Halo 3 multiplayer meaning it has all the match making gametypes and maps. Disc 2 does not have Halo 3 campaign.

I got a free copy from MS but only the campaign then saw the Special edition of it @ $80 with a wireless controller (ODST themed) and also got a military cap with Halo ODST emblazoned on the front. I'd say not a bad deal. Grphics r last gen but game play is fine for me. Dint yet try the 2nd disc. Got other games to play first.

I've got my copy already the day it dropped. I enjoy it. I think the game is good thus far. I like the ability to approach my objectives in a somewhat tactical manner. I'm also enjoying the lore behind the ODSTs. They come off as a mix of Paratrooper/Ranger.

There would've been a lot more people buying this game if it woulda launched at $40. Since I sold Halo 3, I woulda picked this up. Looks like the only one who will get credit on a ODST sale is Gamestop's used game section. I am not feeling ODST right now, so I doubt I'll order it from Amazon. It's still hovering at about $51... too steep for me, the content just isn't there, and that is according to fans of the series and owners of the game.

I played through on hero and I really enjoyed it started slow but soon improves still to play multi player I paid 25 english pounds and I think ill get my money's worth out of it. I dont know why people complain about grahics it looks great on my bravia maybe people are using crap non hd tv's ?
