Crazy Crysis screenshot: 25600 x 16000 pixels

Screenshots of Crysis in 25600 x 16000 pixels. That's ten times the size of a 30 inch display resolution. Although such settings are unplayable the screenshots are quite impressive. PCGH has two of the 400 megapixel shots for download and downsized previews of several others..

My eyes can see more pixels than that in real life!

koehler835344d ago

What's the point of capturing images at that resolution, then saving them at 1280 x 720?

IDetonation5344d ago

Avatar?
N4Geezus? :D

Meh.
UC2 looks better. >:D

devilhunterx5344d ago

Does anyone ever PLAY Crysis? Or comment on the story? Gameplay? Characters? Music even??

thehitman5344d ago

I wonder the same thing... all that crysis proved to be is a fun toy for tech geeks...

snaileri5344d ago

Seems like you are jealous console gamers :)

The Great Melon5344d ago

@devilhunterx

Nope, no one I know "plays" Crysis. All my friend does is turns on the frames per second and trys to see how he can optimize his settings and overclock his graphics card. ......Or shoot giant chickens with the mini nuke in the game editor.

thehitman5344d ago

these screens are unplayable... lol... and crysis didnt get rated well so jealous of what o.O

Pandamobile5344d ago (Edited 5344d ago )

"Didn't get rated well"

Lolwut? Crysis was one of the highest rated games of 2007.

Arnon5344d ago (Edited 5344d ago )

As Panda said, Crysis is one of the highest rated games of 2007, and yes, you can play those screenshots. They were taken directly from the game. Maybe not at that high of a pixel count, but they're from the game ;D

"Lolwut? Crysis was one of the highest rated games of 2007."

Crysis was badass. But, what the hell else has there been for PC since then?
Seriously, PC fanboys piss me off. At least 360 fanboys have a few games from 2007 and 2008 to back themselves up with, but you people just simply don't.

I have no problem with gaming on a PC, but seriously- just stfu.

PC Fanboys have no place in the gaming world, especially when you consider the fact that practically every single PC gamer (myself included) just torrents their games.

zagibu5344d ago

Well, I guess your "argument" works against you, since a PC game from 2007 is still the best looking game in existence, on any platform.

glennc5344d ago

PS3 fanboys piss the whole world off

Amplitude5343d ago

I agree that it looks better than any console game. But there hasn't been anything else... which is what i'm saying.

I could argue that Uncharted from 2007 looks better than any 360 game this year, but at least i would have better things to back myself up with RECENTLY. Like, say, Uncharted 2, God of War 3, or Gran Turismo 5?

kaveti66165344d ago

I understand what it's like to play a game that looks so impressive that I just stop and take in the detail and the beauty. Crysis is the hyper-experience of that. Crysis 2 will look better than Crysis and will run on an optimized engine so it won't require more powerful hardware. I will never play Crysis on my own computer, but I wish I could.

No one cares. The whole can it run Crysis is old, dead and stupid. It's also irrelevant, considering only less than one percent of pc owners, own a high-end PC. Second, I believe Crysis wasn't even optimized properly.

TheColbertinator391d ago

Crysis blew my mind back then and still kinda does.

bunt-custardly391d ago

Let's hope the modders can get the other Crysis games working in VR as they use the same Cryengine.

Bioshock still looks fantastic, one of my all time favorites.

Yui_Suzumiya462d ago

Beyond: Two Souls on PS3 can compete with modern day graphics.

SonyStyled462d ago (Edited 462d ago )

Same as Killzone 2 and 3, uncharted 2 and 3, Infamous 2, Heavy Rain, Resistance 3

jasonismoney462d ago

I wish this was entirely true, but you might want to load up Killzone 2 and Resistance 3 again.

SonyStyled462d ago

@jason I watched some gameplay videos of KZ2 and R3 on my full screen. They are on par or succeed graphically to the first person shooters mentioned in the article that also launched on the seventh generation of consoles. Try the same and see what you think

cthulhucultist462d ago

Killzone 3 was super impressive! I could not believe the graphics back then as I was regularly pausing the game to stand in awe looking at the surroundings! Resistance however did not impress me that much. Heavy rain is also another amazing graphically speaking game. It almost felt next gen

Fist4achin462d ago

I always thought the first 3 Gears of War games looked great and still hold up for today.

SonyStyled462d ago

They did for their day. I recently played gears judgement with on the 360 and the draw distance was so blurry. The characters up close look great though

JEECE462d ago

Far Cry 2 was awesome. In addition to having demonstrably better physics and AI than later games in the series, it had a lot of design decisions that, criticized at the time, have since been praised in games like BOTW and Dark Souls.

iNcRiMiNaTi462d ago

It might not be super amazing by today's standard but I thought Mgs3 looked really good

JEECE462d ago

In terms of art style it still holds up.

Can It Run Crysis? The Only Steam Deck Question That Matters

Digital Foundry: "When Alex Battaglia got his hands on a Steam Deck, this was inevitable, right? So can the Steam Deck really run Crysis? And if so, what type of optimised settings produce the best performance? What's the best balance of features and battery life... and what about 60fps?"
