Realms of Arkania on Good Old Games

Classic RPG Realms of Arkania is now available via Good Old Games and is, of course, completely DRM free. Based on a German pen-and-paper role-playing game, the first two parts of the trilogy - Blade of Destiny and Star Trail - are available together on the service for a mere $5.99.

The series is based on The Dark Eye, a pen-and-paper RPG recently revived in really-rather-good PC title Drakensang.

"Thanks to the collaboration between GOG and attic, we are proud to present XP and Vista compatible versions of the Realms of Arkania series in English for the first time, exclusively at GOG.com," said Jochen Hamma, Managing Director of attic Entertainment Software GmbH. "It's been a pleasure working with GOG.com as a partner, as the company is run by dedicated gamers and supports the RPG genre extensively."

A gamer is not required to play the first game to understand the basic world concept, but it does help because you have a better understanding of the history of the world since you were part of it.
