ONM: Lord Of The Rings: Aragorn's Quest Preview

The shire is home to the sort of towering unflowers and soft focus shrubbery not seen since Alan Titchmarsh first wooed Great Britain's grandmothers with his gardening shows. It's a shock to the system, but it's not unattractive.

It's a style that sits nicely with the concept behind Lord Of The Rings: Aragorn's Quest. The now-King of Gondor and Armor is about to visit Hobbiton to formally recognise its mayor's contribution to the epic War of the Ring, as detailed in JRR Tolkien's books and the resultant movies. You'll know him. He's Samwise Gamgee, Frodo's mate and all-round good egg, and naturally he's more than happy to lean back in a comfy chair and tell all and sundry about his efforts and adventures. Just as well given that Aragorn's imminent arrival sparks huge interest from his kids, so he sits down and astounds with his tales.

I am not a big fan of the Lord of the Rings trilogy but it is a classic source of inspiration for fantasy stories. Aragorn’s Quest is based on Tolkien’s work and lets you guide the aforementioned hero as he battles the minions of Sauron. Your purpose is to reach the Black Gate of Mordor so that Frodo throws the magical ring of the evil wizard into the lava of Mount Doom and destroys it once and for all.
