i agree completely (although I did really enjoy prototype hehe) but yeah I was actually one of the ones who purchased Crackdown for the game and not for the Halo 3 MP beta as i had played the Crackdown demo and thought it was amazing. and if anyone thinks i am taking the p!ss then look at my xbox 360 profile and go look at crackdown i have spent alot of time playing it :D the only annoying thing is i was kinda close getting most of the green orbs and then my game save got corrupted =(

Nobody wants a game to be as over hyped like Killzone 2 was. Look how that turned out. Are there ever 500 people playing that game online in the US at once? I could check but i already know the answer. lol

2010 is gonna be expensive for gaming and on top of that i'll need a brand new set of toys to use on Saakings mom to keep her happy. Expensive times indeed.

You couldn't be any more wrong. I am not going to bad mouth Crackdown because I never played it, but Infamous is easily one of the best games released this year and to those who played it know just how fun it is to play the game. I went out of my way to platinum it and the powers and gfx are simply great for a sandbox game.

With just a bit more polish it could have been one of the best games out this gen. Needless to say, Sucker Punch will be more experienced for Infamous 2 and will deliver an even better game. Did you even play the game btw?

Still playing it, still having fun. There are a few minor things I'd change in inFamous, but nothing major. What I like is how they *nailed* the control scheme - every power is available all the time, no menus needed. Getting around is great. It is just plain fun to play.

For all I know, Crackdown is even better - never played it. But inFamous is a lot better than "average".

Average game? you got to be kidding me. inFAMOUS is an incredible game. For one it got a story to tell, not to mention its awesome gameplay. One of the very few downers of inFAMOUS was "teh jaggiez", apart from being a PS3 exclusive of course. That's the main reason I fail to understand how mediocre looking games like ODST got away with a 9 from IGN in the visual department.

BTW, I dont understand. Are Crackdown 1 visuals very far from those shown in the video? because what I'm seeing here is not very hot.

EDIT: Oops, I almost forgot. StanLee is the same fanboy spreading the flat out lie that inFAMOUS is a 4 hour long game.

Crackdown was awesome when it was the only open world 3rd person shooter of that type. I really enjoyed it.

But I have to agree, Infamous is a much better game as it presents much better quality with Graphics, AI, Playability, etc.

I hate to say it but I cant bring myself to play or buy any more 360 games now that Drakes 2 has presented a level of game that is way above anything that the 360 has to offer.

I will say that I am very interested in Natal though... That may spark my 360 up again....

ALRIGHT...DOUBLE U, TEEE, EFFF? There was no reason to bring up inFAMOUS whatsoever...I loved inFAMOUS, one of my favorite games this gen(great story, great gameplay, great visuals IMO), but comparing it to Crackdown is useless, all they have in common is the fact that they're both superhero games, and they both have some platforming.
I haven't played Crackdown yet, getting it really soon(can't wait :P), but Unlike most people when I play it, I will sit and enjoy it for what it is....I wont compare it to EVERY OTHER GAME THAT HAS A SIMILARITY.......and btw if you really liked inFAMOUS, you would know that when bringing it up, it's going to recieve some bashing from other people, then WHY BRING IT UP?
On Topic: I really liked the concept of Crackdown, haven't bought it yet cause I just got my 360, and Mass Effect has kept me on it :P, but this is looking REALLY GOOD, and if anyone wants to see some pretty good footage, Gametrailers has a 2-part developer walkthrough

As someone who beat infamous and crackdown, crackdown was a good game for its time infamous is a good game for 09. infamous was ahead of crackdown 1 and crackdown 2 SHOULD be ahead of infamous the same with infamous 2.

Yup, loved the first game as well and I'm so hyped for 2.

Infamous shouldn't get slagged it was a great game and still right there next to Crackdown for me in Open World games. I would recommend Crackdown for anyone who hasn't tried it and has a 360 and I would recommend Infamous for anyone who has a PS3 and hasn't tried it. There is plenty of room for both.

Why're people so obsessed with how good games look? Pretty much from what you've just said is "I'm not playing anything that looks worse than Uncharted 2".
It's not just about graphics. Earth Defence Force 2017 is one of the crappiest looking games around yet I'd still take it over near-enough every other game around today just because it's so much fun.

You're going to have a sh*tty gaming experience if you're only buying the games that look fantastic. You're going to miss out on so many other great titles because you (seem) to think every game which isn't on par with Uncharted 2 won't be worth playing.

