IGN writes: "That's a better representation of the flow of time and influence through the gaming industry than Bit Boy presents, as no company would have ever kept a franchise so locked down to the restrictions of the original Atari 2600 design all the way through three subsequent decades' worth of sequels. Had Super Bit Boy, Bit Boy 3D or the Bit Boy 64 stages completely altered the gameplay and offered something wholly unique, this overall WiiWare package would have better realized its initial potential. But it didn't, so it doesn't".
