The Miz got a focking 78! I'm pissed.

Goldust made it in, so I'm okay for right now.

What do you mean he got a 78?

Evan Bourne, CM Punk (of course), and Jack Swagger are in. I'm happy. Of course CM Punk was a given. Oh yea, and Santino. Comic genius lol.

What's funny though is they have Mr. Kennedy in there. Love the guy, but being as he was let go a while back, it's kinda funny that he's on there.

Jamegohanssj55338d ago

As in his overall is a 78. Mickey James has a 77 and Miz has a 78. Miz should have a least an 85. They bull shafted him this year.

saimcheeda5338d ago

isnt a very good wrestler in my opinion, hes a good guy in real life though, i think he should have gotten 81

JL5338d ago (Edited 5338d ago )

My question (I know I wasn't clear about it) was more where are you getting that information. I figured you were meaning overall stat. However, I'm not seeing that information anywhere. I would like to see it though to see what they gave everyone.

On that note though, you're implying Miz got shafted with a 78? lol I'm going to have to kindly disagree here. You obviously seem to be a Miz fan here, but he is by no means a good wrestler. He's decent at best (and that's only in recent times). 78 seems about right for him where he is now. He's definitely stepped up his game since he first came, but still in that average-at-best range. More than anything his mic skills have improved I think, but that isn't factored into the game I'm sure.

Also, if I remember correctly, those ratings aren't necessarily ratings of their skill. Rather it's how WWE wants them to be perceived. For instance, Cena all but sucks in the ring, but since he's their poster boy I would almost guarantee they give him some high rating. However take a look at somebody like Swagger or Regal who are vastly and largely better wrestlers in all facets, and they'll have lower ratings due to WWE wanting them to be perceived as midcarders now.

Even on an accurate scale though, I think 78 would be more than fair for Miz.

@above
Nah, I don't even agree with 81. Putting in the 80 range would imply above average. Miz is not that in any way. 70 range is a C-grade, which means average. I think Miz belongs there. If anything he might be overrated a couple points.

Jamegohanssj55338d ago

The Miz has improved all around. Also Charisma refers to the mic skills and what not. I got this information from the video they showed on Gamespot yesterday.

I haven't watched the WWE in so long I don't even know half these guys.

At least Y2J's still hanging around.

EvilCackle5338d ago

Yeah, I lost track of this stuff after high school. News to me that the guy from freakin' Real World New York is a wrestler these days.

Gamer_Politics5338d ago

THQ makes the same crap every year with minor features added

JL5338d ago

I actually hear they're really stepping it up with this iteration of SVR. Kinda like EA did with Madden this year. From the things I've read, this year's SVR seems to be pretty good. Sure it's no AAA title or anything, but seems like it's stepping its game up.

EvilCackle5338d ago

In the situation of SvR and Madden, though, the publishers have exclusive rights agreements in place so they don't have any pressure from competitors.

N2NOther5338d ago

The features they're adding this year are fantastic. I haven't bought a WWE game this entire generation, but with all the new features they're adding this year I will be for sure.

JL5338d ago

@dimeford
Not sure what that comment has to do with anything. On one hand it's not at all an excuse to put out crap games that are the same thing over and over. And on the other hand, it's not like exclusive rights means that they automatically have to make bad games.

@N2N
I agree. The features look nice in this year's game. Like I said, seems they've stepped it up a bit here. I'm really liking the way they stepped up the Manager Mode part of the game. Definitely going to be picking this game up, and I'm looking forward to checking that mode out. Last SVR I bought (a few years ago, I think it was), that was one of my biggest complaints. I loved the idea of the GM Mode, but I really wanted them to go into more depth with it. Now they've seemed to answer my wants this year.

DeadlyFire5338d ago

Game is gonna be crap. If you buy it you will be bored of it rather quickly. It will suck. I am telling you to help you. I wish the game got better every year. It doesn't. They have no pressure to get better.

TNA gets no game this year due to Midway dieing as it is being sold away. I hope that gets fixed soon so we might can see some good wrestling games come along.

Only reason this game will get better is if TNA steps up. I believe they might of tried a little more this year to change perception of their game as they do every year. It usually ends up to be the same though. Every WWE game this generation has sucked and I will not buy another until they step it up quite a bit.

JL5338d ago

I agree, the roster looks good. However, I'm wondering why they didn't cut Kennedy from the game after his release.

Jamegohanssj55338d ago

They said taking a superstar out of the game actually takes a little time, so WWE probably just pushed it aside seeing as Kennedy didn't do anything out of the way.

TGSI

JL5337d ago

Ah fair enough. I figured taking him out wouldn't be so hard to do, just deleting a couple things.

NegativeCreep4275338d ago (Edited 5338d ago )

I find it funny how the world's greatest Marky-Mark impersonator is always at the fore front of the line of superstars on the cover. He is a testament to the "Image first. Skill second, but not required" selection process within the WWE these days.

No legends like Bret The Hitman Hart? WWE is a mere shadow of its greatness from the WWF 90's days.