It needs a coat of polish or two, and the AI is a little unresponsive, as they run up to the character and do nothing several times, which shows that they need to tweak a thing or two. I'm sure they are aware of what I stated if not more also; so I expect to see some improvements at the next big conference.

Using the same city can be a great thing, so hear me out:

1. They could be doing some major optimizing in terms of graphics, speed, interactivity, people, and effects, so even though you are in the same city, it may not even look like the same city.

2. It's possible that you may get a different perspective when you enter into cars or may be able to access even more things like homes

3. My only other hope is that the city isn't so "clean" this time around; Looking back, it was like a mix of Mirror's edge and Infamous.

there is a story genius the fact that you don't know this is proof of how bad it is you play an agent who has to stop the gangs in the city. aslo there are missions too the missions are you have to go after the boss of each gang to get rid of there hold on certain areas of the map. saying the game is stylish is just an excuse to use to defend bad graphics look at naruto on ps3 that is the best cel shaded graphics i ever seen. the structure of the game is you go after the important people in each game with the higher ranking people requiring you to climb up higher buildings. i not against pure fun this game just isn't fun its trash an you shouldn't call people trolls if they know more about the game then you do.

It is one of my all time favorite 360 games. It is UNDERSTOOD that the graphics look that way because that is the direction they wanted to display for it ARTISTICALLY, and it works IMO.

While watching this video, I didn't understand why a shotgun would make a Semi flip all over the place like it was an empty soda can. The AGENTS are supposed to be Super, not their weapons (unless something has changed). I didn't think that cars and stuff was supposed to fly around like that unless you punched or kicked them. Imagine having a firefight where there is heavy traffic... cars and shyt flying all over the place, killing civilians... kinda weird.

I'm not really feeling the monster thing. Taking down thugs and crime bosses was where it was at. You only had this in ONE segment of Crackdown1 when you went into the Scientist's area. I hope monsters aren't a major part, and are only isolated to some areas like the first game. But I will probably be a sucker for this game, I loved the first one a lot, it caught me by surprise.

The devs have not only ramped up the abilities for the main character...but they have also modified the weapons. The shotgun might have been the new UV shotgun that they have added. It is supposed to use a "burst of light" as opposed to traditional ammo. That might explain the power of the blast.

Because it's fun. Considering the agent was at max power i think that was perfectly apt crackdown for you. I can't wait to take that weapon into a busy street with traffic, although that'll probably be rare since the civvies will all be cowering somewhere to avoid the mutes.

Whilst i riled against the idea of the mutes at first it does give the game a bit more scope for what the original missed - a challenge. I can't wait to have situations where the mutes are jumping over the buildings chasing me.

Hopefully straight into mesh of mag mines suspending multiple cars in mid air ready to pop.

People who think inFAMOUS was an average game just don't get it.

the city was FUN to roam. period.
It was detailed, full of rich technicalities that showed how life could of be for any person on any given day.

It had some of the best applications of blurring I've seen in a while, which when you climbed to the very top of a building, gave the illusion that you were WAY up there.

Sound design was also smart in that things on the roof where drowned out the sounds of people and cars below, yet again, a proper and just overly unique use of resources to give off the illusion of depth.

I do not need to fend off my reasons for such a game. Hell, this thread is aptly named "First Crackdown 2 Footage".

Game looks neat, but the only reason the first crackdown had initially caught my eye was because of the HUGE marketing campaign of the halo 3 beta.

Nah, play the original's demo once a night for 3 nights - the levelling up is turbofied and it starts a half-hour timer when you hit a certain level. See if you can't have some fun trying to max out different skills before it runs out.

How many people calling Infamous average have played it?
2nd best single player this year,just behind Batman.
Looking forward to this a lot though.The first Crackdown is one of my favourite 360 games.I think the graphics are only average though and I genuinely believe that most multi plat owners will always be less impressed by 360 games,now that PS3 is starting to show it's advantage.Despite looking better than Crackdown,it lacks detail and fails to look better than Infamous(which runs on old engine).
To me it's not that big a deal but the site said it looks "so good".
This game is fantstic in co op and upping it to 4 player makes it more appealing.It may make me buy a Live card(cancelled my Live account)just to play it.
The next 18 months could be the best ever for games between PS3/360.Amazing line up.We'll all be broke.