ZOMBIEMAN15338d ago

they removed Legends since WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009 they probably want you to buy Legends of Wrestlemania to important them similar with Legends of Wrestlemania since you could important the roster from 09 in Legends of Wrestlemania also you probably say that because you probably watched the attitude era honestly this WWE is just like old WWE days of Hogan , Andre it's the attitude era of WWF that most ppl me included enjoyed watching the most and what does the lack of WWE Legends in 2010 have to do with WWE

Why the New Study About Black Video Game Characters and Racism is Inherently Flawed

J Station X writes

"Racism still exists. From the day to day micro-aggressions muttered under breaths, to the vocal suggestions in protests and online that any person of colour is less than their white peers and to the systematic oppression of those who don’t happen to be white. It’s around us and poisonously so, to the point where it infiltrates every aspect of society.

A place where it is most called into question and analysed is video games, where a (small, but meaningful) margin of non-white characters are seen. But can the behaviours of these characters influence our views on race? A new study seems to think so."

Very well written article.

iceman063687d ago

This is exactly what I was saying in the very first discussion of this article. There is an inherent "bias" in this study. The issue is pretty simple...there was no pre-screening. Therefore, we know NOTHING about racial bias, stereotypes, or prejudice that existed BEFORE the actual study. Let's not even go into the "more or less" racist idea. Finally, and pretty important, is that there was no control group. Why not do the same thing for minorities to see if they show similar changes in attitude while playing these games? This would at least provide a basis for quantifying the results, to an extent, and allowing a basis of comparison.
About the only thing this really shows, if at all, is that something that was a known issue remains an issue.

Hicken3687d ago

Well said.

Seems like half these studies that involve gaming seem to have a conclusion they want to come to; anybody that knows anything about science knows that this will inherently skew the results.

Ashunderfire863687d ago

This article hit it right on the nail! Especially the part where the author said,we are dealing with systematic racism. Yes racism is a system that is the reality. The movie and gaming industry need to be more diverse, and stop giving us slave movies like 12 days of Slavery. Why can't they make movies or possibly even games about Africans and Queen? There are a lot of good stories out there.

Ashunderfire863687d ago

I meant to say African Kings and Queens (I did that comment on the cell phone typo my bad) in that paragraph.

legionsoup3687d ago

Gereralizations are wrong no matter who gives them. It's wrong to say that all blacks are violent. However, it's also wrong to label all Americans (or any other culture) as being unwelcoming (or racist).

Individual people can be extremely racist. Just because that one person goes to a certain school, or is from a certain country, doesn't mean that person is the representation for that entire pool of people.

Activemessiah3687d ago

Am I the only one that doesn't see race or sex in video games? It really doesn't register that I'm playing as a woman or black or a goat for that matter when playing, my first thoughts are functionality in terms of what they're capable of but never have I once thought "hey why aren't there people like me".

telekineticmantis3687d ago (Edited 3687d ago )

Sometimes I see gender. It depends on how out of place the character seems. The girl from heavenly sword was a good fit, but the new Lara Croft felt out of place in a highly violent videogame. Then again so did the guy from farcry 3 and sometimes the great Nathan Drake does aswell.

Honestly I also see race, if the character isn't awesome like kratos, I feel like it was a wasted oppurtunity, and if he's too stereotypical(and not in a funny way). It just seems corny.

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 Hits Sales Milestone, Delivers Wii Intrigue

A most interesting thing has happened this week: THQ’s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 has become a best-seller. That in itself isn’t amazing; in fact, it’s practically expected. But there’s more to the story.

dizzleK5016d ago

360 owners don't play casual games like this, thats why it's not a platinum hit.

N4BmpS5016d ago

Define casual game, pretty sure this isn't considered one of them.

CrzyFooL5016d ago

I dunno, all wrestling games kinda scream Casual to me.

aselah5016d ago

I don't play wrestling games, although Cena looks pretty hot!

CrzyFooL5016d ago

I haven't played a wrestling game since N64. This doesn't look like its going to change that.

LBD_Nytetrayn5016d ago (Edited 5016d ago )

It's a good game, I had a lot of fun with it. And $20 is tough to beat, definitely worth that much.

Incidentally, the DS game reminded me more of the old N64 games, but with a career mode attached.

KingNintendoFanboy5016d ago

When will we just get No Mercy 2? I'm sick of this series and I think everyone would like a sequel to the N64 smash hit WWF No Mercy.

xX TriiCKy Xx5016d ago

Was that good? I remember thinking about picking it up the day it came out but I never got around to it. Guess I was just REALLY lazy then.

Sandwich Bender5016d ago

For the past 10 or so years, I've had zero interest in pro wrestling on TV but I still love the games. I should pick this one up.

KingNintendoFanboy5016d ago

I stopped watching when WCW died. I was a WCW fan. I still want No Mercy 2 though....ugh.

KingNintendoFanboy5016d ago

No...nWo Wolfpac 4 Life. Sting, Nash, Luger, Savage, and Konnan!

jaredhart5016d ago

Don't forget Disco Inferno!
